Two highly rated guys are expected to announce this weekend! Jalen Dalton will announce on Friday!! Odds look good, I believe we are neck and neck with him and it may go down to the wire! On Saturday Darrell Taylor will announce! I think he will be a hokie since his Florida trip was cancelled. Then on Saturday we have another big time official visit with Tim Settle- I don't expect him to make a commitment, but stranger things have happened. All in all this is a big weekend hokies!! I know people are mad about losses but we need to fill lane and be loud as ever! We are turning a corner in recruiting and to get officials from so many highly ranked guys says something. And now I will finish my beer!!!

'"Huge News!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" -Kennyhokie' - Michael Scott.
RIP Kennyhokie
I really miss that guy. his comments were always a breath of fresh air. Like listening to your little brother.
ahha just had to very thirsty

Always upvote Key and Peele
Wait what happened to kennyhokie?
I googled for him and found his name on a few posts and comments with a turkey leg count of -4.
Edit: from this tread
wow, I don't remember kennyhokie being that way at all
Yea he broke the TKP golden rule and tried to deny our collective pussy touchdowns. I, like you, like to remember him for the good times...and envision him wearing a tuxedo t-shirt cause it says that he's formal but likes to party.
Of all the things we do on TKP, denying pussy touchdowns is NOT one of them
KP=automatic upvote....
*Darrell Taylor. But that is very encouraging news. All signs point towards a commitment from Darrell Taylor, so only getting him would be huge. But if we were able to get both, man oh man would that be a solid day for the class.
Dang auto correct!
All of the above, please!
I sure hope we get both but Im still thinking Taylor will come to VT and Dalton will go to UNC and not have to go to class!
I feel real good about Taylor, but I am also feeling good about Dalton. Just a hunch, but I think we get both. Our offer to Sweat will stay on the table. It will be interesting to see if anyone pulls their offer from Sweat based on the injury, but I know we won't.
I almost... almost give the Million Dollar Man laugh just thinking about it. It is sad that the Hokies couldn't pull out the win against the Yellow Jackets, because if they did, my whole film review would be Marshall jumping over the center to tackle Thomas on 3rd and short followed by maniacal Ted Dibiase laughing gifs.
That is just.... beautiful
I would strongly endorse the creation of a "Corey Marshall eats Justin Thomas for lunch" GIF from that play. Probably my favorite moment from the entire game.
Indeed. In fact, its my favorite defensive moment against GT since Ky. Fuller jumped the line and stripped GT QB. At that moment, I thought "We got this".
hopefully after watching the hokies play on Saturday, those recruits could see for themselves that the hokies could use defensive reinforcement since depth is really thin.
Only a FIVE exclamation point recruiting weekend, pfffffffttt, call me when we get to 10.
NSFW: Pair of Boobies
Get those Boobies someplace warm! They're turning blue!
I see boobies, something else normally turns blue...
High School was rough sometimes..
NO WHAMMIES! BIG BOX!
If we get Taylor, Dalton, Gaines, Sweat, and Settle to go along with Hill, Lewis, Whitehead we would have pulled the best DL class in 2015. Not too mention there is a chance we could also flip Darius Fullwood.
that would probably make this class the best defensive class weve ever recruited. weve played a lot of true freshman this year, i think that actually helps from recruiting because were able to tell these guys (and mean it) you can have an impact the first day. all of these guys really would have that opportunity too
We do that and we'll legitimately have a national championship caliber defense.
I pray pray pray it happens. Lord knows we need some positive momentum right now.
I fully admit I am in the positive thinking category and this is why I have not bothered to post on any of the "what went wrong" posts, but largely I see a program that is turning around. I know you disagree, but I look at where we were in that final year of O'cainspring and I think about how bleak I felt about the Hokie's future. We were a sinking ship with a bare cupboard... made me sick to my stomach.
contrast that to now and I see something different entirely. Sure, I HATE to lose against ECU and especially GT, but I see a team that is struggling with team things. I see a serious upswing in recruiting. I see the cupboard being restocked with fresh talent, and in many respects like WRs better talent than we've had in a very long time. This team has issues. It's going to be a challenging year fan wise if they can't get things under control, but by no means do I see a sinking ship. I see a "sleeping dragon" (I'm in China, dragon metaphors are fair game for me) that needs to get out of it's own way. When we are on, like OSU we are seriously on. When we are off, like these last two games, we are off. But ECU just obliterated UNC and we gifted GT the win. I can respect these things as being correctable.
I realize high school is high school and college is different, but I was on a state finals caliber team my junior year. We seriously kicked ass. We didn't win state but we were ripping opponents, and the majority of our players were underclassmen. Come our senior year we were expected to run the table, only we didn't. All that seniority and we kept killing ourselves with mental mistakes. In our case, I believe entitlement set in, Iverson Syndrome. Not sure what it is with the Hokies but I don't think it's coaching, and I don't think it's scheme. It almost looks like over thinking and trying to play up to how they feel they should play. That happens after big wins. You just feel you should win and over think rather than just play, and you make stupid mistakes like substitution penalties.
Again, I know we disagree on that. And I am not going to get into a debate. Just wanted to say I think we are not far removed from positive momentum.
fernley, I'm with you in the optimistic boat. Yes, I have been extremely upset over these losses, but I keep falling back on the words from pre-2003 vs da U: I BELIEVE!!!
Although, dang does it get tough sometimes.
Reynolds and Edmunds III as well. Both will be special
I'd like to add one more DB, Tolliver or the other Adonis. Then we'd have Adonii.
I see what you did there.
This would be a Alabama, FSU, USCw in its prime type of haul.
Glad we are playing some talented true freshman...not because there is no one else to play but because they are the best players and deserve to be on the field. That to me shows recruits that they can play right away. I'm sure it's stated and they understand that they have to earn that but that a redshirt is not required if they can show they deserve to be starting. Exciting recruiting class.
You can learn more, sometimes, about a person/organization when you observe how they deal with adversity, than with success.
Hopefully the staff is capitalizing on this group of recruits.
I'm feeling optimistic as well.
Oh my! This thread just hit me outta nowhere!

