Right on! I mentioned this in another thread. Seems they don't understand how good the defensive line and scheme they faced are. As well, some are pining for Tressel like a long lost lover. Go Hokies! One game at a time.
Oh, and BTW, this is what happens when your offense doesn't take the night off.

It just seemed like it was maybe the first time I remember both the O and D perfectly balanced. Brewer's success aon third downs and the D's 7 sacks plus 3 picks (loved that the pick 6 was DRiley just because the announcers thought he should get picked on)...
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
If you saw the game, you know the deal. J.T. Barrett and the offense never got going against a defensive line that seemed hell-bent on their destruction, and the defense allowed Michael Brewer and the Hokie offense to complete approximately all of their third downs, especially to their tight ends when they needed it.
This bit from Bobcat04 in that link gave me some chuckles:
That said, the VT team OSU played last night is not going to set the world on fire. They are every bit as young as OSU, started a RS frosh QB on the road in front of 107,000, and will probably be middle of the pack in the ACC. In a few weeks, we will see them struggle against the North Carolinas and Virginias of the ACC world, who even if they lose, will probably present a tougher matchup with VT than OSU did due to their coaching staffs' ability to utilize what talent they possess into a coherent gameplan.
So...that UNC team that almost lost to an FCS team, and a team that makes you say "who?" And he's obviously never actually seen a game coached by Timecop.

It's amazing how much cache UVa gets just for being a charter ACC member and for not having anything else after their name - like Tech, or State, or A&M. I guess it's all those women's field hockey championships that give people a false sense of their football dominance.

"Yea I have read all about the VTECH defense and I watched them today against a FAR inferior team to NAVY. .They have some play makers but they are average. We open it up a bit 30 is expected. They are not on our talent level.period"
I have to say I am really impressed by the majority of the OSU fans and how classy they have been...but to this guy??

Barrett didn't have time to make those throws, and Big Lu, Corey and the rest of the tackles were pushing the pocket all game. They're not a pass heavy offense, run you to death with so many reads and options and take shots over the top with their speed. He's not a pinpoint passer that's going to beat you making throws down the seam or on a crossing route.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
This is true. Very bad play calling. You can't run seams every time. It played right into #DBUs hand. It's much easier to press cover when there is no threat of the WR to break out, in, or back on his route.
Maybe, they don't have these basic plays in their play book? If not, that's just ridiculous, and Meyer's scheme just sucks (i.e. like Paul Johnson, once you figure it out, everybody can beat it, unless you adjust).

Yeah, it never occurred to them that our CB's are awesome. Not everyone can do what we did Saturday night. "Putting your CB's on an island" doesn't even illustrate what Foster did. He put his CB's on another planet. Even his nickel back and backup CB. It was glorious.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Reavis did get abused that night. It looked like he settled down a little bit but it seemed like both teams gameplan was to go after the nickel corners. Willie took theirs to the woodshed and Reavis got picked on early in that game. I still haven't watched the TV copy yet, but it looked like most of the big pass plays came against him.

This Mr Rogers gif may be the very reason gifs were invented. If it is not real, DO NOT tell me, because it is soooooo awesome, lol! I WANT to believe this happened.
Part of me wonders if there is a backstory here. Maybe Mr Rogers got hosed on a contract extension or something and is "subtly"showing his displeasure to the producer in his "special" way, lmao.
Fred Rogers was a Presbyterian minister. He might have done it as a silent signal, but he is the only person I've ever known of that I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn he didn't know what it meant.

I realize it's an OSU fan forum, but the average prediction looked to be at least a 21 pt OSU victory. I'm not sure how they didn't expect to be any worse without Braxton Miller, especially after seeing Barrett in the spring and against Navy, but they didn't seem to adjust expectations at all. Probably the most amusing part is how this prediction went the complete opposite way regarding who would stop the run, pressure the QB, pile up sacks, and get a pick 6.
I see tOSU relying on the run game early. The "Silver Bullets" stop the run and pressure the VT quarterback all night and record 6 sacks. I see V Bell with a pick six and Kwon with a fumble recovery and three tackles for a loss. In the second half JT throws for two scores and runs for another. FINAL SCORE: tOSU 49 - VT 10 (VT gets a late TD on second team defense)

Yeah, Ive been trolling 11w this morning looking at their reactions to being manhandled by a "bunch of much smaller, less athletic group of 3*s and freshmen that don't deserve to be on the field with all the 5* talent they have". There's a lot of finger pointing and woulda, coulda, shouldas and excuse making going on by their fanbase. While I understand their anger and irritability, I cant help but think how huge this win in for our program. It truly say a lot about the level of talent we have on our roster, as well as the maturity and character our team possesses. I think there's very few teams could do what this young Tech team has just accomplished. We just need to continue to work and progress. Im so proud of this team!!!! Its a great day to be a Hokie!!!

The interaction with other fan bases is one of the great things about this site. All the OSU guys who posted here were nothing but respectful. Don't Troll them.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Perhaps, I don't know. I guess my comment is more of a general PSA than a personal rebuke. I have been reading 11W quite a bit, and there have been some Hokies (some of whom post here) who've posted some asshat comments over there and it's disappointing to see, because 1) asshatery in general is a bad look, and 2) it was completely unsolicited. Every OSU fan who commented here was really cool and a welcome addition to the community so it sucked to see TKPers returning the favor by spamming their boards with boorish chest-beating after we won. We're better than that.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
That's because we have a system in play here where if somebody from an opposing team were to ever come on and try to talk shit Joe be giving them the Gallagher. Perhaps 11w should do something similar.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
They use the same self-moderation system we do (Helmet Stickers instead of Turkey Legs). I'm sure if it came to it, their staff could bust out the ban hammer, but that's completely besides the point. The onus isn't on the site staff to police the comments. Their job is to generate good content, which they do. The onus is on us to not be asshats.

If the fanbase in question being trolled is not intelligent or insightful enough to recognize that one or a meager handful of folks from the other fanbase executing the trolling doesn't represent the entire or majority of said fanbase, then I say they deserve it. There's a balance. The majority of the fanbases are respectful to each other while only a handful of both troll each other. No harm done. Balance.

