OT: Andrew Ford's High School Team Playing In Dublin Today

This would be a really cool experience - playing a High School Football Game overseas to kickoff the season.

Andrew Ford's High School - Cedar Cliff - is playing Penn Manor today at 2pm (EST) at Croke Park, the same field where Penn State will be playing UCF.

Since when did HS get the budgets to do that?

Yea - I have no clue how they got to go - I never heard of any fund raisers for Cedar Cliff going on around the area, and I live in Hershey - 20 minutes away from CCHS

Wow - who knew?!? Nice find, Rob! Thanks

Yea this makes sense.

That's a ridiculous stadium, but what's even more ridiculous to me is the fact that their High School marching band has over 800 members and is the largest in the world. They have a student body of nearly 4,500 and a separate campus just for freshmen. I realize everything is bigger in Texas but DAMN

How do you even execute different formations with that many bodies on the field?

I think we had something like 450 when I was there (98). Virginia's Finest.

Agreed. My freshman yr of HS we were at a band competition at Lee-Davis. The MVs came and gave a sweet ass exhibition performance. My jr yr of HS we did a competition at JMfU and saw their band do an exhibition. They were flawless but needless to say I enjoyed the MVs better.

"Parade of Champions." It was awesome to be on both sides of it, in H.S. then in college.

Maryland had their Band Day that year, had the MRDs, Central (woodstock) and maybe one other VA high school on one side of the shoe, and a bunch of MD schools on the other during the game, and we all did the national anthem on the field together. Of course the football Dukes got destroyed, en route to their fewest wins in program history - 3 (at the time).

Trumpet (and I would say 3rd chair, I can play the music, but you won't hear me doing any solos).

Meh...onlly the fifth largest in the state. Not overly impressed.
