View from football facility blocked

Shane Beamer just posted a picture from the patio of the football facility. Looking towards Lane stadium, it will be completely blocked by the new indoor practice field. Does not look good at all.

It's a pain in the butt on the phone.

  • You have to access twitter via your phone's web browser.
  • Request the desktop version of the website.
  • Then you can click on "more" and get the embed code.

The problem is that some web browsers will just automatically switch back to the mobile website. Or the desktop version is really tiny and the embed code extends off screen.

I know there will be large windows. Perhaps they plan to allow you to see through it from that location

in this shot, all the windows are facing lane, but the patio has the same view as this shot. So unless there are windows on this wall (closest to my monitor) there won't be much of a view. I'm sure they have some plan though.

Looks beautiful to me...looks like.....progress.

Just makes me wish for a location that was higher on the list.

Looks to me like...

"And Recruits, out here is our patio that we use for cookouts and team get-togethers. Oh, would you look at that, our big ass practice facility."

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

That's freakin hilarious!!!

I'm sure recruits, especially from the warmer climates, would appreciate the indoor facility more than the view from a patio they never sit at. Besides, most players go into the lounge to munch on food and play the 6 360s/PS3s or watch sportscenter. No one is staring out the windows. The only complaint about the facility is that is didn't get done sooner and they didn't include offices, which are at a premium right now with all the new hires.

All this means is that we're probably likely to see a further expansion of the football facilities in Cassell after the Indoor Practice facility is complete. Wouldn't be shocked to see a new expansion go where the patio is now, and the patio to be extended across Cassell's backside to be overlooking the outdoor fields. In fact, with the view it would create, and the 'wow' factor it would present to recruits, I'd almost bet money on it happening.

PANIC!

@CraigThompsonVT

Saw the title of the thread and assumed Bucky Hodges was standing in the way.

Or our special teams guys have really been gettin' after it.

"Exit light..."

Or Kendall knocked the view away too.

Wow they're fully dipped into that construction.

They'll use dork magic to preserve the view.

They want to see all those pussy touchdowns.

To me this just shows that this option was not the best, and not just for the views. But the blocking of a view that the coaches and players talk about all the time is a symptom of he larger issue of this not being the ideal spot for the indoor facility.