For clarification I was talking about online and verbal. I didn't mean the worst va couch-burning-battery-throwing-cousins-urinating-beer-bottle-throwing trolling that is advertised (and unfortunately encouraged) in a certain province that won't be named in a certain state geographically west of VA.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
It's just good sportsmanship to not be a total asshat-dickhole. You have to be gracious in both victory and defeat. Otherwise you really can't say you dislike any other fan base because you yourself are part of the problem. The joy of victory should be the victory, the partying with friends, and the excitement for what's coming up for your program. The joy of victory should not be the tearing down of another team's fanbase, their team, or their players. The pain of defeat should be the defeat, the disapointment that your hopes weren't fulfilled, and the disapointment that the players on your team didn't attain their goal. The pain of defeat should not be another fan making fun of you, your team, or your team's players.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I'm trying to get imagery of an "asshat-dickhole." The possibilities are astounding. What does the asshat look like? Is it a hat shaped like an ass? or an ass with a hat on it? what kind of hat? And the dickhole, how does that fit in? Is it wearing the hat, a part of the hat, or on top of the hat. Hmm... just so many questions.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
What is so difficult for you to understand about "they have been good to us, don't be a dick to them"? Every single Ohio State person we have dealt with on here has been nothing short of exemplary in behavior towards us and it really makes it difficult to say anything bad about them, which is telling when they have a coach like Urban Meyer. Not to mention how they went out of their way to special order VT logos for their helmets and had their band learn and play the VT Alma Mater during their 2007 Spring Game, only a couple days after April 16th. Oh, and if that's not enough, after we finished beating them, their band played Tech Triumph. Thats. fucking. awesome.
So don't be a dick to them, cause they haven't earned the right to be trolled. As a whole, they are a wonderful fanbase worthy of our respect. When you go over there, you go there as a representative of the Virginia Tech fanbase, and if you make an ass out of yourself, you deserve to be shamed on here. We are not like that, so don't take it upon yourself to do it. We're better than that, I would hope you're better than that as well.

I'm not trolling them. I haven't even been on there. In fact, if you or anyone else bothered to view my posts on threads from the buckeyes on here I was very respectful. But I still think it would ultimately be a dull environment without a small (albeit small) number of trolls from both fanbases (of which I willingly admit I don't participate).

Trolls absorb resources which could be used in a constructive manner.
I'd rather have these guys create and respond to meaningful, inciteful posts rather than have to respond to trolls.
Trolls contribute nothing but hate and frustration. Neither of these things is fun.
Trolls suck. Do not suck and do not promote suckage.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
You know... these bullet points could be applied to this thread right now (of which the poster in question has been a part of numerous events over the past month or so)
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
You missed my most important point or wished to appear obtuse so that you could continue to post.
You did it on purpose because you wanted to do so.
Trolls are the opposite of constructive and helpful. They provide no positive. Trolls troll because they cannot contribute in any meaningful way and so they pretend they provide entertainment in the mental wrestling to feel as if they are contributing.
Trolls suck. They are the equivalent to a bully. The bully may enjoy it but, it makes everyone else uncomfortable. Bullies always hate it when someone they cannot bully comes along and fixes the problem.
Trolls suck, do not invite the anti-bully to this party.

Hmmm, so I agree with almost everything I have read. Perhaps the definition of troll is our stumbling block.
I firmly believe one can be a "classy troll" - What are the thoughts on this:
Someone dropped a 20 in a juke box at OSU and played Enter Sandman over and over and over - they unplugged the box - Classic Troll
TKP flooded a Buckeye newspaper online poll, the results to be printed in the paper, 42% voted for a VT win - Classic Troll
I once posted on the Sabre last year...."Coach London is a tremendous asset to this program. Not only is he building for the future, he used to be a cop. He is a great mentor. We need to support him and his vision. He needs a contract extension, because he is the future and the future is us." .... Classic Troll ?? IDK, I think so, but that one is mine and I am a biased homer.

I disagree that I'm trolling my own fanbase. I haven't been talking any trash or anything towards TKP and Hokie Nations. In fact, I'm defending a fellow Hokie from his own fan base and trying to do so I a respectful manner.

You and everyone on this beautiful community are allowed to think and believe what you want. Although I don't always agree with it, I still respect you having it.

If you encourage one of us to troll on Ohio State, you encourage Ohio State to troll on us. This is a two way street. If you create a culture that is conducive to negative behavior, negative behavior will occur. I do not appreciate you encouraging people to be jerks to people who have been so nice to us. It only encourages those nice people to be jerks to us in the future.
I've been really impressed by Ohio State's fans in this whole thing. I've even felt moved to root for them in the future (when they're not playing us of course). Don't you think we would do a service to ourselves by doing the same for them and for other programs? We can grow the community by having it be a friendly and inviting community, or we can shrink the community by being total jerks. I for one would prefer to grow the community and have fun with fun people watching fun games.
Now there's a novel idea. Football games being fun.

My first thought exactly. So many silly blunders that cost them the league last year. Now it's injuries in the England camp. This is why we can't have anything nice.

I live in Alabama. There are random times when I see someone out, perhaps at WalMart or passing on the street, decked out in their tide gear. I will say, muting the first part..."Troll Tide". Every time, I get a "Roll Tide" back out of reflex. My wife always giggles and punches me in the arm or gooses me or something. Because she is a Hokie, and we are in love. And it is our secret troll down here in hostile territory.

Agree Pete. I was in the Staff section of OSU (got tickets through a coach at OSU). They couldn't have been nicer, before during, and after the game. There were a few jerks, but a man in his 60's walked over to them, said "You should be ashamed to represent OSU in such a manner, you should leave" and the drunk fans (in their 20's) did in fact leave to watch the game from somewhere else. Even during their rally, they gave me good natured ribbing and after the interception to seal it, they let me celebrate and did nothing to tone me down. They knew how I was feeling and let me have that moment. Very classy.

Uhh, guys? You know, the word "trolling" has been around a lot longer than the internet, with its origins in fishing (where it means slowly dragging a fishing line behind your boat). One alternate definition is "carefully and systematically searching an area for something", which is honestly what it sounds like (s)he was doing, if you read the full post. There's no mention of posting anything, just in reading responses. Maybe not the best word to use, considering its more common usage with regards to the internet, and I don't really recollect Tn_Hokie's general posting habits, but I highly doubt that a TKPer would come here bragging about posting offensive things to another website, it just isn't our culture here, unless I've missed something as the site has grown the last few months.
I think we can all agree that it's terrible to be a troll on the internet, regardless of who it is and who they are targeting. I honestly don't see any evidence that this has happened here, and that it's all just a misunderstanding.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Like I said, my comments were more of a general PSA about comments I saw over there, and less about Tn_Hokie. His/Her comment just served as a reminder. Not sure how that ended up being controversial.

I read through all the comments on this subject, and this was my conclusion as well. I recently "harvested" a post from 11 Warriors for our reading pleasure and posted on this forum, I don't consider this trolling and I did not respond in their community directly. To our community's credit, even the responses here to what I copied and pasted was respectful.

Yes. I agree that "trolling" on the internet generally means posting with the intent on making people angry.
My point, though, is that it has other meanings, and I don't know anything about this person but it is quite possible that they don't spend much time on the internet outside of a few specific places, and used this word in a way that is more common in non-electronic environments.
IMO this whole section of comments is based on a misunderstanding and we should really get back on track.

