...heh, the media LOVES us now? ..how odd. God forbid we drop a game this season...
Keep Calm and Sam Rogers.
I'm not sure I appreciate how the writer implied that replacing Logan Thomas is what fixed the problem. I feel like it would be more accurate to say replacing the entire offense is what fixed the problem. Look at how many weapons weren't there last year. Look at how many weapons last year were inexperienced. I guess the Logan Thomas may or may not suck saga will never end.
Sometimes the truth hurts.
Is the ONLY reason we are seeing this kind of offensive improvement because we replaced Logan? No, but lets not fool ourselves and say that it isn't making an impact. I love Logan for what he brought to this team, but Brewer is doing things right now we didn't see out of Logan in either of the previous 2 years. Guys aren't dropping passes because Brewer is delivering them the ball on the numbers and with the correct amount of touch to make the catches easy for the receivers. The fact we're seeing a receiving corps that was plagued with dropped passes last year as a whole suddenly become sure handed as a whole is just too much to overlook. Yes, I know the whole "you can never blame the QB for drops" mantra that has been repeated ad nauseum on here, but the results are speaking for themselves right now.
I feel pretty confident that the reason the receiving corps looks better this year is because they ARE better. Isaiah Ford, Cam Phillips, Bucky Hodges, Ryan Malleck... All of these guys are getting reps that belonged to others last year. That's not a coincidence, those four deserve to be on the field more.
The offense last year was an absolute mess for a variety of reasons. If you switched Logan and Brewer's places, we'd be talking about how Logan is the reason the receivers are so much better this year and how Brewer didn't have a big enough arm to keep defenses honest in 2013.
Plus guys like Byrn, Stanford, Rogers, and Klein were either contributing for the first time or were green as green could be last year. Only Knowles and an injured DJ Coles had any previous experience of note -- and even that wasn't extensive.
Thomas literally had nothing to work with until late in the season - and even then it wasn't much...he never had a downfield threat to work with (which was a criminal shame considering how it could have been utilized as just a threat with his arm) rendering him to the short passing game (which was not his strength and which the opposing D's knew was coming).
Right there.
Thomas' strength was not short passing game but we were not able to take advantage of that strength in the long passing game.
Let me note here that one of the passes that was dropped by the OSU receiver Saturday was because he tried to catch it with his chest.
Does that sound familiar? Not Barrets fault but, still counts as an incomplete.
False...Logan was the offense last season....case in point how did the sun bowl turn out for us?
I was so excited to see the wild turkey make a come back.
this made me both giddy and anxious...I want him to destroy ACC defenses and turn his offense into one of the best in the land...but I don't wanna lose the guy either..ESPECIALLY if he becomes super successful.
You know what?
I'll just be giddy if we have to worry about that at the end of this season.
It's nice to see Tech (and Loeffler) getting national recognition, but this move towards a spread-multiple offense has been Loeffler's intentions for a while.

The reason it's looked effective recently is because of the return of Malleck and the emergence of Bucky.
Every time someone says Bucky...

Good article...I am a little worried that if the offense is successful that Lefty will be gone to be on to somewhere else...I just want an offense like we had against OSU that was always three and out and can finish drives...If we can do that the defense will win us games
