I wouldn't say I read too many newspapers, but the few chances I've had to read a Roanoke Times paper, I've not been very impressed. Frequently, I find myself upset that their Sports page is so disorganized and short. This mistake is nearly unforgivable considering a win of this magnitude only happens once in a Hokie lifetime:

Hokiesports may be making us look like a**hats but this makes us look like the uneducated people some people wish us to be.

Relax.
Not sure he can with a name like that. I'm sure it's been longer than 4 hours.
Viagra the gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving and giving and giving... (When do I consult with a doctor)
The paper was pre-printed the day before. Most of the media didnt give VT a chance. Who cares about the Times, TKP is the real source of VT news anyway.
How does a Regional sportspage make VT look bad?
Don't get me wrong.

Just sharing relatively unimportant news on a site where things are more than likely to occasionally be blown out of proportion.
Disclaimer: I really love this site and the good news that comes out of it
They had to rush this to print, seeing as how the game ended at midnight and they had to print off and distribute to the entire region before anyone woke up. In situations like this, editing isn't thorough because it can't be thorough.
Andy got a lot of flak for it, even though he had nothing to do with it:
Also, he had a bit of fun at the Coach's Poll's expense (in reference to ranking anOSU over VT):
Not sure I care about the paper mistake. Let's move on.
ECU!
Take a deep breath in. Hold it for a second. Then let go. As you exhale, let all of the stresses and worries of your day go with it.
Then look at it on saturday at around 10 am. Did you know that they guy who does the layouts for the Roanoke Times is an ECU graduate? I hear he does these things on purpose, and is actually encouraged by the ECU football team. I heard though that if the fans at lane stadium get louder than they've ever yelled before they'll give up on this tactic. You had better get out there and yell at ECU. You better shake your keys on third downs so that they know how displeased you are about this.
Only then will this end.
Agree with krak_t, calm down. The game ended close to midnight, after which was the press conference with Frank and the players. That lasted about 30 minutes and those quotes had to be transcribed by the media covering the event. The beat writers were all in the press box well after midnight, and probably after 1:00 AM. (I can't be sure of that because I left the stadium as soon as Beamer was done talking.) Point being, it was late o'clock by the time the writers were done putting their stories together. Roanoke Times, along with every other paper was up against a time crunch. That's not an excuse, as much as it is a reality. Mistakes do happen, and believe that the Roanoke Times is more embarrassed than you are mad.
They did the best they could after a silly mistake and apologized.

I submitted a paper in college one time that mentioned the "bitch rates" rather than "birth rates." The TA gave me Type of the Year.
Looks like the typo's continue....
