Im going to say we go 14-0 by 2nd quarter. We have to come out looking for blood and put on a good show!! I have a slight feeling Mr. Stroman will be returning kickoffs very shortly as he looks great in the PR.
I'm envisioning a Jarrett block down the sideline and Stroman following right behind!!!!!!!!!!

This may be the game that both teams really struggle defensively. I could see VT winning like 44-38 or something.
GT also gets blown out some. If you're not getting blocked on defense, they can't do anything and it snowballs on them. I could see us jumping out to a 24-7 lead at halftime and winning 41-17 or something.

VT gets a late start again but pulls it out 27-20. I also think we get a special teams score. Whether a block or return I will be excited to see some Beamerball.

Ugghh...I don't know on this one. We've seen VT play good and we've seen VT play bad...and then fix it. I mean it all depends on how the front 4 play IMO. If they can be effective they we should be good as long as the guys are tackling like they did for the OSU game. We are the best defense that they have faced even with backups in on the dline. We have faced better defenses than them and have been able to put up at least 21 points in all games so far. I think if Brewer has time in the pocket then we should be ok. That will open up the run game and we are due for a big rushing day. I don't think they have any animals like OSU's dline or williams from last week. Once again we are, for now at least, back to a jekel and hyde team. Great some days, poor the other. But we've beat them with worse offenses against their better defenses. Their QB is not shane carden and doesn't have the experience throwing, or scheme, to beat us deep time and time again a-la ECU. He seems to be one of the smaller GT QB's that we have faced as well, so how much of a beating can he take from the Hokie defense. Fast or not he's going to get hit some especially with KJ flying around. How long till it takes a toll on him and slows him down or makes him second guess??
All that being said....I'll go 28-13 Hokies.

And to add...if we play poorly against this GT team I don't think it bodes well for us for the rest of the season. I know it's usually a close game but the last two years we have been pretty poor. If we struggle once again to move the ball then it's going to be a long day and a long season, IMO. This GT just has not been impressive in the slightest.

This one is hard to call. VT is nicked up on the line with Maddy-Marshall health concerns. Last year it was the play of Maddy and Hopkins in the middle that really disrupted the GT dive play. (Good God man, I HATE this offense.)
Many will assume that GT's D is terrible based on the Ga Southern game. However, I think that was a case of GT being up by 25 pts in the first half, and phoning it in during the 3rd quarter. Also, Ga Southern is a pretty decent team. GT will be fired up on Sat, and will not be phoning it in.
Can't predict this one, but if the Hokies can get a quick lead like 14-0, they're in good shape.
On another note - Ga Southern should have won that game. They had a 3 pt lead, they had the ball inside the GT 30, and there was about 4 min left. And...they were running over a tired GT D. That backwards pass instant replay call reversal was borderline theft.

Usually I'm worried about the QB scramble from a fast QB. But since we will have someone keyed in on him the whole game I think long QB runs will only happen from missed tackles, and he is smaller so it would have to be bad angles that get us and not his strength. I say they open some runs on us. They probably sneak it in a couple times. I think we use a more balanced attack this game get the freshman RB the ball a little more often. Game will probably be over quick with the clock not stopping much. I say we get 28, allow them 14 with a missed FG there somewhere. End of the game PJs face looks like this

It's going to be a "bend, don't break" game for VT's defense where we'll give up 4 field goals and a touchdown. On offense, Michael Brewer will find a rhythm with Bucky, and either Shai or Marshawn will have a big game. Three touchdowns, three field goals for us.

I'm very interested in seeing how the team as a whole responds. The DBs won't have another game like ECU, and Brewer won't allow for the offense to start off as slow as it did either. The D-line is concerning but I'm hearing Marshall will be a go, and Maddy has at least been practicing. The injury report will be interesting to see this week for sure though. I'm going 34-17 for the good guys.

I say I don't make predictions anymore. I was right against OSU, but soooo very wrong against ECU. Henceforth, I will just watch the games and hope for good football with us on the winning side at the end.
This only pertains to VT Football. Other schools, I will predict scores...

It will be high scoring by our standards (34-31 or something like that). The youth on our defense will take time to adjust to this offense and GT may take a lead early. I can see them scoring then us matching for the first half. I think we will look our best of the year so far in running the ball and overall will be more balanced on offense. I won't predict which side wins and would not be surprised either way.
OT: Is anyone else watching the game with the Charlotte Hokies at Blackfinn? I will be in the neighborhood after my son's soccer game and plan to catch the 2nd half there. Hopefully I walk in to see a comfortable lead and a big crowd of Hokie faithful.

38-0...oh wait GiT...eh same score...
Slye hits a 60 yd FG
I. Ford catches 3 TD passes to woo in Tolliver after Fuller has two pick 6s
Dadi and the DLine have 56 TFL to convince Sweat and Dalton to join VT
Bud Foster shoots lasers out of his eyes and burns the Ramblin Wreck to a pile of honey

Lunch Pail Defense generates 5 turnovers. 3 fumbles distributed across the bumble bee's 27 RB's. 2 INT's come late from rainbows as their QB is driven into the turf.
I like it when GT fumbles, because they always show CPJ's more-sour face and he says bad words on TV...it makes me giggle.