I downvote all trolls. Doesn't matter who they are fans of.
Maybe you are using the word in a way it's not commonly referred to, but unless you specify otherwise, I'll just assume you are making dick posts on 11warriors.

Don't downvote TNHokie. You don't even know what he posted. Also, not cool to downvote TKPers that have less than 1k legs unless they they've posted something outrageously inappropriate (which he hasn't).
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Downvotes are given for inappropriate behavior, as judged by the community. Having some arbitrary number of turkey legs on this site does not grant you immunity. If you admit to being a bad representative of this community, you deserve the disapproval of this community.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
But that's the thing. Nobody even knows IF TNHokie did anything poorly representative of TKP. They're only assuming it. What if trolling he was only lurking around or lighthearted teasing?
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Specifically joining an opponents' site for the purpose of teasing or harassing their fans is the definition of trolling. A few jabs among friends, who know one another and who know each others' intent, is one thing. Doing it with the cloak of anonymity on the Internet makes the person doing it a troll. Just because moderation (via community or admin) exists, it doesn't mean you should force people to invoke it.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
You still have a very 2-dimensional conception of how this all works. Hokie good, everyone else bad. Hokies get excused for any trespass, everyone else gets no slack. TKPer under 1k gets no downvotes, TKPers over 1k are fair game.
You are getting there though. I still have faith you'll come around.
Causing other fans suffering by deliberately taunting their loss is just not the kind of behavior the majority here approve of.
Go to the post on TKP about that article, and consider what your fellow TKPers said there. Being a better fan is directly congruent with being a better person.
It's your call whether you or others decide to continue to be jerks to random strangers. Just don't be surprised when the downvotes come.
I'd just encourage us all to try to be better fans and better people. That's what I'd like to see anyway.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I don't care about downvotes for myself. You misinterpreted my statement: just because I don't think folks with less than 1k legs should get downvoted doesn't mean I think it's fair game for those over 1k legs. I said 1k because after that if someone were to get downvoted it's a little more sustainable for said TKPers. I've said before: I don't like ANYBODY getting downlegged be it -1 legs or over 100k legs unless they say something outrageously inappropriate.
Also
You are getting there though. I still have faith you'll come around.
What the hell does that mean? I told you before don't speak to soon. It doesn't bother me that my posts get faded out. It bothers me that any TKPers get downvoted when they haven't said anything uber offensive especially when they don't have 1k legs.

Thank you for admitting your blatant disregard for our self-moderation system. This thread is yet another that is getting derailed over nonsense that you're perpetuating.

If I had a total disregard for it then I wouldn't agree that inappropriate posts (political, racial, sexist, etc) should be downvoted. I would think they should be permitted.

So, what is interesting here is most of your faded out posts are your opinion. Seems like some just down voted every one of your pays without even reading them. If you are just expressing your opinion on trolling, how is it inappropriate?
The majority don't fall into the inappropriate category based on what I read in the FAQ, so I see a lot of these down votes as misuse. I'm sure I'll get down voted for this post as well, but it must be said and pointed out.

Could I make a few requests please (from this set of posts and elsewhere):
1) Please stop acting like a martyr. This is a very supportive community and we do not "go after" people. Most times people will comment in a very polite way when they disagree with a post. Nobody on this site should feel that they need protection from other users.
2) I would appreciate it if you started spelling the names of other schools correctly every once in a while. By all means you don't have to, but while nicknames are funny, they don't need to be used in every reference to the school.
3) I appreciate that you have been less vulgar and antagonistic in your comments recently and I thank you for that. Please keep it up. I appreciate your humor more when you aren't trying to fit a sexual innuendo into each post.
4) While turkey legs are awesome, I would appreciate it if we didn't make them a focal point of conversation.
Thanks.

I feel like there's a sort of social compact here. We all treat eachother a certain way, and then things work. If a person is behaving in a way that others don't like they can downvote that person, but a part of that social compact is that if downvote someone, you explain to them why you did it so that they can fix it in the future. The trouble is when someone gets downvoted, reads the explaination, and then goes into defense mode. Then the whole system derails itself.

Because this is a free site, where everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't like something someone said, move on. You can't demand that someone do what you want them to. The only people that can are moderators and those running this site. Other than that, if it's not inappropriate, then anyone can say what they want.
And I agree with the social philosophy stated a comment above, however no one does that. Otherwise those faded posts world have a Ton of responses. However, many are just hiding behind the anonymity.
I'd be interested in moderators or Joes take on all of the above madness and chaos.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
First, I'd like to point out that you have changed from "What right do you have to make requests?" to "what right do you have to make demands?"
I'll assume you've made a verbal slip, as nobody is making any demands here. Well, other than those who are demanding that we either ignore comments that reflect poorly on the community, or that we cease responding to them with any sort of criticism.
Either way, your position isn't terribly consistent.
To summarize, you state this is a free site, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, therefore nobody is entitled to the opinion that certain standard of decorum ought to be voiced and an attempt made to encourage others to respect that standard.
That logic don't hunt, if I may butcher a metaphor.
Further, your claim that "no one does that" is incorrect. They may not respond because others have made the points they otherwise might have, and they demonstrate their support of a response via turkey legs given to those responses.
Hence the Ton of turkey legs given to those responses.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Sorry, I was responding via celly while walking to a networking event.
A lot of the faded comments I read expressed an opinion. You may believe that they reflect poorly, but I believe a lot of them were expressing an opinion. If the rule for down voting is that the post or comment is inappropriate, with the previously mentioned list, then the posts I read were not either of those, thus, should not have been down voted. If someone disagrees with someone else's opinion, then on well. You shouldn't down vote. You can provide a comment to either agree or disagree, or upvote if you really like it. That is part the standard of decorum mentioned for this site. I just don't see why if you disagree, rather than provide constructive debates, people just down vote, which is the incorrect use.
As for "no one does that", I was referring to someone posting a comment about why they down voted. If you notice, some of those faded posts have a lot of down votes, but one or two comments. Honestly it seemed that some would just down vote every single post, again, without any explanation. Yeah, there were a couple, but not a lot.
I'm not for trolling, have other things to focus on. To each his own. However, I've noticed in the last 6 months or so, the down voting has gotten a bit out of control. In my eyes, down voting like this, or a lot of other cases when it is not warranted is disrespect and not in good sportsmanship, going along with the previous referenced standard. Especially if you don't own up to why, or provide input. All of this crazy down voting has actually started to cause me to not want to be a part of TKP anymore.

