So what? We lost. We had the worst first quarter imaginable, and we still had a chance to win in the fourth. At the beginning of this season we didn't expect to win a national championship, and now I don't expect to win a national championship. I am still ecstatic about where this team is headed. We never gave up, and we stepped up in a big way, made the proper adjustments, and got ourselves back in the game. Once again, true freshmen stepped up to make big plays. I couldn't be happier about the talent our coaches brought in last year.
Am I super drunk? yes. But lets not let one loss befoul the season. We're still looking good. Proud of our team for not folding when they could have after the first quarter.

Being a fan of Virginia Tech football is like having a hot wife who constantly cheats on you...you would divorce her but you didn't sign a prenup so you have way too much invested in the marriage.
Fuck my life.
This /\ should be on the meltdown page this week.
In the first half, VT was more like an ugly wife . Then she got better looking after some surgeries. you don't want to divorce her for whats inside of her and capable of doing at the end of the season.
...but you still get to do her every now and then; so there's that, too
Agreed we all knew there would be growing pains with this team with all the freshman. Well here are the growing pains....deep breath and move on the play calling improved later in the game and we clearly took this game for granted coming into it....onto ACC play #beatgt
Hugs all around, boys and girls. We'll be back next week.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to go finish the Ken Burns documentary I started at halftime. No more football for me today. I'm pissed at it.
This made me laugh. Feel the same way. Football is going in "time out" for this week and I'm not going to read anything else about it. Go Hokies!
ECU deserves a lot of credit. Those guys came to play. Tip of my hat to them.
Exactly. Still love (and have faith in) my Hokies.
Thank you for the positivity. Next week. Go Hokies!
I've never doubted my fanship.
... but i hate ECU
Yea they have some of the worst fans. They all started to boo Bonner when he went down right in front of their section.
Also shout out to my heart for not quitting on me today.
this is a pretty happy TKP drunk dial considering we just lost
Thanks for this. Even though they went up with a big TD with under :20 to go, this team never stopped fighting. The offense moved the ball into scoring position. Brewer has to put the ball in play on the last play of the game though. I'm proud of the way we fought back though.
Just a bad game, that's all. We came out flat, real flat on both sides of the ball. We turned it up in the 2nd half and came back so I'm proud of the team for that. Lets regroup and destroy next week's opponent.
Wait a minute, you mean it's not the end of the world? I'm so confused now
I know you're right. But today, I hate the game of football.
I had to get off facebook and twitter, talk about harsh. These are young kids, and they are giving us a lot to look forward too. Today didn't go our way, but the season is far from over. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, get back to work and improve. I'm still excited about where this team can go. Handling the losses are just as important, if not more, than handling the wins. Love them hokies, win or lose. GO HOKIES!
This team never gave up, even with 16 seconds left and the entire field to drive, they never stopped believing until that clock read 00:00. That is a team that I can get behind and root for no matter what. Go Hokies!
Preach brother!
I predicted 8-4 and a shot at the coastal, still seems pretty realistic and just imagine what Ford or Durkin will do in a year or two with the experienced blossoming freshmen?
I think they will be fine. Started off slow by going down 21-0 and pretty much dominated on defense for the rest of the game. Slow start of offense is what killed us. Some questionable calls too but thats going to happen. Going to make the trip down next week for the GT game, I am still pretty confident they will turn this around.
Not many people believed we were going undefeated right this year. What would be the difference if we lost to osu and beat ecu? Still have a lot of talent and the entire coastal lineup to go through. Can still end the season with only one loss. I'm sure next year v ecu will get destroyed by us. And on the bright side at least we weren't ranked 8 in the country and lose to an unranked, although a good unranked. I love this team and I love this school. GO HOKIES!!
When I woke up this morning, if you would have told me 1) we would lose to ECU, then 2) I would get amazing collard greens from a food truck and then 3) I would read a drunk guy using the work "befoul" in proper context, I would be speechless. So, I have nothing to say.
I am not exactly sure what this post is saying, but I am in full agreement! Go collard greens and Go Hokies!!!
Everyone's been saying we're a year away and I still agree with that statement! Guys fought hard could of been 35-0 in the first 20 mins of the game! Just frustrating to lose at home so often over the years
I love VT football too. But at some point we can't come up with a litany of reasons why we drop games like this each year.
If this team shows up again this season, games @Pitt and @UNC could get ugly.
Can't hate every loss dude. Got to admit that our freshman and sophomore have been crazy this year. Fuck. I love vt football enough to punch walls and break knuckles (which i can say from experience) but you can't forget that this team has been fantastic so far.
...I might be drunker than I was when I made this post.
They'll learn a lot from this game. I don't buy into the overlooking philosophy. We got beat by a very good team (that barely lost to USCe which beat UGA last night) with a great offense (we could use a pair of Juco 0-linemen in this class, too). I was really upset until I saw them respond and score 21 to tie it up late in the game. That shows me so much about this team. The skill is there. The heart is there. There's just so much youth. We just need to keep adding onto it. We could also use help on the oline.
If they had to drop one early to learn some lessons, do it now to a very good team that might bring in 10 wins this year and stay unscathed in conference play.
The only thing that has me worried is Faycson. I wonder if his injury is tying up his brain. He was so good last yera.
GO HOKIES!
