The production quality of this thing is amazing - I think it might be one of the best things the VT athletic department has produced. Definitely check it out.

Awesome video. When did BillDozer start working for tech?
I was there when CFB played. Saw every home game. Watching the video reminded me of what must have been an unwritten rule for the defense under Claiborn. All defenders, except Frank Loria, must be on the ground at the end of the play or they had not put forth maximum effort. You could see players diving for the ground all over the field at the end of each play.
Frank Loria was the man. Does anyone know why they stopped giving out the award in his name?
18 Commonwealth Cup victories in 26 years. SEC coaches would kill for that record over their main rivals.
Pretty sure UGA has that kind of record...
G'd up from the feet up.
Loved loved the video! So happy they put that together!
It's worth noting that Bill Roth has pretty much been the voice of Tech for the duration of Frank's tenure. He joined (at 22) in 1988, one year after Frank. It really stands out to see the early coaching highlights of Frank being called by Roth. I feel like this video is a bit of an homage to Roth as well.
Along those lines, Dave McKee, director of the MVs, has seen everything during Frank's tenure as well since he started as a grad assistant in '84 and became director in '86. I wonder who the longest tenured faculty member at VT is though.
Dr. Eigel in FST started at Tech in 1979. Don't know when he got tenure. There are some other old farts in biology and chemistry, too.
A couple months ago I think it would've been Dr. Torgersen. He came to VT in 1970, but just taught his last class this spring so he isn't really eligible now
...this video was amazing. This made me want a 30 for 30 about Frank Beamer's tenure ...I really hope that happens!!
What if I told you...the legend would emerge from a Fancy little Gap...
Seriously! This really put some things in perspective for me. Sometimes when you haven't lived long enough it's difficult to appreciate certain things. I'll admit I've sometimes under appreciated what Beamer has done for our program over the years. Excellent post.
The production team has really kicked it up a bit. I'm liking everything coming from them now, and I can WATCH everything they're putting out now because I don't have to wait for it to load...good times.
This may be TKP Blasphemy, but as someone said elsewhere, I think this gets me more hyped for the year than the others posted on this site.
Awesome video!!!! We are certainly blessed to have a coach like Beamer!!!!
That was fantastic!! Love seeing his old football highlights.
EDIT: Also makes me wonder how anyone could possible mad about him re-signing his
contract. FRANK BEAMER IS VT FOOTBALL.
I loved the old football highlights too, I don't think I'd ever seen Beamer highlights before. Great tackling form.
He was a great tackler, tough as nails also.
Beamer, he'll get after ya.
Some Fulleresque moves there. Maybe he taught the Fullers?
Great video. Made me feel a lot of pride.
Best part of the video, for me, was seeing different video from famous Hokie highlights I had never seen before. With much clearer audio. I hope whomever is doing this keeps it up - great stuff!
Impressive. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to play for that man.
I had never seen any footage of Frank's college days. Looks like he played like he coaches. Can't wait to win the next five National Championships and send him off right!
That clip of the presser introducing him as the head coach, Shane looks a lot like his pops.
still does
Awesome video - great to seem some clips of the games in the early 90's- grew up going to VT games since 1990, and this brought back some memories.
A tribute well deserved, Coach.
Man I loved the new audio/video that came from this production. Time for a new VT power hour. Who's up for drinking along with me?
Good vid.
How in the heck did they find good video of the '89 WVU game?
Great video. I hope this video shows the fans who want CFB gone what he has done for both this University and football team. He is a great man and great leader and deserves more respect than what some people give him.
That was amazing. It reminds me of how lucky we've been to have Coach Beamer leading our team. And of how much I miss Blacksburg. He is truly an icon that has represented our University and our Hokie Nation better than we could ever have imagined.
Also, every time I hear "Touchdown, Tech!" I get amped. Like "I'm waiting to hear Skipper" amped.