I'm just guessing on this one (can't speak for everyone), but after reading and getting involved in a few of these seemingly weekly tangents, it seems like people are just tired of Hokieknight's shit and are expressing it in the only ways they know how. This is the same guy that asked if Robin Williams was in adult films on the day of his death, and the same guy who openly wonders about and described Bud Foster's bowel movements, and will defend Marcus Vick to the nth degree (admittingly because he won games), but has routinely been the first to question and admonish the behavior and academic standings of current players. People are just getting tired of the pleas to clean it up being met with essentially a 'make me' and are acting in the only way they know. So its not just this thread, its the culmination of a lot of these threads over the past month or so.

It is remarkable to me that you constantly find a couple lines you disagree with in a post, and focus on those rather than reply to the overall context of what was said.
So you ignore the lessons Frank Beamer would teach you, and ignore the examples of your fellow TKPers, and try to argue things that aren't even the topic of discussion.
I'm going to respond all the same, but I really would like your reaction to the article I linked in my previous post. If you refuse to consider that, you are simply participating in bad faith: Demanding answers for every trite aside you choose to chase, while ignoring the contextually rich responses you are getting.
SO: I haven't misinterpreted your statements vis-a-vis who is a permissible recipient of downvotes in the least. I pretty well have it nailed, as your response demonstrated. It is you who is ignoring the many explanation both in the written community guidelines, and the less formal etiquette described by everyone who has responded to you on this topic.
Your response is patently ridiculous. You say that nobody under 1k legs should be downvoted, because then they might not survive the downvotes to continue to post trollish things. You have previously admitted that you didn't post trollish things until you reached a certain leg count so that you would have immunity to the community policing standards.
In doing this you show contempt for those who enjoy this community and both its codified and its less formal standards of behavior. And you show contempt for the concept that the community should be able to self-police those standards of conduct.
You claim that I am assuming TN_Hokie made bad statements on 11Warriors. I say I am taking him at his word, and the only assumption is that he/she has comprehension of the standard definition of the very word being used within the context it is being used.
We have gone down this road before: You don't get much latitude or benefit of the doubt that your ex post facto definition of a word should be accepted AFTER the original post and the context of it is clearly at odds with your new explanation.
If the OP wants his legs back, he can make his own explanation. I am always willing to reward good behavior.
What the hell does that mean? I told you before don't speak to soon.
This means, whether you accept to believe it or not, you have modified your behavior over the past couple months or so in some ways, this current imbroglio notwithstanding. I encourage you to embrace that.

I'm not a one dimensional TKPer. I post comments that are well-received and ones that are lesso. Do you really think that this community affected any change or modification in my behavior? I will respond to that with what I said to Egbert (Frye): You and everyone one else on this beautiful community are entitled to think and believe whatever you want. I may not always agree, but I certainly respect your ability to have it. I'm not sorry for defending TNHokie and I'm certainly not sorry for defending the small handful of cyber and verbal trolls that exist and will continue to exist out there.

So, per my explicit request in the post you are responding to, you are simply participating in bad faith.
I'm going to respond all the same, but I really would like your reaction to the article I linked in my previous post. If you refuse to consider that, you are simply participating in bad faith: Demanding answers for every trite aside you choose to chase, while ignoring the contextually rich responses you are getting.
Understood, and will respond accordingly going forward.
You keep saying you are not 1-dimensional.

Ok I read both. It's a fantastic article. Found the bit about colonoscopy and Mitchell pretty funny. But I'm not 100% sold on the fact that there are better fanbases than others (aside from ours being the best and wvu and C'ville community college being the worst). I for one am glad there are cyber trolls out there everywhere that get a rise out of folks because frankly, I find it entertaining (and I know I'm not the only one).

Really? Care to elaborate what about it you don't buy in to?
Because, not to put too fine a point on it, I think your comments pretty clearly demonstrate you don't understand it at all, that you don't even know what it is you are missing, and that you are too proud to admit it.
To which you will dodge with "you are entitled to your beliefs" to act as though you are taking some high road your previous comments indicate you to be utterly unfamiliar with.

Don't downvote an opinion. Downvote people who are being asshats.
If you're being an asshat, it doesn't matter if you have 1 leg or 10,000 legs, a downvote is warranted. Coming on here and bragging about trolling on another site that the vast majority on here agrees doesn't deserve it is being an asshat.

I'm pretty sure Hokienight has just trolled all of us about trolling. By definition, that's just some upper-level trolling. While I don't support trolling, I am surprised how much we just feed.

Bingo, Knight knows what he's doing and he think he enjoys pushing peoples buttons. He's not going to change so I would quit wasting time on him if some of his post's bother y'all. If he post's something really outrageous (Racist, sexist etc, etc) then I'm sure Joe would come around and ban him for good.

Go ahead. See if you can rally the community to take away 100 or whatever of my legs (not anyone else's). I didn't pitch a bitch fit any of the other times my comments were (barely) faded out. What makes you think this or any other time will be different? Have at it. See if I care.

It seems weird to say because they were the Top 10 team, but they were better than I thought they were. I didn't think Barrett was such a good runner. I didn't think they would totally shut down our tailbacks.
Well, I guess I also thought their tailbacks would be a threat, I expected Montre Wilson to give us fits and I never expected their OL would totally melt down under the pressure.
But, looking at their schedule, I would be surprised if they don't finish 10-2 or 9-3 at the worst. They are probably 10+ point favorites on PSU, Michigan and Cinncy.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Yes. I agree.
I also do not think their OL is all that bad.
But when Bud assigns 2 more rushers then they have blockers, on almost every single play, then it can seem like we did, on every single play.
When their offense starts to figure it out, we get a ball hawk out there really deep on 3 rd downs and tell him to ignore the receiver. Watch the QB and 100% play the pass. Jarrett's job was to simply catch the long ball. That's why he was so deep, so he did not have to run back, wait for it to come in.
So, give them way too many rushers every single down then, when they were getting used to that speed, take out a rusher and put him in center field to catch the pass they were going to make.
It was beautiful. When I saw that In the game, that lightbulb clicked on. We used our guys exactly where their strengths were. There are 2 things Jarret excels at hits and hawking.
We should call him Safety Hawking.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
It seemed like their OL just got flustered in the fourth QTR. They were just not even seeing guys. It wasn't just 6 sacks in the last 9 minutes, those sacks were clean runs at Barrett. Even the non-sacks, he had pressure (Ekanem slapped his back as he slid past him on the 2nd Jarret interception). I didn't think their OL was that bad, they just ran into a buzzsaw.
By the way, regarding the crowd, I think we've seen this at Lane recently. When you have a big, loud crowd that is supposed to factor into the game, that gets the road team pumped too. And if the road team can punch the home team in the mouth, that huge crowd sitting on their hands becomes a negative to the home team really quickly. It's like 107,000 (or 66K at Lane) disapproving parents.

Hokie nation: I am as pumped as anyone from our big win Saturday night...we have every reason to be optimistic...this could be a VERY special season. But...one big win does not a season make. Remember Proverbs 16:18 and lets get ready for the Pirates.

