what are the reasons you want to re-watch the VT vs Ohio State game?

ESPNU is rebroadcasting VIRGINIA TECH VS OHIO STATE tonight at 8: 00 PM. Here are five reasons I will be relieving the moment again tonight:
Its good to finally beat a top 10 team in a long time.
The defense is fun to watch
How can the Hokies learn from and correct the mistakes that were made.
Watching a packed Horseshoe stadium getting silenced
Watching the young Hokies dominate Osu.

What are the reasons why you want to re-watch the VT VS Ohio State game?

Because it was AWESOME!??

Watching the Hokies use OSU homefield to make a huge impression on Josh sweat.

Because the Hokies won.

I have a question, and maybe it is stupid, but I don't know. After watching the Alabama VS. Auburn game last year and seeing Auburn return Alabama's missed field goal for a touchdown, I was wondering why they blew the whistle after OSU's 2nd missed field goal hit the goal post and one of our guys began to run it back? Is it the fact that the football actually hit the post first in this case therefore making the ball dead?

The goal posts is technically out-of-bounds; therefore if you hit it, the ball becomes dead. During the Auburn-Alabama game, the 59-yardish kick was short of the end line in the end zone, allowing for Chris Davis to return the kick.

As others have said, though, still a good decision by Bonner to play to the whistle. I have seen NFL players high-five each other after blocking a field goal attempt, with a live ball lying there on the field. There are few things more embarrassing than that.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I re-watched it last night on WatchESPN.

I watched it because I was at the game and I wanted to see the broadcast for the first time, re-live the experience of course, catch the moxie of Brewer again, watch Bud Foster's genius again, see Dadi drop bull rush guards into QBs, and ... to re-affirm my thoughts that tOSU is a damn good team.

I felt that afterwards that the national media and fans of rivals schools discounted tOSU but watching again it re-affirmed my thoughts that VT played great to beat a really good team. I could see Ohio State going 10-2 with their schedule and I think JT Barrett will show up great in a lot of games this year.

My buddy from Bama just messaged me and said "Y'all whooped up on the Buckeyes". I'd say the real football fans who watched that game understood they were watching a damn good Hokie team.

Rip his freaking head off!

a. it was the best damn game i've ever seen from tech.
b. i was too hype watching it from the 'shoe
c. my buddy told me the camera was on me at one point (it wasn't :[ )

Every second counts

My original answer was: because we won.

Now, it seems like the only reason you'd watch that is if you REALLY wanted more information on lawn products... seriously, ESPNU, get it together. This is the highlight tape with infomercials mixed in after just about every play.

So true! My roommate and I stopped watching after Marshawn's TD run because it was literally one play and then commercials. There was one sequence when they showed one play, commercial, one play, commercial, three plays commercial. Unreal

#38-0

The play I could watch over and over again is the Dadi Nicolas sack with about 3 minutes left. That RG on OSU (don't know his name) got absolutely destroyed from the snap of the ball. First he got knocked backward 3 yards and then he lost his jock strap. Friggin awesome.

Rip his freaking head off!

I was at work for the first half and despite having it on my ipad, people would get upset if I told them I would start their filet at the next commercial, so I had to look away quite frequently.

I also like to try to rewatch and do a half-French-like analysis. Try.

I dvrd it and have watched it 3 times already.
The first time live, I missed some stuff due to cheering.
I have watched it since with a mind to catch details such as Sly's tackle and various blocking and the line slanting and moving pockets, etc.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

just watched it on espn and I missed a bunch cheering and screaming during the game. I'm pumped just watching the replay. what a game

tyrod did it mikey! tyrod did it!

1. Seeing the offense look competent for the first time in a long time.....still some kinks to work out, but that 3rd and 17 from our end zone was a thing of beauty.
2. Seeing the D play the way they played. Some of those hits reminded me of the Clemson game from '07.

Mmmmmmm......pie.

I was just thinking earlier today how this defense kinda reminded me of that '07 team. So I watched the highlights from that Clemson game on YouTube again. My God, I had forgotten how many nasty hits they had in that game!

To see dbu do work!

Jack Bauer fears no one. Except Xavier Adibi.

To watch Kysheon perfect his impersonation of a heat-seeking missile.

"Tajh Boyd over the middle . . . and it's caught for an interception! Michael Cole, lying flat on his back, ARE YOU KIDDING???"

If you're short on time, I highly recommend just re-watching the 4th Quarter - There is an entire games worth of drama in there.

It would have been interesting to see my blood pressure for that period of time.

I'm watching ECU v South Carolina.

