80% Chance of Rain on Saturday ... Wind at 11mph. Still a little early, and I'm just planning what I need to wear for a day of tailgating. But wanted to see what role this could play in the game.
My initial thoughts is that this would just be a wash (Get it...rain, wash?) as both teams are going to be run-heavy, especially early. I do think this could eliminate the deep-play threat (slight VT edge? thought I'd like to unleash I.Ford on a seam route early).
Thoughts?

Hoping for this kind of rain instead

IMO VT has a better chance at the deep ball than OSU. Their DB's were terrible last year and gave up tons of yards against Clemson in the bowl game with deep middle passes.
Rain? I like our odds (looking at you Texas A&M, Mia and Marshall) I have no idea where to look this kind of thing up, but overall, how do we fair in rain games? Is there anyway I can get some statistics on that?
But yeah, our offensive line is really going to have to step their game up if were to depend so heavily on our run game Saturday.
Yeah, ummm, hate to be that guy, but see BC '07 and JMU as bad examples of rain and Hokie Football
I know...
i didn't mention those because they didn't happen.
Yeah. I remember the last time we played JMfU was in '03. The BC game(s) you're referring to must've been the ACCCG where our D snuffed the shit outta that Matt Ryan douche.
I still hate Matt Ryan...
Miami in the rain = win
Yeah, rain really helps VT win big games.

Yeah, he's right. BC came back only after it stopped raining.
The moisture I felt after must have been the single tear rolling down my face.
I didn't wipe it away, I left it there for all to see
I think some sort of waterproof jacket to stay dry, and a bottle of Jim Beam to make sure you don't care if you are wet. Been my VT attire since '00
Defiantly still too early to know for sure. However, it looks like most of that rain is going to clear up hours before kickoff. I'd still take a jacket. Lows will be in the 50's

FWIW, obviously there is room for error, but accuweather is saying the rain will be in the morning (in the form of scattered t-storm) with it likely clearing up in the afternoon and evening.
Read the weekly weather report, ought to clear up as we progress through the evening, by kickoff it'll be pretty clear, that being said the field will still be soaked. Chilly weather, and light to moderate winds blowing in from the north could keep things interesting in the kicking game. This will be a very interesting game
indeed good sir
Does rain equate to no Lebron on the sidelines?
I know a little rain won't keep Bruce away!
