LET THE MELTDOWN BEGIN!!!!

What more can be said? We had an excuse last week because East Carolina was a "good" team, but today? We had too many chances and didn't come through...How's being 2-2 feel to everyone right now? Belk Bowl here we come! Your thoughts...

You think we're going to a bowl?

If the 2012 team could get us to one (beating loluva to get there), this one sure can as well.

We are a lot better than the last two years. That much is clear to me.

While I *think* I agree with you, all that matters is the W-L record. Time will tell whether this team actually performs better than the last 2 seasons. That jury's still out.

Virginian by Birth, Hokie by Choice

The problem is, yes, we are a better team than we were in 2012 (I will agree to that) but at the same time, the competition we have on our schedule is also tougher than we're used to. Right now, our offense is not consistently good enough to hang big points on anyone, regardless of how bad a defense they might have, as evidenced by the game today. Unless we get better, and quickly, games like UNC, BC, Pitt, Miami, Duke and yes, even UVa are all tossups right now. These are teams that we should be good enough to beat, but we haven't shown the consistency in any phase of the game to assure ourselves of a victory anymore. We keep playing like we have the last 2 weeks, it is not inconceivable each and every one of those teams take advantage of those inconsistencies and knock us off.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Those games were toss ups at the beginning if the year. Only the 3 teams starting with W can't beat us.

There is a fine line between 3 and 6 and 9 win teams. We need to get better, that much is clear. But the ingredients are there to do so.

There's not a fine line between 3, 6, & 9 wins. There is a lot of football and a lot of mistakes & misuse of talent between 3, 6, & 9 wins. When you are a Power 5 program that likes to talk about winning conference titles, bowl streaks, & making a run for the MNC, you are supposed to win the games against lesser teams from lesser conferences. You're also expected to win games on your home turf, especially when favored to do so.

We can pretend the ECU loss didn't matter because it was OOC, but it mattered. There is no pretending that this home loss didn't matter. As a result, all the other conference games become even more critical. We can pretend that we know everyone will lose a conference game, but by losing our FIRST conference game, we are already a game behind.

The ingredients are there for us to get better, but so far, what we've done with those ingredients is go 2-2. We cannot continue to dig ourselves a hole and expect to climb out of it for some paltry bowl game in some unimportant setting. All the while thumping our chest about bowl streaks and winning the conference and 'Wait until Next Year!' proclamations.

We need to stop kicking the can down the road. We need to do this right THIS year.

Only the 3 teams starting with W can't beat us.

Maybe because it's late, I'm missing the point you're trying to get at.

Are you trying to say that W&M, Western Michigan, and Wake Forest are guaranteed wins? Because at this point, the only two guaranteed wins this team has are W&M and Ohio State. The only thing guaranteed about this season is that come the end of November, we will be somewhere between 2-10 and 10-2.

We won't be bowl eligible this year. UVA wins by 28. Last remaining piece of pride will be destroyed. And then, finally, maybe we see progress...

How's that for a worst case scenario?

UVA is ahead of us in conference, and has a better chance of taking the division.

Boo.

Duuuuuude, I hate losing games like that. Can we just play a RELATIVELY clean game please. Way too many penalties.

We've been beaten worse, but I don't know if I've ever seen a more pathetic team performance. If we don't stop getting illegal substitution penalties, I'm gonna go postal.

It's a beautiful day outside, I'm already drunk, VT lost, not that great slate of games the rest of the day, still got a lot of beer, UVA is up on BYU. I don't know man....VT may make a bowl. They may win the Coastal too. It's a young team. But Shane Beamer keeps making really bad decisions about who plays. We got a good young kicker - I think. We got good young WRs & RBs I'm really excited about. The OL still isn't very good and OL recruiting is not that good.

Loeffler looked pretty good against OSU. He seems to get some good recruits - I want to emphasize "good"...not great.

I guess I don't know what to think. I want to stay positive. I want Frank to ride the white horse out in a glowing sunset. Reality is that's very rare. But 2015 might be something.

We got a gunslinger mentality QB with a noodle arm. Big concern. He also transferred here because there was an early chance at playing time. He couldn't make it at his dream school that his daddy played for and failed at arguably the 3rd best football school in his state.