The legend of MV7 is alive and well on 11Warriors:
The qb in my estimation did not hold the ball too long. When he came out of his 3 to 5 step drop dude was looking down a fully loaded barrow. Vick couldn't even escape what J.T. had to endure, No way. Our coaching staff has to design quick trigger plays to offset this type of insane pass rush. J.T. developed a reputation in high school as a master of the screen pass. Implement that as a counter weapon.
Although I'd disagree and say Vick probably would have escaped most of what J.T. did, and then would have run for touchdowns.
And I don't think I'm being a homer when I say that. He was just that good.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Michael Vick was indeed just that good. The statistics will never show his impact. It was visual, visceral. Michael Vick was/is a transcendent athlete. So was Bo Jackson. They only come along rarely in sports. Michael Vick was/is unique. And he is ours.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Michael Vick DID escape that kind of pressure. Hell, he basically dealt with that kind of pressure all game long in the title game, and his elusiveness and ability to make big gains out of nothing in that one game probably got him the #1 pick in the draft status.

Ugh... I came to read more discussion about 11W comments and it's 50 comments trying to once again educate hokieknight on how not to suck. We need a warning sign on the discussions column for this shit. so tired of it.

I've never had herpes but from my understanding its very similar to this. It flares up randomly, is annoying as hell, and there is no way to get rid of it.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Why dont you guys just ignore him? I personally never find his posts offensive, but it seems to me like you guys just feed right into him.
The biggest problem with this community isn't hokienight, its the constant bickering about down voting, seems like every single thread gets off track because people start complaining about it, and its why i rarely post anymore, hell i've wanted to say this for like a year.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
As best I recall, he was ignored for a very long time until his antics started regularly crossing the lines of decorum, both the posted guidelines, and the standards that have organically evolved among like-minded TKPers
So why did we stop ignoring him?
Because it is our community. All of us. We get to have some small say in how we'd like to see members comport themselves. We'd like to maintain an inclusive, friendly atmosphere.
But then, if you'd been reading any of the comments you are so tired of, you'd have known all that, since the reasons have been given in every single dust-up he's instigated.
So to turn your question around: Why didn't you ignore this? I suspect it is because you saw behavior you didn't agree with, and felt like making an effort to change that behavior.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
We get to have some small say in how we'd like to see members comport themselves. We'd like to maintain an inclusive, friendly atmosphere.
That small say is the downvote button. If you don't think the conduct is appropriate, then vote it down. That's all you need to use and posts will be blurred out so that you do not have to deal with them. There is ZERO reason to have 50+ posts arguing over something completely unrelated to Hokie Football, and it is a HUGE pain to have to scroll through threads to determine what is insightful information. It's already annoying enough seeing the "I couldn't agree more" type posts that add nothing that an upvote can't already accomplish.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Well, as HKfx2 says often and sincerely: I respect your opinion. I just disagree with it.
I disagree that the downvote button is the only acceptable way to show disapproval. We have comment boxes that allow us to type in them for more than just football.
I disagree with ignoring comments when the statements are so egregious, and are damaging to the TKP brand. e.g., Espousing the opinion that TKPers should be cheered on if they troll the fan site for a team we just beat. A fan site with members who joined this board and treated TKP and its commentators with utmost respect.
If you don't think there is an imperative in a community, even an online one, to encourage good behavior, then you are free to refrain.
I and many others think that there is just such an imperative. This community is better than just about any other site I've been on. The default position on this site is respect and the benefit of the doubt for others. You have to work hard to get the kind of responses HKfx2 has been getting.
If it's worth anything to you, I apologize for the stress my actions cause you. I hope I never feel the imperative to respond to another of these types of things. But I'm guessing it will happen again.
The good news is, this distraction seems pretty much over this time. Hopefully it'll be a long time before the next one.

agreed, all the posters that continued that one thread of comments was joke. The title of the thread was Eleven Warriors is melting down, where in reality, this thread was melting down.

I honestly try to ignore him. I am ignoring this particular trolling of his as much as possible, but honestly it just rubs me the wrong way. For myself, I am way to busy to partake in much online antics (I'm sure others are as well) due to running my own company and family life with a 3 year old, so TKP is really the only place I come to be part of a community. I don't facebook, twitter or anything because I just don't have the time. So I like to focus only on Hokies and this great site and overwhelmingly great community. So to see one person openly and obviously sabotage threads just to get his troll jollies off really gets to me. There have been others on here that did the same and they were banned. I'm not calling for him to be banned, but honestly I wouldn't mind if he was if only to not see this again or get into another trivial and useless attempt to educate this jerk.
So while I agree with you, I guess I just see it differently. I've tried many times to get hokienight to understand reasonable and factual things. yet he can't or won't, he will purposefully focus on one item that is not the main point to make some asinine point of irrelevance to change the conversation from factual information, fakes indignation at downvotes and now trying to be a martyr for others to downvote him, and thoroughly enjoys grabbing as much attention as possible. While many of his posts are not by definition against the community guidelines the continued douchery should be downvoted every time IMO.
That OSU fan said it best, every fanbase has their assholes. Seems true for TKP as well.

it does sometime amaze me how some of the posters here will continue to respond to posts that have nothing to do with VT or hokie football, don't like what they said or disagree or don't like people "trolling", fine, downvote and be done with it. Some posters will never get it. Constantly responding to every single post makes the topic a pain in the ass sometimes to scroll for 5 minutes (sarcastic!) just to see the next new post about something relevant to the OP or VT/Hokie football related. Just my .02
EDIT: When I said "some posters will never get it, I was refering to the "trollers" or "Hokieknightfx2" for this example

Not sure if this is here yet or not but this was a good film breakdown they did over on their site about our pressure. Not as in-depth as french but not bad.
That's a good read and I always like seeing comments like this:
Experienced offensive line, more developed receivers, and Braxton (get well soon!) could make next year's game significantly easier more competitive than this year's game was.
I will never underestimate a Hokie team again as long as Foster is their DC.
Not in a "dick-head, beating my chest kind of way" but in a "I'm always amazed at how good Foster really is" kind of way.

Don't think I am singling you out, but I find these kind of comments on here hilarious.
If you don't want to read this thread, don't read it. There are 20 other active ones on here right now for you to waste your time at work away on. If you don't want to be a part of it, you don't have to click. Its not like this site is TSL where a disagreement like you see above truly does derail the entire website, as there are no threads to follow, and everything is displayed loud and proud on the front page where you can't not see it. On here, each thread is its own page. At worst, the discussion is keeping the thread at the top of the Tracker. So if you keep coming into here and getting annoyed that you keep running into the same argument, at a certain point, you only have yourself to blame.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Ugh, as someone who wants to read everything on the site, I don't have a filter that says 'This thread is just a back and forth that isn't worth reading'
I open all the threads. I try to read all the comments. The best I can do is keep "N"-ing my way until I get to comments that have value.
There are plenty of places on the internet where it's just arguments. When we start going down a rabbit hole like this at work, in a meeting, we say, "Let's take this discussion offline," so as not to take up everyone's time. So why not just exchange email addresses and have that discussion offline?
This isn't necessarily directed at you, Alum07, but it is frustrating to see the same argument pop up over and over again. I just try not to feed the disagreements.

