BOOM! haha.
Seriously, when you rush the field for any win over a ranked team it is basically admitting your team is terrible. Act like you though you were supposed to win. Save the field rush for a win over a Top5 team when you are not ranked or two score 'dogs.
We did rush the field vs. Nebraska in 2009 but, in our defense, it was more from what led to the victory (for anyone who doesn't remember: 81 yard pass that led to TD with 21 seconds left) rather than the victory itself.
I was there and in the NEZ and did not rush the field. I graduated in 2008 and thought we should have beaten Nebraska. I lost in when TT found Danny and left town with some form of a cold/bronchitis. Only time I rushed the field at Lane was my freshman year 2004 against WVU who was 6th at the time.
I don't remember anyone rushing the field vs. Nebraska. The only time I've experienced it in person was when we beat FSU in 2007, and that was more for historical significance than current rankings or anything.
I remember beating FSU and Chris Ellis' INT return for a TD from the 2yd line, but not rushing the field. I think that may have also been a later game and a hell of a tailgate at the fraternity house. Think it might have been homecoming? Maybe
FSU '07 definitely had a rush. I'm pretty sure it's the only one I've been part of.
I was there for the Miami game in '03 and the BC game in '99 and then a couple of UVa games where we did it. I was also at the '83 UVa game at Cville where we beat them down 48-0, rushed THEIR field and tore down THEIR goalposts. We tried to ram one into the locker room, and the other made its' way back to Blacksburg. Those were all justifiable. Especially the one in '83.
Im incalculably jealous of this experience.
In fact, I'm so jealous that I had to go to thesaurus.com to look up a more powerful way to say "incredibly"
I remember rushing the field once in the mid 90's. I can't really recall which game it was, but I remember talking to Shawn Scales on the field...it had to have been in 96. Probably the UVA game.
I remember rushing the field after Nebraska, and even seeing ESPN show it later on. Didn't rush after Miami, however, I needed to dry off as soon as the clock hit 0:00!
That was Solid Gold from Reece.
But I'm going to go ahead and say the rush the field was well deserved.
Congrats to the Hoos on a great win.
I honestly want them to be on the cusp of bowl-eligibility when we beat them.
We all remember what happened last time they were on the brink of the ACCCG
I believe the phrase is "37-0, Bro".
whoa, hey. 38-0, bro.
Wait.. I typed that? Dammit.
I hate it when I lose focus on TKP because of work.
He should have added "And by rush back to their tailgate, I mean leave at halftime"
I'm glad to see someone is still realistic:
Every year, they do get that inexplicable win. Miami could be in luck.
"we could still end up being that team that goes 2-10."
I am now rescinding all of my criticism of UVA's "superior academics" argument.
Sound like Henry Coley has the right attitude.
Or he is just basing it on personal experience/recent history.
So, has anyone asked Coley if that was a statement of team goals?
Coley is right. The odds skew far closer to that result than the other end of the spectrum. The same is true of BC, regardless of beating USC.
Still, any time USCw loses, it is cause for significant celebration.
Yeah, I never did like USC. Much like Alabammer, they were always media favorites even back in the 60's/70's. I don't mind them losing any time.
I've never been able to generate a dislike for USCw. Can't put my finger on it.

Or anything else, for that matter.
I challenge your tag line! Where is the gif?
HA! I was sorely tempted, believe me. Still feeling my way around and trying to stay in bounds, and remain on my best behavior.
Technically, a GIF is only worth a million if I only watch it a thousand times. In reality, it's worth thousand, plus a thousand, plus a thousand...
Or if it has a thousand frames.
This is the only reason that I applied to USCw when I graduated HS.
Where's Jameis Winston when you need him.....
(too soon??)
Hasn't been a scene like that in Charlottesville since Black Friday at Brooks Bros.
And Hoo can forget the riot that occurred in front of the C-ville ABC stores when Zima was discontinued and put on clearance.
And finally, with great risk of appearing to pile on a LOLUVA thread, I went ahead and googled the phrase:

"act like you've been there before"
And lo and behold this endzone celebration is the third entry (and first real pic):
This almost defines that old joke "I looked up 'x' in the dictionary and your face was there"
They're not celebrating the win, after the game someone yelled "Free Zima at the fifty yard line!"
nicely done! leg for you sir.
The ironic thing is - if UVa ends up about 5-7 or 6-6 and goes to a 3rd tier bowl game with this win over UofL and the close loss to UCLA, Mike London will stay.
And we all know what that means for us.
An FAA HQ Big Wig with all his smugness tried to score some points in all hands meeting by referencing UVA's big win against Louisville! What he failed to realize was that nobody in NJ cares about UVA, and most are not interested in college football. Of course he got no reaction from audience, except for me in back-row letting out a slightly audible 'UGGGGGGGG'! So my friends in front of me could laugh. I had to bite my tongue to keep from yelling "Lets Go Hokies!" He went on to add that he wouldn't bore us with that anymore, but at end of speech he couldn't help but to inform everyone of the score, again no response.
LOLUVA! Please have just a good enough year to keep Time Cop in C-Ville.
My buddy and I rushed LOLUVA field after the comeback victory in '95. Smoked a cigar in their endzone. It was a beautiful day!
The first time I rushed the field was BC '99, then didn't do it again until I was a student in '07 when we beat FSU. I was in the NEZ with friends and was kind of eh about it until my then gf (now wife) really pushed to do it.
Additionally, right before Matt Ryan threw the winning TD pass in '07 said gf, now wife, exclaims "where do we rush the field at?!" KISS. OF. DEATH.
And you still married her? She must be downright perfect otherwise.
She drinks IPAs.