Sorry for the rambling drunken post. Reality is this is a 6-8 win program in the worst power 5 conference in college football today. I don't want that. I like that we're young and have a lot of really promising talent. I don't like the decision making of Shane Beamer and I don't like the procedure penalties. I think it's time we move on from Frank. He was great, a ST pioneer. Hall of Famer.

not to poke the bear but I think Texas would take him now....they need a qb badly...also Texas Tech wouldnt let him transfer to another Big 12 school so that is how he ended up here

A new season...new hope

I still like Brewer, but he's just not 'great'. He makes some dumb throws. Some of the dumb throws end up for big plays. That's what gunslingers do. Problem is he doesn't make enough crazy great throws to make up for the crazy dumb throws.

I don't care about the QB situation at TXTech of Texas. He's playing here because of recruiting inepitude by people Frnak Beamer hired. That's what I really care about.

Oh and UF just scored as semi-fat guy TD.

He's like Brett Favre without the arm...

Just gonna throw this out there, has anyone else considered that Brewer might be playing with a concussion?

He flat out refused to be examined on the sideline at OSU and then got murdered again against ECU. Do we know if he ever actually got evaluated during or after either of the last two games before today?

"I liked you guys a lot better when everybody told you you were terrible." -Justin Fuente

I've thought the same thing.

Lets "grade out" the team and coaches

QB - D+, weak arm, bad decision making, good on short throws, cannot hit the mid to long throws, 3 ints...
QB Coach - C-, if you have not figured out your QB by now, what will it take. Go with what is working, try other things in that area that are working.
RB - B+, minus the fumble, they all run hard, great to see #14 running it again
RB Coach - F, rotation is a joke, the RBs are running off pure talent, I see no coaching in them
WR - A, Freshmen are studs, veterans also making the effort, Byrn had great second efforts
WR coach - A, The effort is there and the freshmen do not make this big of an impact just from raw talent, they are being coached (compare them to the RBs)
Line - D, we are just not good, period
Line coach - C, only because we are on our third in 3 years
OC - D, my biggest issues are lack of targeting Hodges, or any TE for that matter, trying to stick the square peg with plays when the round hole is what you are looking at, and finally, not going north and south. Two goal line series where the first two plays went east/west (from what I recall, maybe my head was just permanently tilted in disbelief one direction by the time i started trying to pay attention)

Dline - B - played good enough to win
LBs - C+ - effort is there, just undersized, and a little less on the talent side
DBs - C- - looked lost a lot, and caught guessing a lot
D Coach - C - back to back games for giving up record pass and rush yards in some time

Special teams - D - punting was not sharp, kick blocked, penalties. The only strong things are the kicker and #3. Use to be I would hold my breath out of excitement for special teams, now it is in hopes we do not turn it over or get a penalty.

Over all coaching - D. It is obvious whatever they "think" is working is not. It is also obvious that the talent is there, it is just young, so they have not matured and grown enough to bail out poor coaching as in past years.

So, this was fun, especially typing with one eye shut so I could focus, apologies for grammar and stepping on toes. It is a beautiful day and least and the beer is cold, so not all negatives. I'm sure i will wake up tomorrow and begin getting excited for what will hopefully be a W next week. GO HOKIES!

So... you're saying it could have been worse.

Ha! Of course, we could have had a few more illegal substitution penalties... I mean heck, we only had four, and none in the 4th quarter!! So by the end of the game both the offense and defense knew that there were only suppose to be 11 in the huddle and on the field... progress.

A leg up for being a glass half full kind of guy.

I'm still giving lefty a chance. Feel like he doesn't have a QB yet. Ford and Durkin too green, so Brewer seems to be his best option.

I see a lot of promise in Brewer, he just needs to be decent and not make mistakes. So that at the moment should be Leftys goal, end mistakes.

He needs to simply the playbook and emphasize execution rather than constantly just try to trick defenses. He needs to simply the personnel packages, because the players are so confused that they can't even get that right. We need the mentality of keeping it simple and just out-playing the opponent with superior execution. Auburn doesn't need a dizzying array of formations and personnel packages to win. They basically use the same formation and run several plays out of, but they just execute well.

This is the biggest problem.

The coaches are not adjusting to the players. They are stubbornly trying to make them fit the system.

Yes we have good DB's but even the best DBs need some help over the top. They can't run like that all day.

The running game is so silly at this point. Shane does not understand situational usage. This is why run plays are always disjointed. They drag their feet and then get the ball. There is no timing when 4 guys run the ball. We need 2 RB's that is all.

The offensive schemeing and trickery is just too damn cute. Lefty has a great offensive scheme that is easily beat by qb pressure and running with the tallest guy on the field. His game plan never changes and he could have easily tried to run some clockbwhen VT was up with 5 minutes left.