Oh, no, I get what you're saying, but on a forum like this, its pretty easy to tell when a conversation is devolving to the point where its not worth it to check up on it anymore, and to just follow others. As I said, on here, its pretty easy to ignore a conversation once you've gotten fed up with its direction, as opposed to somewhere like TSL where its in your face no matter what.
If this was a thing that went from discussion to discussion and really brought the board down, thats one thing, but its pretty well contained.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I wish we could edit the title of the thread when this kind of thing happens, like append "Troll Thread" when it devolves so I know not to click on it. Might not work anyway, because I tend to 'open in new tab' with control+click on the "new" tag in the tracker, but it would help.

Slightly off-topic, but these hoos are sounding pretty confident on their Richmond radio show. They barely know the names on their roster. They had difficulty knowing the difficulty between FBS & FCS.
I can't wait for us to take them to the woodshed on Black Friday.

I mean, lets be honest, the fact we even played them close in basketball was somewhat reassuring to me over these last couple years even though we were in the shitter and they were busy winning the conference and getting #1 seeds in the NCAA tourney.
When you suck as much as LOLUVa football does, you have to go with whatever you can to make yourself feel better

I don't know... only about 3 people said our win was better than beating BYU at home, and 2-3 were supporting it due to, paraphrasing, "OSU being horrible and Barrett being young." Frankly, they are even dumber than I imagined if they think it's comparable. They barely won AT HOME in a storm-delayed deluge of a game to an 8-5 team with a QB making his 2nd start (same number as JT Barrett). Thankfully nobody else in the world would consider it comparable unless OSU completely implodes this season, so whatever.

Let's not kid ourselves: Hoos just don't know or understand football and winning at it in general. I've watched games with my many hoo relatives and friends in the past, and I can reach no other conclusion.

On 910am's "Tech Talk Tuesday" tonight, one of the last callers was a Hoo. He greatly complimented the Hokies on Saturday's performance, noted how we took an Urban Meyer team to the woodshed at Ohio State, and said he believes Brewer is the "first pure QB we've had since Druckenmiller." Wow.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
My guess is that he meant drop back old school type QB. That would ignore a couple of mediocre guys we had, but I guess that is what he was trying to say - mobile QBs who move outside the pocket don't impress him as being 'pure QBs'.

If I have one rule in life it is to be consistent! Set a precedent and stick to it.. IF you are truly not hypocritical Then how can you say " VT respect = NO TROLLING... however I see a 100% LOLUVA auto-troll policy in effect from everyone on this site. That isn't very consistent with the views I see in this thread...... Just sayin'.... food for thought. I troll people, but I do it with a shit eating grin and being "overly modest" at the same time. I was texting one of my buddies whose an OSU fan before the game and asked him how many "pick 6's" he thought Barrett would throw and then how many INT's he would throw. It was nice to see both come to fuition in the game.

"Really, if I'm a parent watching this shit, I'm telling my kid - "you need to consider other options". This is not a program on the rise. In fact, it's in decline - 1 and 3 in the last 4 games. A great showing by the PATHETIC FUCKING B1G tonight. Unreal."

Right on! I mentioned this in another thread. Seems they don't understand how good the defensive line and scheme they faced are. As well, some are pining for Tressel like a long lost lover. Go Hokies! One game at a time.
Oh, and BTW, this is what happens when your offense doesn't take the night off.
I know, two perfect regular seasons get your coach on the hot seat every time, right?
I'm not gonna lie, their tears taste delicious right now.
Tears are nature's lubricant
I'm glad I don't have your love life
lol if you only knew...
Sorry, sketch, I had to
Can we get an alum mute button?
It sounds like there's a backstory here...
lol yup.
Sketch and I are members on another site. The inside jokes are flying right now
Indeed. FWIW, the best schaudenfreude I get is perusing the GT boards after a Hokie win.
It just seemed like it was maybe the first time I remember both the O and D perfectly balanced. Brewer's success aon third downs and the D's 7 sacks plus 3 picks (loved that the pick 6 was DRiley just because the announcers thought he should get picked on)...
Yea, they were all over him, sweet justice for ESecPN!
Sptms played great as well. Really played well in all phases.

Reading that thread earlier in the week made this win even sweeter.
From their front page post of twitter reactions:

That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out objection.

I found that post to be an excellent Sunday morning read. The 11w author has fabulous vocabulary and excellent visual writing.
Thanks for sharing!
This bit from Bobcat04 in that link gave me some chuckles:
So...that UNC team that almost lost to an FCS team, and a team that makes you say "who?" And he's obviously never actually seen a game coached by Timecop.
Also, Michael Brewer is a RS Junior. Check your facts before you post...
Srsly, what is this bro doing?
It's amazing how much cache UVa gets just for being a charter ACC member and for not having anything else after their name - like Tech, or State, or A&M. I guess it's all those women's field hockey championships that give people a false sense of their football dominance.
How about this comment from the link above?
"Yea I have read all about the VTECH defense and I watched them today against a FAR inferior team to NAVY. .They have some play makers but they are average. We open it up a bit 30 is expected. They are not on our talent level.period"
I have to say I am really impressed by the majority of the OSU fans and how classy they have been...but to this guy??
my favorite:
"I just don't understand how they're not open when VT is consistently rushing 6-7 players of defense..."
#DBU
They're pretty sure it's because their OC didn't call any plays over the middle, and never does.
You mean Chuck Clark.
I was about to say...what game was I watching? I don't remember seeing CJ at all
CJ got in when Jarrett was hurt for a bit and played pretty well. At least not well enough that I noticed him negatively.
Edit: I HAD to know:
http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/mrrogers.asp
and "Mr McFeely"? Really, now????
lol you can just tell from the look and his grin that he knows what he's doing and he's damn well proud of it
Fred Rogers was a Presbyterian minister. He might have done it as a silent signal, but he is the only person I've ever known of that I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn he didn't know what it meant.
It took until page 4 to find a prediction that Tech would win. All of the other comments were hilariously wrong. (Well a large majority)
This is something straight off of SNL "da Bears" skits.... " Hokies negative 22 Da Bucks 176 (lower score since Braxton is out)"
My favorite:
"Yea I have read all about the VTECH defense and I watched them today against a FAR inferior team to NAVY. .They have some play makers but they are average. We open it up a bit 30 is expected. They are not on our talent level.period"
You clearly didn't read anything about our defense...
Its a great day to be a Hokie!!!
why troll after winning?
better than trolling after losing
The interaction with other fan bases is one of the great things about this site. All the OSU guys who posted here were nothing but respectful. Don't Troll them.
Oh come on. Let him have his fun. I doubt he's being that disrespectful or offensive.
That's because we have a system in play here where if somebody from an opposing team were to ever come on and try to talk shit Joe be giving them the Gallagher. Perhaps 11w should do something similar.
Well then it's settled. They get downvoted for douchbag comments. Don't see what the problem is.
The problem is that one asshat comment by a VT fan reflects poorly on the entire VT fan base. For all of us who aren't asshats, this doesn't sit well.
We won the game, their fans were great to us... why can't we just let it go? No reason to troll.
Balance.
Just stop...
Balance?

