Maddy said, Im really confident in our team. Were a good, capable team this year and I think we can go up there and definitely pull out a W. If we play our best football, we can definitely get that win.

Should Urban Meyer be worried?

Who cares what subUrban thinks
Love the focused-confidence that VT's team has. This is a different bunch of guys this year. Really liking the attitude no matter what happens this Saturday.
From 11 Warriors:
"Matt Burrell is excited to see how the offensive line does against the historic Virginia Tech defense. "I hope to see Coach Warriner and his guys dominate Tech up front," Burrell said of what he is excited for. "I also cannot wait to do the traditional OH-IO with the fans! I hope they know me in Columbus."
Sheesh dude- just commit to OSU already
They get him, we get Sweat, they line up against each other in 2015 in Lane and Sweat beats him every time.
Sounds like a great narrative to me.
OR....
Hokies win decisively Saturday, Sweat commits Sunday, and then Burrell has a change of heart on signing day and decides to stay closer to home so Momma and family and come down to Blacksburg and enjoy.
OR...
The Hokies win so convincingly that ALL the visiting recruits commit on the spot, ALL the cheerleaders are spontaneously impregnated, and Lebron James demands that Cleveland drops "Cavaliers" and becomes the Cleveland Hokies because he was there and he saw what they did.
i like where your heads at...
very plausible. i can see that happening exactly that way.
It's funny because Sam Rogers has the power to do ALL of these things. With some dork magic dipped here and there
No. The dork magic shouldn't be dipped here and there.
Fully dip dat dork magic.
Agreed. One must be fully dipped.
"...and I can feel it, coming in the air (Saturday) night, hold on"
The thing I like about this website is how much optimism everyone has. I also believe we can go in and beat Ohio State. However, I feel like the stories lines on Sunday will be:
VT WINS - Tech beats an Ohio State team that was missing star QB.
OSU WINS - ACC falls further behind other power conferences with yet another loss to a big name team.
I don't think people would actually start talking about us being a solid team again unless we started the year like 8-0 and were in the top 15.
Honestly, I couldn't really care less about the narrative. If we win, I will bask in the glory of that victory. If we lose, I hope we have given our best and we can see elements of offense and defense upon which to build. I always figured 2014 would be a crapshoot in terms of on-field success, but with a win or signs of improvement, I remain optimistic for 2015 and 2016. E$PN can say whatever they want. The only commentators I really care about post their columns here.
^^^THIS! Dude! You nailed it.
Don't ever let the media narrative define you, me, us, Hokie Football, All Hokie fans, etc....
You sir are fully dipped
And I like it!
When we win, I want team prepping for ECU on the plane ride back home.
I agree that will be the narrative initially, but in the long run it will be an important win. The media will be talking about it plenty when Ohio St comes to Blacksburg.
"VT WINS - Tech beats an Ohio State team that was missing star QB."
The way I look at it, even without Braxton the talking heads still think OSU is the 8th best in the country.
True
that may be the narrative, but with a playoff birth at stake we will control our destiny with a win. Talk is cheap and we will get plenty of bandwagon support later in the season if this team is as good as we all hope it is.
I don't want Urban worried until well after kickoff.
With no huge kicker games on the schedule, we can't waste these opportunities to get our feet wet before ACC play.
I will have a great weekend if VT did to OSU what Clemson did to them in the bowl game last year.
Bulletin board material from an 11W commenter.
Obviously, he went to the Applachian State School of Trolling.