This team will not get better until these coaches simplify the plan and execute those plays perfect every time.

Gobble Gobble!

I will actually argue against simplifying the game plan on offense, after initially feeling in favor of it yesterday.

What we're seeing on offense, at least, are growing pains. Lefty's system is way more situational and way more complex than his predecessor's. It's gonna take time for the offense to adjust to it. And the right time to force those adjustments is during a rebuilding year.

Sorry, folks, but that's what this is: a rebuilding year. No matter how much we wanted to believe it was something else after Ohio State.

So now is the time to say, here's the system. Learn it. Stumble as you will, but get this under your belt now, so that it's all old hat come next season. It's a lot to learn, to be sure, and the resulting product is gonna be ugly on the field at times, but that's where we are. Complex system, lots of freshmen, lots of upperclassmen not used to the new complexities. Simplifying the system might get us two more wins this year, but at the expense of future seasons. If we're gonna implement Lefty's scheme, let's just do it. And I do still believe in Lefty's scheme.

"I liked you guys a lot better when everybody told you you were terrible." -Justin Fuente

lets also remember that our offensive stars are: a transfer QB who before coming here ran a single wing klempson type offensive in HS then an Air Raid in College. Two Freshman Running backs, Two Freshman Wideouts, Three tight ends who havent really played a full season yet. OH and an Oline that has 3 different coaches/blocking systems over the last three years.

A new season...new hope

Not impressed by Shane Beamer. Seems like Frank wants to groom him to take over the HC job next but that shouldn't happen.

Agreed. Our rotation is a joke.

If you play it, they will win.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

We need to get better, plenty if time for that. We knew these three teams back to back to back was tough because of their offensive uniqueness. Need to get right next week and play our asses of against UNC.

Would it be the worst thing if we didn't go to a bowl? They really don't mean anything anymore.

I could see us losing to UNC, Pitt and BC at least with the team if they keep playing like this.

Yes, because that means we go at the best, 5-7. Is the post season all that matters anyone to some people?

The postseason is not the only thing that matters.

Currently, that is a good thing for this team is my point. They need to learn quite a lot, maybe missing a bowl and concentrating on learning would not be the worst thing.

I think that the losing will teach these kids enough. It's not like they have been spoiled by wins. I still think this a good football team that is just to young right now. Every game we will get better, culminating in a donimating performance against LOLUVA.

I would agree that missing a bowl would be a wake-up call, however, with a team this young they need to be together and learning/developing as much as possible. If the team makes a bowl game, that is an extra month of bowl practices and more time to develop chemistry. I would much rather have that extra month.

Not going to a bowl means less practice time for underclassmen, less game time. Not going bowling doesn't help anything.

Now who would down vote this. Palm to face...

We'll to be fair, that extra time hasn't helped a lick the last few years.

I'm just being silly (sort of). But I feel like the bowl streak and all of that kind of becomes this "Yeah...but, the bowl streak" to gloss over the fact that our team is not getting better, be that game to game or season to season for a bit now.

If you hadn't noticed, we haven't exactly had the players (offense mainly) the last few years, we have some good looking freshmen this year

It's almost not possible for us to fail to get a bowl bid. We would have to be 5-7, and with our schedule, that is almost not possible. Yes, we've played really badly today. Even with all that, we still almost won against a GT team that is horrible. They have no defense, their DBs are incompetent. Their offense needs a miracle to come from behind for a win.

Yet, they are one of the better ACC teams. SO, looking at the rest of our schedule, we might stink it up, but there's almost NO way we won't get to some kind of irrelevant bowl to 'Keep The Streak Alive!'

Next Saturday is a whole new game. It's important that the team not lose hope in themselves, and that we keep the faith in them. Things have looked bleak before, and the team has responded.

LET'S GO, HOKIES!

We just need a good QB, if Brewer can magically cut down on his interceptions for the rest of the season then I'm not worried. If he can't, maybe the coaching staff needs to come out of its comfort zone for once and put in Durkin or (gasp) Leal.

Brewer is a pretty good qb and will get better. This is his first season as a starter so give him a chance. I like the fact that he can make plays with his arm because we have no running game and won't anytime soon. At least we aren't going three and out every time we get the ball like the past couple of years. If Brewer cuts out the interceptions he'll be ok. I can't remember Logan Thomas throwing for 300+ yards...I'm sure he did at some point be he was garbage.

