I have the feeling if it is not that T they will find another one. Bolt it down and bend the bolt stems, really damn hard to remove them afterwards. Also a screwed and glued job is difficult to separate.

Yeah, I seem to remember reading that they do this for every game and always return whatever they take. It doesn't bother me, it's things like this that make college sports what they are. No harm, no foul.

Set a watch. That's all you can do.
We'd need someone to ID all the possible T's they could take and set watch responsibilities.
When I was in school normally it would be frats that would assign a representative to work with other orgs and frats to ID what needed to be watched and coordinate with campus security to let them know somebody would be at spots all night before football and bball games so campus security didn't get alarmed at guys hanging out all night. They would overlook beverages as long as it wasn't rubbed in their face (actually put coke in the rum and coke and use a coke bottle, etc).
Of course we have guys at VT that are actually trained on how to stand a watch.

As said above, if it is so offensive, you'd think there would be student groups (frats or VTCC) that would stand watch for a couple of nights prior to the game. That solves the problem. No gimmicky installation methods are necessary, just common sense prevention - stand watch to stop it.

If GT stealing our T gives us the W - then hand wrap it for them every year. Honestly though, I'd show every player in the locker room the picture, and then ask if them they're going to let GT get away with it.

Great prank...let it roll. Deal is they will give it back in good fun. Next year down there steal the Ramblin' Wreck drink a lot and crash it into a Jersey wall! Don't they have a goat or something? Barbecue it!

Since it's something they do repeatedly and no one at the schools seems to be able to set a watch on the more prominent of these, in 2 years, TKP will need to organise a watch and prevent the theft.

Too bad they aren't going to steal the "W" this weekend

Maybe they stole the T for Mike London...he could always use an extra T.
^^^Yep, this is the joke, right Here.
We painted a T on UVA's field before a game. They're all giddy that they stole a T off a sign outside of the stadium. #reasonswe'rethebettertech
Who cares? It's a prank they are known for and one that was reconciled.

Agreed...I'll take the W over that T every season

The simplest solution would be to change the name of the school to something with no 'T's in it and change every sign on campus accordingly.
Virginia Polyechnic Insiue and Universiy
It has a nice ring to it
I thought that's how West Virginia always pronounced the school's full name?
Virginia Science College
Bridges and Cows School
I would upvote this but i dont have enough turkey legs just yet!
DBU?
LOL!
At least it's better than this one time, in Atlanta...

However that was a pretty sweet win
Say what you want about Glennon, but he light it up in a good way that night.
And that Macho pick. Sweeeet!
I warned y'all. They got it again
Actually, it looks like Dr. Lou would be speechless here.
Does anyone else picture Luther from "Coach" every time Uncle Lou opens his mouth?
pics?
its not a funny joke. its desecration of university property. when will GT learn to behave and stop damaging school's property?
It's a pretty harmless prank, imo. I think I've read that they always return it, too.
If we did it to them, how many on here would crow about the ingenuity of it?

harmless prank. big deal.
Take a "T"...we'll make more.
Make a fake one for the next time they visit...and make sure the legit one is up on game day.
Or just electrify the real T. We'll see how good of engineers they are.

Embarassing.
