What a classy move by Frank Beamer, I bet a lot of other coaches wouldn't let a kid transfer to a school they play in the next 4 years. I have a feeling Mangus will be a perfect fit for ECU considering they play an all out attack type of scheme.
Good Luck to him... Will be interesting to see him play against us next year.

Fully agree with Choppin: Classy move by Frank, and one that should make most other coaches hang their heads in shame.
Mangus has always been a personal favorite of mine, and I expect we'll likely see far more of him than we'd prefer as fans of VT.
But I'll root for him in every game except for when he plays us.
Agreed, I've always liked him and was disappointed to see him go.
I don't like that we're going to have to play against him because I've always thought he had talent but just couldn't get on the field here. Even more disappointing is that he was behind Trey and JC, and now they're not starting, either.
This is a good move all around for everyone.
He should have been ahead of JC IMO. Always like him as well. As much as I will hate to see him line up against us, I am happy to see that he landed in a program that seems to be on the upswing and didn't land at some FCS school or a bad FBS program. His future should be bright at ECU.

Good luck, Chris. I hope you get quality playing time and finish off a good degree down at ECU. Solid move by Beamer; he definitely cares more about what's best for his guys than any on-field competition.
I bet in the next few years we'll be asking how we could let that guy go. It's too bad he didn't have a spot here, but he'll excel in their system.
I thought Mangus already transferred somewhere? Was he still on campus just not on the team?? He always played well when he was in the game for us. Hopefully he does well there minus when they play us of course.
ECU coaching staff:
Bloody space pirates! Not sure if "impressed" or "shanghaied" fits better, but since it was voluntary…bloody space pirates!
Good for him, glad he landed on his feet.
Now, I just hope when we meet next, he has one hell of a brutal front 7 to have to run through in our game.
Anthony Scott (recruited at VT) looks like he will be a good one there too.