Brewer still needs to learn I guess. I think most of us thought since he graduated and transferred he'd be good but I think he cost us te game honestly. I dot know if his fumble grab and td makes up for his pick six put that was a horrible decision. His pick six crushed us IMO. Three int's. THREE!! I mean he has yet to play a game without an int. I guess I can forgive his w&m int since it was tipped and maybe one of his osu ones because it was a good play by the db. But today I think was sorry. I mean learn to take the sack. You are up. Take the sack and punt. It's not like that was the final drive of the game trying to win the thing. That I can understand. But a third down or whatever and your up??? C'mon man!!!! I'm not a Leal truther or anything but if he has some more int's next game somethig has to be looked at. I mean 9 int's in 4 games. More int's than td's. Ughhh.

Four times, twice against Miami.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

I agree, and I hope he can cut down his interceptions. I think he has a lot of potential. But the big question is, what if he struggles all season? Do we just want to keep him in as our starter just out of blind loyalty or by just being nice? I'd like to see the coaching staff open up the QB competition again and see if another QB can play a more consistent game.

I am the heartbeat of Blacksburg. A fortress built out of stone but made with champions.

It sounds like you're not really that familiar with Frank's philosophy regarding QBs. Hint - he's not too keen on switching them out. He's not even keen on letting the backup get any playing time in blowouts. He really wants only one guy. Brewer will be given ample time to sort out his INT issues. There are enough other problem areas for Frank to not point the finger at just Brewer and say - 'He's the problem'.

Also, Loeffler is VERY sold on Brewer, and Beamer doesn't really veto much that his assistants promote. A better example would be that of Shane, who really has no clue what he's doing as RB coach. Yet, a third of the way through the season, and any RB has only exceeded a dozen carries in a game one time. A dozen carries is normally what the secondary guy gets, not the primary back. We have historically averaged 40-45 rushes per game. So, under Shane, we're splintering the carries so widely that we only have had someone get a third of the carries in a game once. It's widely accepted that the primary back gets half the carries in a game. Except under Shane, where they're lucky to get a fourth. That's an area of concern where the solution would provide much more breathing room for the QB & passing game, instead of being an anchor.

We've got lots of issues, QB isn't the only one.

I feel like this is what we're all reaching for right now

I thought we would come out this game and try to emphasize the power running game...but between the poor play of the O-Line, the play calling, and horrible decision making by Brewer which only seems to get worse every game we didn't see it. The funny thing is the rest of the schedule is very winnable, however since you obviously can't predict how this team plays from week to week they certainly will blow another 2 or 3 games.

Yeah that's the thing, the rest of the schedule is losable too. I think that's just the team we have this year. We've struggled to put games away but we're going to be in every game (hopefully).

Exactly. I was saying the whole schedule was winnable after we eat OSU. It still is. If we lose to w mich the wheels have fallen off. I don't think we will but still.

Belk Bowl? Let's be realistic. The streak might be in jeopardy.

This is not a sky is falling, fire everyone post. This is an acknowledgment that we do not have four gimme wins left on this schedule. If we lost at home to a bad Georgia Tech team then we can lose to anyone. Yeah, sure, we can beat anyone, too. And I really do believe that. But this might be the most schizophrenic team we've seen in twenty years.

Hold on, folks. It's gonna be one hell of a ride.

"I liked you guys a lot better when everybody told you you were terrible." -Justin Fuente

It's the fourth game and a lot of young kids. Lot of errors, even by older kids. Meant melt down, too early. Let's be realistic. Tired of this over expectation bull.

What over expectations? I don't think expecting to win at least one against ECU or a mediocre GT team at home is asking too much.

If it is, than Hokie football is in worse shape than I thought.

Being disappointed that your team can't play anything resembling disciplined football 4 games in is not expecting too much.

I'm talking about these end of the world discussions. Expectations that we would be undefeated.

Sorry, but a lot of fans haven't been Hokie fans long enough. I saw ECU coming long before. GT always plays us hard and is a nail biter. Most other long term fans tend to agree, these are not surprises. Beating OSU blew things up, dance on Main Street and make shirts that say the season is a win.

I feel that our fans support like the team plays some games. Not the whole thing. We have lost a lot of games in the last few minutes, even seconds. Our fans stop supporting when a game or two is lost. It's not the end of the season. We have a Lott of ACC games left. These boys have a lot of growing up left.

Now is the time, we as a fan base need to step up and support our team more than ever.