I've already watched the OSU game like 4 times.

Leonard. Duh.

We look like a football TEAM

Offensively, defensively, special teams. One of the most solid all around performances from Virginia Tech I've seen in nearly a decade. I want to rewatch because I'm so happy to see it all finally come together. We look to finally have an offense to go with our defense.

I have to watch to remind myself it wasn't a dream. We really went into the Horseshoe and knocked off #8 Ohio State. Its been 4 days, I still can't believe it happened.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

as a Hokie fanatic since only 2007, it was fun watching our defense be dominant. it's like watching the old youtube vids where i think "dang, i wish i were a fan back then, watching this game live must've been amazing"

so me watching the replay of this game is very satisfying. reliving the feeling of even i was watching it that night and saying to myself "finally"

Jarrett playing center-field,

DiNardo & Clarke blitzing

Clarke & Fuller blitzing

oh and Brewer shifting around and finding Byrne, Malleck, Ford, Hodges, Stanford, and most of all ROGERS

Being able to enjoy the game without the tense feeling inside, wondering if we'd actually be able to put it off.

*shakes fist at sky* ECU!!!

To see myself on ESPN

I have re watched it about 2 or 3 times on the DVR since Saturday. I have to say the reasons for me is the way OSU kept trying to test the best secondary in the country with the best CB in the country and kept getting shut down over and over again. Brewers composure and toughness are another reason, and I absolutely love re watching our 4th quarter go-ahead drive. Reading everyone's post just makes me want to watch it again.

I've watched it 3 times since Saturday, 2 on the DVR and 1 on WatchESPN. On WatchESPN, there's a special "Skycam only" feed for the VT/OSU game, which is basically stadium sounds and just the skycam video feed. No commentary, no replays, no cutaways (except for commercial breaks). Just raw football footage and sound. After each touchdown, the skycam hovers over the player as they join the bench and it's pretty neat to watch the camaraderie between all the players. You're even able to watch snippets of OSU's marching band halftime performance. It's a different way to watch the game. Kinda wish that commercials didn't exist on the online feed, but this is ESPN after all.

Watching the game on Skycam was absolutely fantastic. For me, the only thing missing was the commentary. Otherwise it was great.

I didn't watch the replay, but did we win?

to be honest i rewatch all the games well because 12 hokie games a year just is not enough for me. period.

After the game, did anyone have the sudden urge to go to the nearest goal post and tear it down?

To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I've re-watched full game twice as well watched the accelerated highlights multiple times. Mind you, I rarely re-watch highlights unless its a good game (Miami Thursday when Enter Sandman came on for Ja"picky" Harris comes to mind. One of my favortie YouTube videos ever.) "THESE PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR MINDS"

But back to the Ohio State game....

A. It was one our the best victories of all time
B. I love being called the underdog, and prevailing is that much sweeter
C. Wanted to see how our o-line would handle the best D-line in the country
D. I wanted to focus on how the young guys played on a huge stage (quite well if you ask me)
E. Also I may have had a shot or 12 of Wild Turkey, so the small things get slightly lost in translation.

We have a mature leadership on this team and we won't take ECU lightly. I heard many Hokies talk about the 24 hour rule...and they seem focused on the task at hand. I'm sure once our bye weeks come up, I'll be re-watching this game a few more times.

Go Hokies!!

Dude i watched it the next day on WatchESPN.
The NE Florida VT alumni watched it at a place that had the volume on the dumb Auburn game so i wanted to get the full enjoyment out it!

I was able to watch it without being a nervous wreck this time!!!!

TN_Hokie

I've rewatched the game 3 times.

Part of the reason is the sentiment from Mark Trible's story: http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2014/september/10/win-over-buckeyes-re...

Watching Bud's boys do their thing vs Urban's highly touted offense.
Watching the O grow up before our eyes, especially the response drive and TD after OSU ties it up.

Lastly, there is the pure enjoyment of hearing Nessler and Blackledge slobber all over OSU, knowing that all of the "promise" from a few good plays in the 1st quarter end in a ball of flames as Donovan runs his pick 6 to the house.

I've really enjoyed having you and the other OSU fans on here. It's nice to be able to talk football with people from a different perspective. I hope you all stick around. I wanted to make a profile over on 11W but last week was a shitshow at work and I just didn't have the time.

Because I was half lit in real time and wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I loved the way our ST played (other than the missed FG). It seems like for so long we have been on the losing end of special team plays in big games. Whether it be giving up long returns, roughing the kicker, botching a fake punt, etc., we usually ended up getting screwed. It was great to see such a complete ST performance.
