After seeing JT Barrett and OSU's WRs not play to what people thought they could I do think Shane Carden and the group of recievers that he has are the best that we will see all season. Their WR's made a ton of plays, though I do think our DB's could have battled for the ball on some of those passes and gotten interceptions had they turned to play the ball. Carden was putting his passes on the money. He was accurate all day for the most part. I still believe we should have won that came had we not came out so slow in the 1st QTR and allowed them to jump to such a big lead.
Having said all that I don't think we will face such a pass attack as that the rest of the season (save for maybe FSU if we get to and face them in the ACCCG). We always focus on stopping the run first and ECU really didn't need their run game. GT is all run and they've escaped falling to far inferior opponents at least twice this year (tulane and GA southern). I haven't watched any of their games but from that their D seems pretty weak. However every saturday is a new game. Who would have thought ECU's defense would have had so much success against us? UNC is looking pretty suspect as well so far this year. BC looked good on saturday but they didn't play that well against Pitt, and honestly we looked pretty dang good last week as well. BC was also all run though. Stop their run and how does their passing game fair?? They had 425 some odd yards on the ground. Pitt appears to be a difficult team at the moment. We'll see how they fare the rest of the season. Don't know about Miami but they looked horrible against Louisville who just lost to LOLUVA. Duke put 41 on Kansas, but that's Kansas. I think we'll see how these teams do once they get into ACC play.
We are definately capable of winning the rest of the games up until the ACCCG. We are capable of winning that game as well. I'm past this loss. The team played very tough in being able to come back from an early 21-0 defecit. I'm ready to start reading prep for GT. Usually a close game but hopefully we can win a little bit more convincingly this year. GO HOKIES!!!

For this season? I'm not going to make that conclusion until after our bowl game. As for ever? I would say Luck and Co IMOP.
This year. For this team. Haven't watched all our other opponents but I don't believe anyone left on the schedule can match ECU's talent in terms of passing and catching.
so far. yes.
Carden had a great game and his receivers stepped up for the most part.
He's experienced and ran the offense well.
I'm a bit worried about Tyler Murphy after watching him play against USC last night, and Duke seems to have their offense together.
I don't know if ECU is the best, but if not then we could be in trouble.
It was frustrating that we couldn't pressure him, but dude got the ball off so fast, we were a step late.
Adjustments were made, but we were down too far at that point.
I'm almost relieved that we have GT next so we can stop their run while Foster figures out how to tweak the D again.
Well, he did say QB/WR combo. I don't have much faith in Murphy as a passer.
Agree. BC's damage was on the ground. If we can force Murphy to beat us passing I think we have the definite advantage.
Well if they're running an option offense, then I think we should be able to show them a stout defense.