Special Teams

Blocked Field Goals - 0 - Beat at

Lack of Beamerball

I'm pretty sure special teams was the only unit that didn't really cost us the game. Sure, there were a few bad blocks-in-the-backs, but that happens almost every game for every team.

Offense made far, far too many mistakes, and the defense did the same.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Those missed 3 points are pretty important right now, no?

I've noticed the lack of blocked kicks also. But I think its mostly because of the risk of a penalty. With how much they protect the kickers (and even the holders), sometimes its not worth the 15 yard penalty. We all know that the refs love to throw their flags these days. It makes more sense to get blockers back there to set up a good return. You cant blame any loss on a lack of blocked kicks.

Shit the bed.I can't really make any sense of this. Why? Why? Did I do something really wrong in the 80's?

What at total face plant!

We all did something wrong in the 80s.

I'm not gonna say the entire season is lost because it's not. I will say no NC chance (duh) and probably no ACCCG chance. as of right now we are playing for a bowl. i'm gonna go to games and watch them on TV and hope they win, but honestly it's not looking good. i see two wins we should get on the schedule easy but the way tech plays, i'm not sure. I hope we make a bowl and dominate in it, but the team needs to come together and realize this kind of play is NOT ACCEPTABLE

Would this be a bad time to remind everyone there are still 'Mission Accomplished' shirts available? You know, before they all get sent to the Sudan?

Listen I think we all need to settle down we've all been here before and in a lot worse circumstances we are .500 right now not 1-3 or 0-4...yeah we've made the road pretty tough for us the rest of the way but it certainly can be done we've done it plenty of times before when people have counted us out..forget about all the so called "experts" putting a fork in us and leaving us for dead and making us question everything we know. We still have a long way to go and next week is a big week to add some confidence lets save hitting the panic button for next week if things don't go good!

One of the biggest thoughts on my mind this morning is how East Carolina thoroughly whipped North Carolina. We all know how legitimately good of a team ECU truly is, but what amazes me is how much they are dominating. They almost beat South Carolina, they beat us, they dominated North Carolina... and they had the 76th recruiting class in the nation last year? I realize they have a senior quarterback that is very well practiced, but why is it that a a team that gets significantly less talent in recruits shows up that much in every game they play? It could be heart. But it could also be coaching. South Carolina had the 16th best class, UNC had the 23rd best, and we had the 25th best. It's great for ECU and I'm happy for them, but relatively this shouldn't happen against schools that get significantly much better talent year in and year out. There's no excuse. I don't want to point fingers (because pointing fingers is useless and there's probably many more factors than we ever know) but it makes me wonder about how our coaches handle things or imagine how our coaches could handle things. If a team with the 76th recruiting class can win games like this, we should too. There's simply not an excuse.

Sometimes teams get breaks, and get fired up at the right time. Look at duke last year; I blame that mostly on Time Cop stupidly running up the score on them last year (something Beamer never seems to do (which I believe is one of the reasons why he's so highly regarded by his peers and college football in general)), which backfired in a hilarious way.

Their coaching staff & team thrive on playing the underdog role. The coaches are able to take 2&3 star recruits and 'coach them up' to play on a level with the bigger name teams who get the higher rated recruits. They've found a system that works for their coordinators. Despite being in something of a backwater town, they capitalize on the school's environment to create a rabid fan base that is extremely loyal and that travels to support them well in their road games. They rely on a blue collar work ethic to compete, and it resonates with their fans extremely well. Despite being outside the 'power circle' of conferences, they have a very solid reputation as a program you can never take too lightly.

Any of that sound familiar? They are us back when we were trying to prove ourselves.

Well, I think we should start thriving on the underdog role...

Remember when people used to talk about VT like this? Ah, those were the days.

If you play it, they will win.

"How the ass pocket will be used, I do not know. Alls I know is, the ass pocket will be used." -The BoD

You can't measure an athletes heart and fight by sticking stars next to his name and crowing him the best of the best before he's even played a down of college football. So to argue anything based on were our recruiting class was ranked compaired to theirs is more or less a waste of time because you can't coach heart

I realize this. I realize that any team can beaten on any given day, given which teams show up to play and executes a great game plan. But I also realize that stars do mean something. It's the reason that the majority of the schools that have top 10 recruiting classes normally have great seasons. A star doesn't define a person, no. Without proper coaching and heart, stars actually mean nothing. But I'm not just talking about heart. I'm talking about talent. It wasn't just heart that almost beat South Carolina. It wasn't just heart that beat us. It wasn't just heart that dominated UNC. It was talent. They've displayed that talent week in and week out. Their coaches are doing something right and something that a lot of other coaches need to instill into other programs.

