Feeling ballsy in my first ever post...A few too many beers and Wild Turkeys perhaps...but why can't we beat "THEE OVERRATED STATE UNIVERSITY"? Common sense says one thing but drunk sense is way more fun, so I'm going believe in us to win on a big stage. I mean if we lose, none of us will be that shocked...but if we win, I dare say it will be the sweetest win since Miami 03'. I choose the latter, but now if you excuse me it's time to "stick it in".

Late Tuesday Night/Early Wednesday morning and drunk? That sounds like a TOTs Tuesday to me.
I miss college.
TOTS Tuesday. It'll get after ya. I know that feel.

Yes, this is the first image I found when googling "TOTS Tuesday." I believe the little girl looking through the magnifying glass is a metaphor for drunken youthfulness.
I concur.
There is only one culprit of a Tuesday night drunk TKP post...
The Rail.
Tots Tuesday and Class of 2003.... VAN WILDER, IS THAT YOU????
Class of 2010 Grad here, Ive been feeling like a little kid before Christmas all week about this game. A group of my Fraternity brothers and I will be heading to OSU game from DC Friday morning around 5:30 AM. I cant concentrate at work whatsoever, GO Hokies! Im predicting a 24-10 HOKIES WIN
Urban Meyer at home, watching Hokie film, .... when suddenly.....
I had a job interview yesterday and the interviewer asked if I have any upcoming vacations/trips we'd have to schedule around. I (too quickly) answered with "Well it's football season.." Oof.
Had a buddy do this for his first ever job a couple years ago. Got hired in May and flat out told the company "Look, I'm an Auburn fan and I will be going to every football game. That means I can't work Saturdays or stay late on Fridays, but I can stay late every other day of the week."
Still got hired. IMHO, be upfront and honest about your priorities. If they don't like the transparency, then it may not be a place you "want" to work (although at some point you have to take whatever and let Hokie football fall by the wayside if necessary...).
Good luck on the interview!!
I hit the 500 leg milestone today. You sir, can have them all.
Work to live. Don't live to work.
Crazy talk, i no rite? Always follow, but catch the game on a re-air or ESPN3 if you have something important (like a job...) come up.
Also, that's my first "green" comment.
Completely unrelated note: "new" comments are orange-ish, read comments are gray. I wonder if we could petition Joe to make the "green" comments maroon with white text instead? been on a couple SBN blogs where similar things have worked well. Just something to think about...
Or if you hit 25 turkey legs, your message gets fully dipped in dork magic and has a sparkle effect?
I put in a vacation request for the Friday and Monday before and after the Bristol game about 8 months ago to my LOLUVA boss.
He denied it (jokingly)
I work a rotating schedule but all the guys know I take off every Saturday that I can during football season . they used to give me crap but I explained that vt football is much more important than working. so if I had the time I'm going to burn it.
Use it or lose it, right?
On the TOTS note, does anyone know the recipe for a Rail? I plan to order one at a Casper, Wyoming bar on Saturday after we win.
http://whatabigtodo.blogspot.com/2010/06/t-o-t-s-tots-tots-tots.html
That's exactly where I just pulled the recipe I posted. Bravo.
And suddenly, my day got better.
Lots of Alcohol, a little sprite, and a splash of grenadine. General consensus from what I've seen is that it is a shot each of Gin, Vodka, Bourbon, Triple Sec, Rum, Whiskey, with a splash each of Sprite, Cranberry Juice, Grenadine, and Sours Mix over Ice.
Should we have a rail before the game?
I'd like to remember us beating OSU. My drink of choice during the game is a Bud Fosters (half Budweiser half Fosters, actually got a bartender to make it for me last week).
Good call - I, too, may have a Bud Foster.
Thanks, I'm going to do this now.
I can't consciously take full credit for it, someone else came up with the idea last year on TKP somewhere and I decided to start doing it.
This was one of the things I listed on the Meme/Inside Jokes thread, but I can't recall who made it up. Add a splash of Wild Turkey to it. Or put the Wild Turkey in a glass to make a Bud Foster Bomb.
That joke is so old, one of my high school teachers said they use to drink them at tailgates before the games. Granted he graduated in the early 2000s.
I imagine that the Bud Foster has been 'invented' by multiple sources. A group of my friends and I decided to make these in the early 2000s during one of his great seasons....it just seems like the right thing to do to honor the best DC in college football.......right? I actually remember a friend of mine making a video of him making one.....I may have to dig that up!
maybe they changed it but the Rail was a pour of every liquor in the rail (the rack immediately behind the bar where they kept the low shelf quality liquor for regular mixed drinks) and a press of every button on the gun. they had to use the big cups (24 or 30 ounce) to handle all of the liquid. seeing that people are getting rails in 12/16 oz cups, i'm guessing some of the liquor got pinched. plus people were dying.
I'm pretty distraught that they've downsized the rail. What's the point now?
I'm fairly certain that it no longer has a spray from every button on the soda gun. So basically, the point now is more alcohol, less fluff.
Trust me there wasn't much soda in the 32oz drink. My liver wishes there had been some more.
had a friend who drank 5 and 1/2 over the course of an entire day one spring. He was blacked out sleeping in the bar at about 6 pm.
I too have hit the 5 rail mark. Mine was Boston College game 2011. Tailgated all day and ended up a little too drunk to go to the game without getting arrested and gave my ticket away to someone. Took a breather for about an hour or 2 by eating and watching the game at Big Al's. Around 6PM I went to TOTS. 5 hours and 5 rails later at 11:00PM I was kicked out of TOTS. Made it home thanks to one of my friends who walked me back where I proceeded to consume an entire bag of hotdog buns left over from the tailgate. Woke up the next day with bruises all over my legs and head and the business card to some guy who worked as one of the heads of research at Langley or something like that. It was a good night.
Yes. From what I remember (which could be hazy from drinking them) it was all the rail liquor ( the cheap stuff) poured into a glass and topped with soda. It was also $5. I never even thought that there was a some sort of order to what they were doing. My friends and I used to do "The Hokie Crawl". Start with a rail and then work our way down Main Street having one drink at every bar.
Let's not forget the original TKP "drunk dial"

thats a keeper right there....
Alright. This Saturday I am going to have an awesome drunk post. I refuse to be left out of the fun.
Best part of this post
Probably should throw away that pillow. Otherwise there might be some sticky situations in the future.
Pure...
Well, this seems like the right place to post this given some of the topics here. I was asked to take a last minute business trip to Europe last Thursday and now find myself in Italy through this weekend.....which means at 2am in Saturday I will be struggling to find some means of watching Vt laying an asswhooping on anOSU (hopefully after a couple bottles of vino and some Grappa, hard to find bourbon in this land). If anyone has any bright ideas on how I can stream, steal, pillage, etc. Access to the live game, I would greatly appreciate it. I think this game is not one to miss.
I have to admit to watching the Gamecast from ESPN on occasion when not having access to the live game. It's pretty depressing.....and a sign of addiction!
I know you've probably already seen it, but here it is, worth a try. Keep trying right up until game time:
watchvt.blogspot.com
He posts a password on TKP usually the day of the game or the day before.
Nope. I will have to check that out. Thanks for the tip, Turkey Leg for you, old sport!
VTPhreak4evr (sp?) is the name to watch for.
