I know it is on Monday, but it is a three day weekend. What about UM vs UL? Are there any other games on Labor Day?

I figured that by Monday, that game would get its own thread since it is an ACC matchup. I went ahead and added it to the list, though.

Thanks. I was really just hoping that there were other games that day since most people are off of work for Labor Day.

*Key word being most.

7'ish coffee.
8:31 first beer.
12:01 make lunch.
halftime of noon game, throw chicken in smoker
3:59 start jumping (yes, at home...)
halftime of VT game, eat the smoked chicken
remainder, play it by ear. A 12 pack of Easy IPA will determine the fate.

I am going to copy you on your 7am plans, your 8:31am plans, and your 3:59p plans

I will make sure to watch the Ohio State vs Navy game. Look at what we need to do to sadle them up them in the SHOE!

This season will be a test for me. Being that I am now in CST, my biggest fear is that drunk Dozer will turn on a game and wonder why it's already in the second quarter. Tomorrow I will write on my hand "YOU ARE IN CENTRAL TIME" so I will be constantly reminded that I need to adjust.

I'm sure plenty of hokie fans will tweet you to remind you.. or if you have iphone set reminder 15-20 minutes before gametime

I made an edit for you to help you out. BDT=Billdozer Time.

Also, for those without ESPNews - can you still use Watch ESPN to watch the game?

yes..you could use an HDMI cable and plug into laptop then into a port onto the tv and you're good to go!

"I'm high on Juice and ready to stick it in!" Whit Babcock

I wish WatchESPN was optimized to cast through my ChromeCast on my laptop like Youtube, Netflix, and Hulu. You can cast WatchESPN through your phone, but it is not the same. I have sent them e-mails and they have responded that they are working on fixing that (not sure that I believe them). Now you can only cast the window to the TV so it is a bit choppy.

Edit: I was wrong about casting the window from a laptop. You just end up casting the main WatchESPN window, not the actual window that opens to show the event. You can do it through the app on your phone though. (See below for my comments about the quality. It is much better than it was when I first got the Chromecast)

if you have XBOX Live you can do it through that.

oh really? how bad is it? my plan was to cast from my phone, but now I may have to hunt down an hdmi cable

"We were at the pinnacle, and we did it for years," Foster says. He pauses, nods, takes a deep breath. "And I did it with the best guy in the business."

hdmi cord is decent. Obviously the sound might be a littls scratchy but its pretty good other than that.

"I'm high on Juice and ready to stick it in!" Whit Babcock

I would rather do it through my laptop so my phone battery doesn't die, plus it just works better through sites that are optimized for casting and I can do other stuff with my phone without messing up the quality.

I am casting through the WatchESPN app on my Galaxy Note II right now to test it with the App. St. vs Michigan game. The picture quality is pretty good. It just locks up every few minutes, but only for a second or two. If you can tolerate that then this should work well for you, just plug your phone in while you do it. It will depend on how well your wireless network runs, so the freezing may not be an issue for you. I know my wireless router is a little tempermental.

Weird - casting from your phone shouldn't drain the battery too much. The phone isn't sending that much information to the dongle. Most of the work is between the dongle itself and the internet. The phone just sends information when you ask it to (pause, fast forward, choose a new program, etc.). In fact, you can start the game and the just shut off the phone and it'll still play.

Thanks. Good to know. I don't really understand all this new-fangled technology stuff.

Awesome! I have chromecast, so I'm set. I just didn't want to get the same message I did yesterday when I tried to cast the game that was on the SEC Network.

I got the same message many times before I learned Fios was only offering the SEC Net with its top tier packages

"We were at the pinnacle, and we did it for years," Foster says. He pauses, nods, takes a deep breath. "And I did it with the best guy in the business."

Yep - that was exactly the same boat I was in.

If you go to the game thread in r/cfb, someone will usually post a streaming link for that particular game.

haha, love the BDT

I saw this and thought it stood for "'Bout Damned Time" and were just expressing frustration at the interminable off season

Careful, if he's a few drinks in it may turn into BlitzDozer Time, at which point he'll have another drink and be worse off.

and then it could be Brewer Damn TouchdownTime!!!!!

I like the redefining of a time zone. I feel BillDozer's pain. I too just moved to the BDT. Almost missed my fantasy draft because of it.

Alright, because I'm bored and trying to avoid doing real work, I'm going to run through this and make a schedule of games that are worth watching if you want to watch football non-stop. To make it easy, I'm going to assume each game lasts 3 hours.
Friday:
7:30 PM Villanova at Syracuse ESPN 3 - Why this game? Because it's an ACC team and no other good game is on besides Michigan State if you want to see a beatdown
10:30 PM UNLV at Arizona ESPN - For the night owls, but tomorrow starts early so get some rest

Saturday:
8:30 AM Penn State vs. UCF* ESPN2
12:00 PM No. 5 Ohio State at Navy CBS Sports Network - Preview what OSU is with Barrett rather than watch the criminal things UCLA will do to UVA
3:30 PM West Virginia vs. No. 2 Alabama* ABC/ESPN2 - See how this game starts out before switching to...
4:00 PM/3:00 PM BDT William & Mary at Virginia Tech ESPNews
5:30 PM No. 16 Clemson at No. 12 Georgia ESPN - Watch the last half after our game is over
8:00 PM No. 1 Florida State vs. Oklahoma State* ABC/ESPN 3 - Catch about the first quarter and a half. Shouldn't be a huge challenge for FSU though
9:00 PM No. 14 Wisconsin vs. No. 13 LSU* ESPN - To me, this is the highlight game of the weekend. 1 team has a great RB, the other thinks it has a great RB and by all indications probably does and has a coach that eats grass. I see this being a slug-fest where whoever has the last possession wins.
10:30 PM South Dakota at No. 3 Oregon Pac-12 Network - Watch the end of this game to see this year's Heisman winner (you heard it here first) do his thing

Sunday:
7:30 PM SMU at No. 10 Baylor FOX Sports 1 - Baylor has quickly become as exciting to watch as Oregon. Petty is going to do big things this year

Monday:
8:00 PM Miami (FL) at Louisville ESPN - This is a no brainer. The post-Bridgewater/Strong era begins. Petrino is on the sidelines so it can be nothing but interesting.

Who's noon game isn't going to be anOSU??? I'm interested to see their new QB almost as much as ours. Although I do wish Clemson v UGA would be a late game. Would like to watch that one. Guess I'll settle for Wisc LSU.

If you don't want to recruit clowns, don't run a clown show.

EDIT: I will be moving my 40' TV to the stand and connect to different BrightHouse Box. Then the big 70' on the wall and boom!!!

"I'm high on Juice and ready to stick it in!" Whit Babcock

All that's really great, but I wonder if the TKP could be at the forefront of working out deals for streaming to us fans who are not stateside? It would be nice to have something reliable that also doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Love that the crowd is drinking Guinness at the Penn St/UCF game

Had to break out the Guinness coffee mug this morning too!

I'm currently watching Hackenberg pick apart UCF and knowing he's from FUMA I was wondering if Tech recruited him?

Even the refs are icing the kicker.(edit: in Dublin, right before half)
