On a More Positive Note!

Our women's volleyball took down #12 Illinois. The story can be found here.

Additionally, our #3 ranked women's soccer team will be playing ECU. Who knew revenge could come so quickly?!

Isn't this the same thing we blast LOLUVa fans for every year?

We use our other teams as a silver lining.

They use their other teams as obfuscation.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

obfuwhat? easy with that fancy talk!

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

obfuscate
[ob-fuh-skeyt, ob-fuhs-keyt]

verb (used with object), obfuscated, obfuscating.
1.
to confuse, bewilder, or stupefy.
2.
to make obscure or unclear:
to obfuscate a problem with extraneous information. <---- YOU'RE AT LOLUVA, YOU CAN DO THAT
3.
to darken.

I'm just happy when Tech sports do well. It shows that we have success in more than just football. If that's how UVA sees it, then so be it.

Go Hokies!

On a bright side for me, Oklahoma is beating Tennessee (Not sure how much longer though, momentum is starting to swing their way) and I won't get hassled by their obnoxious fans as much if they lose.

Also, Kentucky looks good against Florida and I'm happy for them! Yay! Just a night of Stoops!

Boston College is tearing up USCw on the ground. At least they were last time I looked when it was 27-17 BC

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Are you all watching this Kentucky game?! This is great! It's in overtime. Kentucky looks awesome!

BC destroying USC. Hokies might need to start worrying about 3-4 more losses this season if that O line plays like it did today.

I hope by Hokies you mean the fans and not the players...

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Both. Fans and players entered today feeling pretty good about themselves.

But my point being, this Hokies team could win or lose every division game we have left based on what I saw today, let alone also the BC game.

I'm talking about the players not having a mindset thinking that they will lose 3-4 more games because that would be bad to say the least if they did.

Oh my goodness I just checked the box score of the BC game, they outrushed USCw 452-20. 452 yards. On the ground.

The yardage was just about as lopsided to USCw in the air, but 317 passing yards for USCw is actually a fairly regular number.

Sheesh it looks like BC just Stanford'ed USCw. I bet they thought they were past that last week.

Looks like BC is now running an option attack with Tyler Murphy as QB. Wasn't he a transfer from Florida? Maybe BC is trying to become GT...

"Exit light..."

Really?! I hadn't seen them play yet this year, I should need to check them out.

But they play Maine and Colorado State next two games, so maybe I'll wait until Oct 11 vs NCSt

It was a surprise to me, too. That's what the highlights on ESPN were showing - not sure if it's their total game plan, but apparently they're executing the option well. Given the 452 yards on the ground, I'd say it's paying off for them, whatever they're doing.

EDIT: after watching some of the game on replay last night, I should revise this to say that what BC is doing is probably not an option system like GT or Navy, more of a zone read with some option plays. Think the illegitimate child of GT and Auburn.

After posting that comment, I tuned in for a chunk of the BC/USCw replay last night as well. Their option offense resembles what we did with Logan last year. Looked like Tyler Murphy runs that offense pretty well.

I'm impressed with BC so far. Moving towards an offense like that usually takes time, but they're seeing success with it pretty quickly. Addazio is going to keep turning that program around. It won't be long until they're a force to be reckoned with.

Seeing Murphy run all over USC is making me nervous for when we play them...

Kentucky deserved to win that game. Great, now I'm just as pissed as I was earlier today. I think I just need to step away from my computer for a while. This has been a shitty day if I've ever seen one.

On another positive note, with the prospect of yet again losing Malleck the Mallet, will Kline be ready pretty soon??

True Hokies STICK IT IN!!!

STICK IT IN Army of Virginia Tech

The Irish coffee was good. Perfect day for it.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I wanted one so badly after ready that post, I had all the coffee and none of it Irish on my 4 hr drive to visit my finace's grandparents. Worst part was getting freakout texts from everyone about starting out down 21-0.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Women's soccer extended their winning streak to 9 by beating ECU 3-0!

Go Hokies!