Looks like I better pick up some extra tequila, and maybe a real sombrero to throw down for my ritual mexican hat dance gone wrong.
Ok - someone needs to make sure these guys get plenty of Hardee's coupons this weekend...
Paging PeteBuddyWilson, BuddyWilson you have a call on line #1
Can you transfer it to my burner?
Just make sure the coupons are in an unmarked envelope and not traceable to anyone connected to VT.
Hope we get both... that would certainly ease the pain of the last two weeks.
UNC definitely feels the pressure:
Source: http://northcarolina.247sports.com/Bolt/UNCs-Larry-Fedora-takes-chopper-...
I heard the chopper was intercepted by Kyle Fuller
I heard he left in the chopper in the 3rd quarter of the ECU game so he didn't have to stay for the end
Fedora was at the game? Couldn't tell by the score...
He was there. He stated that he let ECU run up the score so he could emphasize to defensive recruits the need for quality players like them. A recruiting strategy.
You know I'm really glad we aren't totting recruits around in a chopper.
Seems ridiculous and desperate if you ask me.
They didn't tote Dalton in the chopper, Fedora took the chopper to go see Dalton's game.
flying prospects around in a helicopter sounds like a next level university of miami swaggy NCAA recruiting infraction to me.
Umm, there already is a "swagcopter"

It's amazing how Vietnam looked in no way like Southern California.
Too damn true for me to laugh, too many memories of rice paddies.
I don't know why I laughed so hard at this.
Rambo laying down the LAW
I love seeing the general mood of TKP shifting from "What the hell is wrong with our program!" to "Hey, we're going to be all right."
Hope to see some of these recruits take their talents to Blacksburg!
I think it is very easy for us fans to live game by game than to look at the big picture most times.
Guilty.
Looks like the Hokies have pulled even with the heels for Jalen Dalton. Coming from a #source close to Dalton's recruitment:
Looking like he'll take another visit to UNC before deciding. So much positive recruiting news today that I might need to change my shorts!
Full wood has committed so let's get Taylor and make it two for the weekend!
Gayle's working on Settle a bit. Nice to see that. https://twitter.com/JGayle99/status/514882247544295424
Could he send that to Josh Sweat as well while he's at it?
If he had a twitter maybe.
Oh really, this doesn't concern you a little bit?

That's a fake. Every Josh Sweat account (there have been several) are illegitimate.
Good look
