Carlis Parker will return to practice today.— Beamer Ball (@Beamer_Ball) September 9, 2014
After a dynamic showing running the ball against UCLA in the Sun Bowl, Parker had been noticeably absent from the William & Mary gameplan.
During Monday's press conference on Sept. 1, 2014, Frank Beamer briefly addressed Parker's situation, "Yeah, you know he's got some issues, some personal issues at home. We're trying to help him in any way we can, and we'll see where this thing goes. But we're here for him and I think he knows that, and he's just got to get through some things, some personal issues."
At this point those issues are still unknown, but seemingly taken care of.
At any rate, add another offensive weapon to Tech's already deep arsenal.

YES!!!!
I hope that whatever it is, seems like it's probably related to his family based upon Beamer's words, is better now. Hopefully it wasn't anything too serious.
2nd to Hokie_x3_Hi, definitely hope the issues referenced by CFB are resolved and everything's good for Parker from here on out.
Good to hear that he's still with the team.
Welcome back. I hope all is well. Glad to see you're among the teammates.
Awwww Yeeeeeaaaahhhhh!!!
Welcome back, prodigal son!
Not meaning to be a know-it-all but, to quote Inigo Montoya, "I do not think it means what you think it means."
From dictionary.com:
Prodigal
adjective
1.
wastefully or recklessly extravagant
I'm definitely not a know-it-all on this subject but I was loosely basing the reference on the biblical character who left his family/kingdom to do his own thing, and was greeted with fanfare and a fatted lamb when he returned.
Admittedly, it could be a bad reference.
I just got randomly curious about that Bible story a couple weeks ago as I couldn't figure out why the other son was pissed about his brother's reception. I'd always figured prodigal just meant "wandering" or something.
After looking up a definition it made a lot more sense for him to be pissed off that his brother who left home and squandered his entire inheritance is met with a giant party when he brings his broke butt home.
Lol. Well, I think that whatever personal problems our athletes have, if they are ready to return and buckle down to exemplify Hokie Respect, that we should welcome them back with open arms and jet sweeps!
He still gets the fatted calf though, right?
Yes.
Yes he does, because sometimes it's not prodigal. Sometimes it's the right thing.
Welcoming arms. And good to see him back.
As long as this fatted calf is smoked and served at a tailgate, I am ok with all this biblical stuff.
IMHO the whole point of the story is the older brother. The first sentence is, "A man had two sons." The audience was the Pharisees, who would identify with the older brother more than the younger. And it follows a series of stories comparing the one that was lost to the 9 or 99 that were not.
We now return to your regularly scheduled football website.
I've been not so quietly rooting for Parker for 2 yrs now. He's a good kid.
Go, boy.
Glad to get another blade for the rolling ball of butcher knives.
Our jet-sweep alone just got a huge boost with his return. Hope things are looking up for him, and welcome back to your second home, Carlis!
imagine him coming from one side and newsome coming from the other side. Like double jet sweeps.. One can run in front of brewer one behind and brewer picks who to pitch to..
#goodidea or #badidea?
Double reverse, Brewer to Newsome to Carliss, then Sam Rogers picks up and passes Carliss to Bucky on a fade route.
That sounds like #illegalshift.
Yep, that's a -5 yards idea unless both players come set prior to the snap.
I have high hope for Carlis. Glad he is back on the team.
We just had the type of statement win that solves "personal issues". Hope the kid is all good, but you definitely want be on this side of south west Virginia for the foreseeable future. Recruits have taken notice.
Carlis "He Of The Jet Sweeps" Parker is back? Oh goody! This week just keeps getting better and better!
Carlis has elite speed....like this...
Glad to hear that he's back. Anybody know if they are planning on redshirting him like Corey Marshall last year?
Hahaha oh man, he really is making a "Me Gusta" face there.
Rogers, Hodges, Parker, Stroman, Caleb sets por favor #alltheformerhighschoolQBs
speaking of caleb, did he see any time against OSU?
He was on kickoff coverage. I don't think he got any snaps on offense.
Is Carlis still on the team?
No believe he left in the spring.
Thanks, I was curious since I saw him still listed on Hokiesports
