Excellent article, Andy.

Blunt reflection from Beamer & the players. It's sad that it had to be said, but it is true. I am glad they are taking an objective look at their execution.

Outside of a few quibbles, I don't have a lot of problems with the schemes we are trying to implement.

I know we have the talent at almost every position to be successful.

We just need a renewed focus from everyone: Head Coach to waterboy, 1st string QB to walk-on scout-team member.

Execute. I don't care if we lose every game the rest of the season, so long as we clean up the mental errors and the careless play that lost us the last one against what I think is a relatively bad GT team, and cost us just enough against what appears to be a very good ECU.

Skimming this article, i misread it and thought it said Ken Ekanem also tore his meniscus. Profanity ensued until a second, more thorough reading was completed.

Andy,

Any news on Chase Williams and his concussion?

-- Beamer said tight end Ryan Malleck (knee/ankle) thinks he'll be ready this week. The junior sat out the Georgia Tech game. Tech will know for sure later in the week.
"Hes another really tough guy, and a guy that we miss," Beamer said. "I mean, hes kind of a glue kind of guy, keeps things holding together there. He makes big plays and you miss him on third down."

It's obvious that Malleck is a linchpin in this offense. With that being said and his injury history, I really hope they are working on developing Bucky and Kalvin's blocking ability and the like.

Have not seen this anywhere else; but I wondered if the illegal substitution penalties are related to Josh Stanford taking a leave of absence. Was there confusion about who was supposed to be in the game in places that Stanford used to fill?

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

We had just as many against ECU, so my guess is no.

Sub penalties in the ECU game were on the defense. GT game was all offensive penalties.

Leonard. Duh.

I think that only really reinforces my point - the whole team is lacking focus on what's going on. It's not because one guy isn't in there.