Here!
What would the postgame environment be like without a few fans (on both sides) trolling each other? That would seem kinda dull to me.
Well let's see, you wouldn't have Alabama fans tea-bagging LSU fans for starters. And in the end, all you do is make yourself look like a jackass.
You also wouldn't have idiots poisoning trees.
For clarification I was talking about online and verbal. I didn't mean the worst va couch-burning-battery-throwing-cousins-urinating-beer-bottle-throwing trolling that is advertised (and unfortunately encouraged) in a certain province that won't be named in a certain state geographically west of VA.
Hey now, east of Virginia is the shore, and I can assure you that we do not participate in such activities on Delmarva.
Whoops.
I thought he said West. Yea I'm from the Shore too, and we are nothing like that lol.
I'm from West Virginia and I'm nothing like that.
You might want to re-calibrate that compass of yours, there, knight
That looks like a purple condom with a face. Hilarious but disturbing.
Man I hate Maine! Those lobster eating jackals! (It is east longitudinally. Ok I tried.)
This website is by no means dull, and we seemingly make it happen without having to deal with trolls from elsewhere.
I guess I don't see the correlation between having a good community and needing someone to piss in the water cooler to make it happen.
You know... these bullet points could be applied to this thread right now (of which the poster in question has been a part of numerous events over the past month or so)
Trolls provide free entertainment which provides a smirk and the potential for a laugh (which makes people feel good and is healthy).
No, trolls are annoying. This is you right now:
This is everyone else:
Word to the wise
this made me laugh out loud at the office.....

THIS^^^thank you.
Trolling your own fanbase is not being a classy troll though.
I disagree that I'm trolling my own fanbase. I haven't been talking any trash or anything towards TKP and Hokie Nations. In fact, I'm defending a fellow Hokie from his own fan base and trying to do so I a respectful manner.
Being a troll isn't defined by talking trash. It's generally just being a nuisance and attempting to get a rise out of people in some manner.
You seriously think I'm defending TNHokie just to get a rise out of the community? Well I'm sorry but you're incorrect in that assertion. I literally don't think he should be downvoted.
No, I think you are trolling to get a rise out of the community.
I think the topic is irrelevant.
I think it's funny and entertaining when trolls troll trolls. I'm not the only one.
They weren't trolling us first... And you may not be the only one, but that doesn't mean that we have to like it, condone it, or accept it.
True but that also means you can't stop, eradicate or prevent people from enjoying or partaking in it either.
Wow, it really is all about you, isn't it.
This is as close to an admission of trolling this site as I've seen. Poor form, sir... poor form
Again you are certainly welcome and entitled to your belief which I respectfully disagree.
All right guys. New plan. We just ignore this jerk.
^^agreed.
and completely OT, but look how small this window is!!
And yet still larger than the number of fans at the LOLUVa Spring Game
The tiny boxes are so cute.
How thin can these things go?
Thats what she said
Giggidy
Can I break this comment section? Or make my comment long enough so that it will take ages to scroll down? I think I may be on the right path. But I still need to add some text. I think this should do it, but little more could be helpful as well.
True, but that also means you can't stop me from calling you and other trolls pieces of shit, assholes, and downvoting you either. You seem to be the child who is told 'Don't mess with our neighbor who has been nothing but nice to us' and hears only 'Mess with our neighbor who has been nothing to us'.
Nobody's stopping you. But I haven't been on any of their sites to troll them. I just get entertained when people do. For me it's about entertainment.
him:

