Quote of the Night in Columbus (Sam Rogers)

I felt the need and obligation to share this little run-in I had last night on High St in Columbus at 2am.

Ohio State fan on the streets after the game: Yo, who is number 45?

Me: That would be Sam Rogers.

Ohio State fan: That guy is an absolute STUD.

Yer damn straight! Read em and weep!

This needs to be bumped! I was thoroughly disappointed when he got stopped short a few times, but he wasn't to be denied in the end. I wasn't even paying attention to his blocking.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

It was good.

Sam Rogers' postion just changed. He is now listed as "weapon"

"We judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their behavior" Stephen M.R. Covey

“When life knocks you down plan to land on your back, because if you can look up, you can get up, if you fall flat on your face it can kill your spirit” David Wilson

LOL

"How you doin', Randy?"

No kidding! He was the unsung hero in this game with his blocks, amazing catch(s), everything I love that guy!

-Semper Primus

He IS the 3rd Down Back, when he makes those plays in the passing game. But, weapon seems more appropriate, considering the 100 other roles he plays.

I want to give this a leg but it has 45 upvotes and I'm gonna leave it there

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

Why doesn't Sam line up in the Wild Turkey formation? He can throw it over you or run through you! Another point, at any given time on Offense..the Hokies have 3 QB's (played QB in High School) on the field. Go Hokies!

Touchdown Tech - Bill Roth

Of all the walk-ons we've ever had, Sam Rogers, I think, earned a starting position faster than any of them, is used in more situations than anybody else including most of our scholarship-offered players, and has the full faith and respect of both the Hokie Nation and all of our opponents. I can't tell you how glad I am he is part of our team, and his work ethic may demand a sharing of the lunch pail with the offense.

cannot agree more. he is everything that makes virginia tech great. I know we all want the 5 star blue chip kids but we should never ever lose the opportunity for kids like this to join the team and excel

Agreed. Sam is the kind of guy that makes me proud of the Hokie football program. It doesn't matter if you're a walk-on or a blue-chipper - at Virginia Tech, you will be given an opportunity. Your effort and heart determine what you make of that opportunity. And when you see the field, you will know that you have earned what you've been given, and you have the respect of the coaches and the fans.

"Exit light..."

Corey Martin and another walk on fullback Jarret Ferguson (though he redshirted I believe).

Correy

He joined the team in August and started the first game. I don't think that can be topped.

I was about to come on here and start a Sam Rogers thread, but you already did it....

DUDE was DORK MAGIC LAST NIGHT............

Fully Dipped!

What's
Important
Now

Need to have his over-the shoulder catch on the sideline made into a meme to show how dipped this guy is with the dork magic (i.e. fully-dipped).

He would not be denied his pussy touchdown!

Correy

Sam Rogers is the man that put the Dip in the dip da dip da dip.

Yep, glad to see him rewarded for all his effort............on such a huge stage, as well.
