I will be there and tailgating in Prices Fork most likely. It would be awesome to meet other TKPer's who tailgate there on the regular basis. Plus, the more drinking buddies, the better.

It's that time of year again. Techmo Bowl. That special time when Fullers dominate, Hokies crush and Foster kick's a little Paul Johnson ass. It will be a tough game. They will try to rush for hundreds of yards, "legally" block our knees, and "scheme" their way to a win. Why? Because at GT "you can do that". I can't wait until we show them again exactly why they can't.

I have not been in Blacksburg since my graduation in 2007, and I'm absolutely stoked to see the campus and crush Georgia Tech! After last week's tough start I think we come out swinging, and it's going to be one fantastic environment that's for damn sure. I can taste the smoked Turkey legs already!

Very concerned for this game. Maddy is banged up. Marshall might also still be hurt. If they can't anchor the line I could see GT killing us slowly with dives for 4-5 yards a carry all day. Our corners now have to take away the edge, and that makes me worried about Faycson's ability to cut and take the right angle. I think the double eagle is well suited to stop the flexbone, but I'm worried about injuries taking their toll in this game of assignment football.
The key, as always, is to make them play from behind. We need to get up early. Two sustained scoring drives early would be amazeballs, but I'll take two quick scores in a pinch. Getting up by double digits would be huge, and GT has the defense to allow that.
Having said all that, to hell with Paul Johnson. Let's bitchslap their one trick pony team one more time.

I love you for that, watching that video just made me finally get out of the funk from this last game. I really want to watch our lunchpail D hit GT in the mouth this Saturday!!

Sweat for starters. Also, 2016 ESPNJr300 TE recruit Devante Brooks, #103 player in the nation. I know there are lots of others, but someone else can provide the assist.

Oscar Smith defensive end Josh Sweat, the No. 1 recruit in the nation by 247 Sports
Jacksonville cornerback Kevin Toliver II, a five-star LSU commit who was Ford's high school teammate
Three-star Linebacker Victor Alexander, another of Ford's Trinity Christian Academy teammates
And three-star running back Bryce Love, an all-purpose player from Wake Forest, North Carolina
Looks like I. Ford keeps getting better and better as a recruit. 2 different players from his HS in town!

I'm wondering if Chuck Clark can be that guy for this game. He's got some size to him. Heck, even Dinardo or RVD, too but am not sure what our D personnel will look like for this game.

I think the only way you can replace a Fuller is with another Fuller.
If not him though, I wonder if they do something crazy with Clarke to get him in that role. If RVD is healthy and can tackle this would be a good time for him to see the field.

What you have to do...
Is drive the guy crashing the line into the ground with one of the guards. Lay him out a few times, and he wont be so eager to be running through the line. It really boils down to whether our OL can block their DL one on one. If so, we should see success. If not, were screwed. And for the love of God, get off the ground and block somebody!

Interesting
So if Im hearing you right, its less about their DL and more about that crasher theyre bringing every play. We make his job suck enough, hell lose a step and we can get back to our regularly scheduled offense.
Im just curious to see if any of our personnel changes (lots of new faces along the OL) match up with what could help with that. Like, would taller Guards help? Or would we just need to have the inside of our OL play more of a stand up and block straight ahead kind of game for a while to prevent Fuller (the younger) leaping over the line and into our mesh point? Im so interested but I dont know enough about what CPJ tries to do to counter Fosters scheme.

That's actually what CPJ said is the cure.
He did that during the game last year once too. I think it was Mason that nailed Fuller, but I could be mistaken. Fuller wasnt so eager to crash the line for a few plays. He gained his confidence back though, and we couldnt get our hands on him.
I don't remember Kyle being tentative at all. I just remember him shutting them down.

someone please post the Gif of the Hokie Bird point blank blasting the Yellow Jacket. It's from like two years ago, but it's till epic...
I freaking HATE Georgia Tech. There hasn't been nearly enough GT trash talk this week.

That is my all-time favorite VT football video. If only Billdozer included sound clips from the play-by-play announcers in it, it would've been perfect.

Even though it is an action movie, that movie is without a doubt the goriest movie I have ever seen (and my wife watches a lot of really gory horror movies). The fake blood budget must have surpassed even a UVA fraternaties chardonnay and boat shoe fund.

#Hokies DC Bud Foster says he expects DT Corey Marshall (ankle) to play Saturday vs GT.— Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) September 17, 2014
Potentially problematic, but my guess is our D is going to be the fastest that Thomas sees all year:

Come back strong after a home defeat to ECU? WE ARE VIRGINIA TECH. WE CAN DO THAT.
I remember when you did this for the Miami game last year. Hoping for a result similar to how that one turned out!
I will be there and tailgating in Prices Fork most likely. It would be awesome to meet other TKPer's who tailgate there on the regular basis. Plus, the more drinking buddies, the better.
I will be AT LANE for this one! So stoked! Prepared to see Bud Foster shut down CPJ's antiquated offense.

Better be careful, I think that GT is trying to work a trick play into their arsenal. It's called The Forward Pass.
I always cringe for this game, just praying no one gets hurt. I hope they get big ideas and throw all day, instead of the usual slice and dice.
bold prediction #1
Fayscon goes off this game, and has a career game

I agree, nothing like a billdozer video to wash off the funk from the ECU game
PolyTeching >>> Single Teching, 'nuff said
ROBUST!
Saw this from the TTL notes over on TSL:
I wish I could be down there, but we need everyone to show up and rock Lane!
Unbelievable doesn't even begin to describe it. This will be the biggest recruiting weekend of the season.

Kevin Toliver II, Trevon Hill and more.

My biggest concern for this game is finding someone to replace Kyle Fuller in the "hop across the line to disrupt the option" position.

With the way he's been playing, I'm betting on DiNardo or Chase Williams
GT seems to agree. From the Rumble Seat:
I don't remember Kyle being tentative at all. I just remember him shutting them down.
He wasn't so eager to crash the line because HE WAS RESTING ON THE SIDELINE WITH THE REST OF THE DEFENSE!
Wonder what delusions of grandeur ole' Sting talk is up to these days..