you:
Woah woah woah, why do you have to drag my Reds into this?
Wasn't a shot at the Reds. Promise. As a Magpie, I have no rope to drag anything anywhere! Just a nice goal.
My first thought exactly. So many silly blunders that cost them the league last year. Now it's injuries in the England camp. This is why we can't have anything nice.
That's Pepe in goal so it was at least 2 years ago, but I digress.
Oh yeah, and this one is MY FAVORITE....
Actually, between the two VT wins options, we got it over 50%
No, we show class and don't be trolls.
If you don't want someone to burn your couch, then don't burn theirs.
We have the opportunity to gain friends,of these people and they seem very class.
We need to show that we are also a class act.
Golden rule- Do Not Troll.
Golden rule do not troll , but exceptions can be made for the new U .
Classy trolls stay classy
Around my corner of the interwebz, we call that "lurking."
Downvotes are given for inappropriate behavior, as judged by the community. Having some arbitrary number of turkey legs on this site does not grant you immunity. If you admit to being a bad representative of this community, you deserve the disapproval of this community.
But that's the thing. Nobody even knows IF TNHokie did anything poorly representative of TKP. They're only assuming it. What if trolling he was only lurking around or lighthearted teasing?
Specifically joining an opponents' site for the purpose of teasing or harassing their fans is the definition of trolling. A few jabs among friends, who know one another and who know each others' intent, is one thing. Doing it with the cloak of anonymity on the Internet makes the person doing it a troll. Just because moderation (via community or admin) exists, it doesn't mean you should force people to invoke it.
The he doesn't know the meaning of the word trolling and he should not use it incorrectly.
I don't think trolling is 1 dimensional. I don't think it is defined by a single definition.
Think back on that article an OSU fan did on Frank Beamer. Think about how Frank would feel about trolling other fans. And try to act accordingly.
Also
What the hell does that mean? I told you before don't speak to soon. It doesn't bother me that my posts get faded out. It bothers me that any TKPers get downvoted when they haven't said anything uber offensive especially when they don't have 1k legs.
And therein lies the problem
While your sentiment is refreshing I was kinda hoping nobody would notice this. I don't want anyone getting downvoted (especially on my account). Hopefully they'll just continue to go after me instead.
Thanks.
Not to sound like an ass, but what right do you have to make requests on other members?
I feel like there's a sort of social compact here. We all treat eachother a certain way, and then things work. If a person is behaving in a way that others don't like they can downvote that person, but a part of that social compact is that if downvote someone, you explain to them why you did it so that they can fix it in the future. The trouble is when someone gets downvoted, reads the explaination, and then goes into defense mode. Then the whole system derails itself.
We all have that right Low Brau. Why would we not?
Because this is a free site, where everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't like something someone said, move on. You can't demand that someone do what you want them to. The only people that can are moderators and those running this site. Other than that, if it's not inappropriate, then anyone can say what they want.
And I agree with the social philosophy stated a comment above, however no one does that. Otherwise those faded posts world have a Ton of responses. However, many are just hiding behind the anonymity.
I'd be interested in moderators or Joes take on all of the above madness and chaos.
This times a million. So tired of it.
I have been a fan of yours since you first came on. I practically upleg everything you post.
Thanks. I really admire your passion for VT and I think it would be fun to grab a beer if you're ever in the DC area.
PS I reread my comment and I may have been a tad preachy. Sorry I got caught up in soapboxing.
Screw the beer I'll do a shot (or 2). But yeah, my wife's fam lives up in Alexandria. Would love to the next time.
PS You weren't harsh at all. Such very polite.
So, you as a "troll" don't like how are other "trolled", but your form of "trolling" is ok, and something you are proud of.
See Griffer's post.
So you read it all and completely missed the point?
Hint: It wasn't about a colonoscopy or who had the best fanbase.
No I understood it fine. I just don't 100% buy into it.
I said I don't buy 100% into it. That doesn't mean I don't agree with most of it.
But does anybody even know what he posted? I think the content bares discernment.
I'm pretty sure Hokienight has just trolled all of us about trolling. By definition, that's just some upper-level trolling. While I don't support trolling, I am surprised how much we just feed.
If anything I at least took some of the attention and heat off of TNHokie. That's good enough for me.
I haven't been on here long but that has to be some sort of record on how many legs lost in just one thread.
Go ahead. See if you can rally the community to take away 100 or whatever of my legs (not anyone else's). I didn't pitch a bitch fit any of the other times my comments were (barely) faded out. What makes you think this or any other time will be different? Have at it. See if I care.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
One of their comments was complementary: "What I took from this game is I want our defense to attack like VA Tech's. "
Yes.
I am stoked about this year even more so now seeing that we have am offense to go with the defense we have!!! GO HOKIES!!
Welcome! Glad you're here!
Hokie nation: I am as pumped as anyone from our big win Saturday night...we have every reason to be optimistic...this could be a VERY special season. But...one big win does not a season make. Remember Proverbs 16:18 and lets get ready for the Pirates.
Proberbs 16:18
Lest ye be douchbags, remember to focus on the next game.
I thought it was the one about 'God must be a Hokie because He turns the leaves orange & maroon in the fall'.
Frank 3:16
The legend of MV7 is alive and well on 11Warriors:
Although I'd disagree and say Vick probably would have escaped most of what J.T. did, and then would have run for touchdowns.
And I don't think I'm being a homer when I say that. He was just that good.
Michael Vick was indeed just that good. The statistics will never show his impact. It was visual, visceral. Michael Vick was/is a transcendent athlete. So was Bo Jackson. They only come along rarely in sports. Michael Vick was/is unique. And he is ours.
Michael Vick DID escape that kind of pressure. Hell, he basically dealt with that kind of pressure all game long in the title game, and his elusiveness and ability to make big gains out of nothing in that one game probably got him the #1 pick in the draft status.
That and also the fact that he's Michael Vick.
Michael Vick could run around in the shower and not get wet.
Case in point

Vick catches food for starving cheetahs as part of his community service.
Downvote everyone partaking in it and move on. Waste of people's time, even if you think you are "right" and need to teach a guy a lesson.
The Great Shitwar of 2014. Yeehaw isn't it fun
I don't think you can change a person's behavior (you certainly aren't changing mine). That's up to individuals.
11 Warriors is melting down.
According to what I'm seeing here, it looks more like TKP is melting down
I'll tell you who might melt down soon.....
Photoshop - it'll get after ya'
Agreed, Horse. TKP needs to simmer down on this crap! Focus on ECU! i.e. mascot mock, French's posts, fifthfuller, etc, etc.
Petey Pirate has syphillis
I may know how that happened...
Whoa!

Yep, love child too...

it does sometime amaze me how some of the posters here will continue to respond to posts that have nothing to do with VT or hokie football, don't like what they said or disagree or don't like people "trolling", fine, downvote and be done with it.
Please don't downvote him on my account. If you're upset just take it out on me.
Not sure if this is here yet or not but this was a good film breakdown they did over on their site about our pressure. Not as in-depth as french but not bad.

They actually link an image of the inverted cover 2 from TKP.
That's a good read and I always like seeing comments like this:
Not in a "dick-head, beating my chest kind of way" but in a "I'm always amazed at how good Foster really is" kind of way.
edit: moving this original post to another thread about Game Experience.
Thank you, Hokieknightfx2! We always do our best to beat that team up north. :)
Welcome and beat Meeshigun! I wasn't there but my mother was speaking at a convention on campus there a few years ago. She said she'd never seen anything like it.
as much as i just love watching people argue semantics, i wish we could get back to legitimate discussion so i can more effectively dodge responsiblity at work.
Hey congrats on 10k legs, btw.
Want a laugh? Here is a BooHoo comparing their "marquee" win over BYU with our win this weekend. You really can't make this stuff up.
http://chat.virginia.sportswar.com/message_board/football/2014/September...
To be fair... that guy got promptly taken to task over that comment
You're right. But still...talk about reaching for anything to hold over a team that's dominating you.
In stark contrast to most other team's blogs...that format was not god awful.
My guess is that he meant drop back old school type QB. That would ignore a couple of mediocre guys we had, but I guess that is what he was trying to say - mobile QBs who move outside the pocket don't impress him as being 'pure QBs'.
You're crediting a Hoo with having the capacity for understanding football!?!? Think about it...
I feel for them. The game reminded me of the early ttaylor days, and even when we got Lucked by Stanford in the orange bowl
I feel like we Stanforded them with our TEs.
Drives people NUTZ....
I can NOT post memes on this site... maybe im getting old and less tech savvy idk... but it makes me sad.
FINALLY!!!!
I was texting one of my buddies whose an OSU fan before the game and asked him how many "pick 6's" he thought Barrett would throw and then how many INT's he would throw. It was nice to see both come to fuition in the game.
Speaking of meltdowns, of course our game Saturday night made the list of http://www.rollbamaroll.com/2014/9/9/6120013/nsfw-its-meltdown-time-week...
"Really, if I'm a parent watching this shit, I'm telling my kid - "you need to consider other options". This is not a program on the rise. In fact, it's in decline - 1 and 3 in the last 4 games. A great showing by the PATHETIC FUCKING B1G tonight. Unreal."