My 2 cents: I think ECU can play well with the 72 ranked class because they are getting the Sam Rogers types ( I am going out on a limb here but stay with me) These are the guys that major programs dont want because they are too small, too slow, too something that doesnt fit the typical D-1 athlete. This guys stick around and play all 4 /5 for red shirt years and have a passion for playing football. So every couple of years you have a team of 22 year olds playing against talented 18 year olds. Bigger, older, more experienced guys that have been in a consistent system for multiple years so even though they are less 'talented' they know their roles and know how to play together.

Man I tell you what we are a positive bunch! Its not like we play in the SEC. UNC doesnt know what a defense is. At all. UVA still has Mike London even though they look much better this year. Duke isn't as good as last year. Miami is inconsistent but probably a loss. We may be a mess but we are a talented mess and if you can bust into Brewer's head and make him stop throwing those terrifying lobs we aren't that bad. Emphasize the run. Feed Shai and Marshawn. You can't tell me the Defense is magically bad all of a sudden. They are still ultra talented and wont play like they did yesterday. I'm not saying we are going to the ACC championship or something but it isn't unheard of. Beamer is at his best when the wheels have fallen off and it looks like we are going over the cliff. Lets just wait and see before we shut it down and start looking to next year.

If you're willing to bench a second year defender for poor performance and call it "an injury", then please bench our interior linemen. Liked the series where we brought in Hansen, just thought it needed to be on the other side of the line. Also can Teller center the ball???? how about Smith...of not teach them NOW!!!!! Team performance will not change until we have stronger personnel on the field. Time to make some changes..... Hansen, Teller, Wang, Conti, and McClothin. Gibson, Smith and Ferris can be substitutes in that order.

Let's Go.....HOKIES!!!

Reading this thread makes me feel like the winter is coming for VT football :/

To start this note off, I want to you remind you this is NOT in Malice or in Anger. Hopefully you will agree with me on these points.

YAAA WE BEAT OHIO STATE (2 weeks ago...)
there was motivation, go on the road to a Top 10 team, and knock them out like LL Cool J (or Five finger Death Punch) Told you to do.

Then afterwards, come back and play flat against a GOOD Ecu team. Some of us expected that (me included)

Then say "We can still win the ACC Championship" and "We want that ACC title", but lose to GT.
So status now 2-2 (0-1 ACC). We are behind the 8-ball in the ACC Coastal Race. and in many thoughts, not even going to make a bowl. Honestly, if the team continues to play like they have, this will be the end to the bowl streak.

Let's say IF you wanted to lose weight and took this same approach, you would not lose a single ounce. "Oh I want to lose weight", but you refuse to exercise and diet, you wont lose anything. And you will get frustrated when people ask you why you havent lost weight after making this promise.

to relate this to Tech. wanting to win the acc is their goal like losing weight, working out is "playing better" and dieting is "cutting back on Turnovers and big (passing) plays on D".

Willie Burn stated "We need to treat every game like we are on the road in a hostile environment" is he admitting they play better on the road? yes. is he admitting that they play soft at home? not for sure, but with the way they play, the team admitted it.

I am going to all the Home games, I will watch and support Tech, and yes I will get frustrated WHEN they lose. but can you blame me? if you are a seasoned Hokie fan, you know this happens every year. It's heartbreaking to watch the team you love go out and make the same mistakes year after year and lose to teams that have no right to play on the same field as the Hokies. It's disappointing but it happens every year, because the same mistakes happen every time. Virginia Tech has lost 4 of it's last 5 home games, to teams they SHOULD have beaten. This is THE TERROR DOME, where's this teams intesity to go out and knock every guy out, roll through D line mean, and blast recievers? The fans and students are doing there part, being loud and proud.

I'm not sure what motivation this team needs but they need to find it, they need to find heart, and passion. you should not only dominate on the road, but on Worsham Field instead. If the team doesn't want to show up to home games, then I pray we never have another home game again.

Last Time I remembered, the Hokies Play in the Terror Dome, they are a blue collar team with a workhorse mentality. You're saying is time to go to work but what I have to say is Your two week break is over, now GET BACK TO WORK

sincerely,
A Diehard Hokie

The hymn of the TKP member:

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Beamerball and it's success.
When hokies win, I'm feeling great,
But when we lose I'm down for days.

Oh football why do you hold sway
On my emotions day to day?
Will I survive til sat-ur-day?