We are angry about last weeks game and come out firing getting a 10 point lead after 1. Then, Georgia Tech has a long 2nd Quarter drive that takes up a great deal of clock and scores to make it 10-7 at half. Georgia Tech ties it in the 3rd, but our offense starts to hit some big plays. We pull out a tight game 24-17. Georgia Tech moves the ball on our banged up D-line, but has costly turnovers that end long drives. That makes the difference in the game.

We come out pissed off and score 21 in the first half to essentially ice this game early. GT has no choice but to start airing it up in the second half, and the wheels come off for em.

After hearing some radio guys talk about how VT needs to win this game or else we become what we've been the past two years and seeing how everyone, including my previous prediction, has us scoring less points than some FCS schools did against GT I agree with this prediction.
I think they come out a little pissed and put up at least 35 and I think will hang 41 on GT while GT puts somewhere between 10-17 points on the board.

VT - 35
GT - 28
Game will only take 2-hours and 25-minutes.
Shai will be the game's leading rusher.
VT Defense will have one touchdown from an fumble recovery and return.

42 17 VT will come out and look to get everyone involved. Looking for Shai and Juice to get a TD each and then Bucky, Ford, Phillips, Stroman(kick return) get TD's
If Stroman returns one/gets a great return early that could really lift our spirits up. No idea why JC is still returning kick when Stroman has shown to be a 1 cut and go.

50-3 Hokies!!! woooooh that orange koolaid is delicious!!!
66-3 Hokies. Maroon koolaid is better.
#ALLMAROONKOOLAID
Can I ask what is the flavor of maroon Kool-Aid?
It's a mixture between... fierce grape and fierce strawberry. Ohh yeahh!!!!!!!
Maybe black cherry??
I was thinking it tastes like like GiT tears or VICTORY!!!
This was one of my favorites as a kid and it was maroon, despite the quality of the picture. I think the name is appropriate for a game in Blacksburg.
OMG I haven't seen that in like 20 yrs!!! Loved it as well.
31-21 Hokies pull away in the 4th!
This one scares me a bit.....but Im going with 28-24 VT.
VT-34 GT-31

I also have the feeling Stroman is going to break a punt return for TD very soon.

35-21 VT wins. It has worked for us well so far in a couple of games.
I predict the team who scores the most points will win.
I say Bleacher Report typically sucks at life.
But VT 42 -GT 7
We open the can this weekend.
Tech will win. HA!...someone had to say it. I say 31-17 Hokies with at least 1 special teams TD. We're due for one.
It will be closer than we like - classic GT vs. VT. Their defense is atrocious, but our defense is banged up in key places. That makes me nervous.
35-30 VT wins it. Stroman breaks a punt return for a TD.
our defense will really need to come through on those...key plays
VT gets a late start again but pulls it out 27-20. I also think we get a special teams score. Whether a block or return I will be excited to see some Beamerball.
GT some points, VT more points.

Occasionally he looks like stay puft

38-14 VT. I think VT gets off to a hot start and never looks back from there.
30-19 VT.

Bigger question: What is the final score of the head coach "who farted" looks?

26-25 VT, weird score
Looks like I missed both teams' scores by two points
21-17 Hokies
24 - 6 Hokies
For the record, anybody who goes to Bleacher Report for anything else but a laugh is wasting their time!
VT - 10 0 7 7
GT - 0 7 3 7
Final Score: Hokies - 24, Yellow Jackets - 17

20-17 VT
it feels like several of our games against GT end up at 20-17
Hokies 24 - GT 13
28 - 10, Hokies
17 -14 GiT, #reversepsychology
Hokies 28-20. There won't be much punting, but both teams are time of possession focused so expect long possessions.
VT 35
GT 10
We come out pissed off and score 21 in the first half to essentially ice this game early. GT has no choice but to start airing it up in the second half, and the wheels come off for em.
Hmm this sounds vaguely familiar...

I don't want to post a prediction because I would have to immediately downvote it. Let's just say I don't feel good about this matchup at this time.
Game hinges on: number of tackles missed in the secondary (looking at you, Chuck Clark)
VT 24 GT 23
I'm going to guess VT-28 GT-24. The game will be the first noon game to finish on Saturday.
VT - 35

I hate to say it, but 35-24 VT..most of the GT faithful are already counting this a loss, as do I. But, it's always a great matchup
Us: More points
Them: less points
let's go hokies. Get the Raid
Oh jeez. Giant cardboard cutouts of RAID containers. Why didn't anyone think of this before
33-27, 2OT - VT prevails on Marshawn rumble for a TD in the 2nd OT.
Bucky FINALLY has a HUGE game (yes, I've been saying that every week).
I don't know if my heart can handle 2OT against GT.
