Just saw a flurry of crystal balls come in for VT on 247. This could be a massive get for us. Watching his hudl highlights, he tips a lot of passes into the air which could turn into a lot of interceptions.
I really like Dalton. If I could have picked DE recruits purely on how their ability fits into Bud Foster's system, Dalton and Hill would have been my top 2. Of course, Sweat is outstanding, and perception-wise, we have to get him because our fanbase would be freaking out in state. But that vision neglects to see how the Hokies are getting top players from North Carolina, Maryland, Flordia, Georgia, etc.

But to be fair, these guys seem to hit way more than they miss. And I don't see them pandering towards the crowd to get page clicks nearly as much as some other recruiting sites do.

If they favor us than yes, but if not those guys don't know what they're talking about.
They can be a very useful tool for spying and predicting what others are thinking, but at the same time, they're a dangerous tool, as they have not all been accounted for and we don't know who else could be watching.

Since they are willing to change their predictions right up to the night before the verbal, the predictions are worthless this far in advance.

Any updates on Jalen Dalton? I heard he made an unofficial visit to UNC this past weekend for the Georgia Tech game. Gets me nervous. You think he has second thoughts after that pitiful performance last Thursday?
I follow him on twitter and he seemed to have much more of an emphasis on the Dadi hit on Voytik than the game itself. He said two weeks ago that he was trying to get to the Miami game Thursday and will be here on his official for the BC game November 1st.

Whether that really is the case or not (I'm leaning towards not), this is VERY good news for us, especially if he doesn't reschedule a visit there.

Sounded more like sour grapes embellishment from an Ohio State fan to me. IMO prospects on visits can cheer for whoever they want. An Official visit is the school's and the school's fans' chance to make a good impression on the prospect.
If people were getting on his case for simply cheering the Hokies instead of OSU I can see how he could get a little wound up and get into a little argument with someone about it or cheer even louder. Getting kicked out of the section sounds a little like BS though.
Exactly this. I've seen that he was talking up VT on his visit on other OSU boards, but this is the first that I've heard of him being belligerent about it and security getting involved. Definitely doesn't sound egregious enough of an offense for security to get involved.

I believe it. There's been a lot of rumor around this one saying that he specifically chose that game so that he could see VT play on the road in a tough venue. And it didn't really sound like the Ohio St coaches really felt good about his visit after the fact.

being cautiously optimistic because we are talking about a 5* talent from out of state .... but if Dalton is coming to Lane tomorrow night .. on a Thursday ... then taking his OV here ... then announcing a day later -- I'd have to think that he knows where he's going .. and it's here. I dunno -- just a hunch but making a Thursday night game trip is pretty big.
I don't subscribe to any paysites, but from what I've read it has become official that he will be here tomorrow. Hopefully Settle and Dalton hit it off and become best of buds for at least the next 3 years.

I think more than the win, the atmosphere will count. Even if we lose (I hope not, but you never know), we should showcase Thursday night in Lane stadium in all its electric glory. That is going to impress these recruits.

I realize this is pure speculation on my part, but did VT's chances with Jalen Dalton increase after the report about UNC? I would think that the fact that people are openly speculating about the hammer that the NCAA may lay upon UNC has to sway the kid, or at least his partents, that VT is the place for him.
I think the whole situation is reason enough for any recruit for any sport to consider his/her options. The athletic department may survive with minimal intervention from the NCAA, but the school could face repercussions. Anyone that cares at all about the value of the degree should be concerned.
I think we benefit from the scandals at UNC, even though I hate for that to be the way things go down.
