This is what Virginia Tech football is about- unheralded recruits like Dadi Nicolas, Woody Baron, and Donovan Riley and walkons like Sam Rogers, Derek DiNardo and Willie Byrn making huge plays. This is why I became a fan.
Terrific effort by the secondary, who was in a tough spot all night. Chuck Clark showed a ton of resiliency. He became a much better player tonight. Jarrett had a huge game. Deon Clarke and Chase Williams tackled better and better as the game progressed, and the scheme was beautiful to get them passing lanes. And guys like Ken Ekanem and Seth Dooley sacrificing themselves to drop into coverage and draw blockers in order to free those linebackers up.
Offensively, what a game plan by Scot Loeffler. People are going to fret about the lack of running game, but Ohio State has guys who are 3rd team defensive tackles who could make an All-ACC team. Brewer had a fantastic game. The line COMPETED all night even when they were completely outgunned. The backs were very strong blocking and ran with effort. The receivers made plays.
This is just fantastic.

Maybe just me, but I kind of like that young blood giving our program an injection of youth/cool. The penalty definitely sucked, especially when they started from the 40 - but that's why we have Bud. This kind of swag and comradery among the young guys could help in recruiting? But fuck it, it was a HUGE win and he scored the game winning TD, basically #757

My grandparents had this set for awhile and NO! It is NOT good for use in the microwave.

You have gotten lucky. Unless there is a big difference that stoneware has occasional air pockets in the dishes that can cause dishes to explode while microwaving.
Ok, who didn't have this set of dishes? It must have been the K-Mart blue light special in 1988. To my best recollection they got really hot in the microwave.

I'd love to have Bosa, OhSTate's frosh DLineman, on our team. That being said, great game by our defense, of course. But also by our OFFENSE, who took what was available, and wasn't afraid to move away from our comfort zone. The running game never got going, so we went with the passing, and feet of Brewer. Brewer is one tough hombre. No wonder he hunts rattlesnakes, the dude does NOT shake! Very, VERY pleased right now. Building block for the season. As Frank said, room to improve, but a great win. The biggest thing I took from this game was Brewer's calm...He wasnt perfect but the game was not to big for him and he kept the offense together...The Defense was solid...And No one is talking about this but the special teams were outstanding...tOSU was not able to get great returns and with the exception of some puntting in the 1st half they were solid.
Defense bailed out the turnovers like nobodies business. Our MVP might be their field goal kicker, would have been an entirely different game if he had been able to make them early on.
I think Brewer just got forged into tougher steel by this game. I can't decide if I want to call him Iceman or Shredder.
I really like what I'm seeing.

Honestly, resiliency from EVERYONE. All areas got beat at some point in time tonight, but no one gave up and everyone competed with heart all night.

You guys, I don't know if you realize this but Ohio St. is really good. They gave us their best shot at home in front of one of their biggest crowd ever and we stood strong.
We have a big game next week but I'm gonna enjoy this one tonight. Bud and Brewer led the charge.
Also, I thought Deon Clarke grew up big time tonight. He seemed to make play after play after play in the 2nd half.
I wish I had it recorded to share but is no one else totally astonished by Facyson and especially Kendall Fuller's completely ridiculous play at cornerback. He committed a few pass interference penalties, but a lot of it was like a cornerback clinic. The dude would move his arm up solely based on where the receiver's eyes were looking, all while running stride for stride with him. There's a million things to go on and on about for hours and hours, oh hundred years, but really though ... that was some intense cornerback play. The outside pass just wasn't a thing.
Also I feel like the pitch-end-around-reverse-fullback-option-throw-run for ten yards deserves SC top 10. WTF was that???

Important Statistics: My 2006 Orange Effect shirt and my maroon pants have been warn two weeks in a row, and have witnessed two victories in a row. Both games, I've drank approximately (exactly) one Pabst Blue Ribbon per half.

Whenever I watch a VT game, I wear a VT headband with the VT symbol over my right temple. Whenever we start playing badly, I find that the symbol has shifted a little and is no longer in its correct location.
Last night after the fumble and subsequent touchdown, I realized I wasn't wearing the headband at all. So I went and got it, rocked it to the side like it's supposed to be rocked, and boom, victory.

What's funny is OSU's offensive coordinator actually is a genius. As in, he was a Presidential Scholarship recipient and is a member of Mensa International. So, Foster basically won a chess match against a guy with a 98th-percentile IQ.
It's also the first time in his coaching career that he's faced Bud Foster.
You know what? On the very first defensive series we had, I thought that we looked like we were right up on the line. Usually you'll see the LB's set back a bit, then the safeties, but I think I saw Kysheon there as well, and wondered if there was anyone over the top. Scared me a little at first, but then I realized Bud must have done that on purpose, so I chilled a bit and waited to see what came out of it.
I believe his fix for mobile quarterbacks was "Blitz more dudes."
