Treated that kid with all the respect he deserves.
That was every kind of awesome.
View from the moron's perspective:
Yea, I enjoyed watching that. But do you really want to be known as a team/school/coaching staff that kicks the living crap out of your fan base when they get out of hand or have a little too much fun?
Yes. Yes I do. That's entertainment in my book.
Who wouldn't pay extra to see that?
Instantly thought of this.

Sounded to me like the live crowd enjoyed it as well.
Nobody likes the idiot fans. Not even the home team.
LMAO!!! Watched that over and over. But I am one of the few old guys here that also reveled in Mike Curtis "restoring order" in 1971, when a fan tried to run off with the game ball (link below). Pretty well known for anyone my age. Young history buffs, take a look.

mike curtis
Sorry, still haven't mastered the youtube link.
Mike was normally quite genteel:
That's QB Roman Gabriel (below #18 with the ball - and head, eh, still attached more or less), surviving a guillotine by Mr. Curtis. I would venture to guess that this type of transgression would not only draw a flag these days, but may actually necessitate the skills of a powerful criminal defense attorney.
Nice hit, I'm looking forward to the day Sam Rogers is one of our coaches and makes a fan-crater in Lane if anyone is stupid enough to run on the field.
O/U on how long it takes for this kid to sue for assault or something ridiculous? 3 weeks?
UNDER!
horse collar, should have been flagged. /sarc
No /sarc needed. If he was playing in the league that'd be 15 yards, ejection, and a 25k fine. I expected him to square up more.
I think the Secret Service could use the coach's services.
Any reason the strength and conditioning coach has a playsheet chained to his belt?
EDIT: rewatched and it was not chained.
Wasn't me
To use your favorite GIF against you...
ESPN posted a follow up to this story.
Apparently the fan was a 4th year Eng. student that was a recipient of a scholarship for golf caddies (Judge Smails was hooking him up I guess), and had his scholarship pulled for this incident.
Which reminds me of the old adage, if you are gonna get bombed, sometimes just do it in the safety of your own home.
Ive sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didnt want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

aaaaand, he's losing his scholarship from the WGA
http://www.wgaesf.org/
Totally worth it...NOT!
I want to feel a little sorry for the kid, but I love to see it when a punishment is given that will act as a clear deterrent to more ass-hattery.
At least you take most scholarship students out of the pool of stupid stunts..
Did anyone else know you could get a scholarship as a golf caddie???
yeah where was that when I was in school.
So basically he was aspiring to be this...
"Mr. Gilmore I'm you're caddy!"
LMAO! Nice one.
He's also being charged with a misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge. So..
Get has handed to you on National TV? check
Lose ridiculously specific scholarship for carrying a bag? check
Get charged with a crime? Check
If arrested, violate school code of conduct and perhaps be thrown out of school in your Senior year having to transfer and pay for more school somewhere else minus scholarship for carrying a bag? pending...
i'm sure his parents are really happy. But he was getting an engineering degree at anOSU, not VT, so it's not like he was very smart to begin with.
Seems I remember most schools require you to attend for 2 years before they will let you get their degree.
I read he was in his 4th year. Is that wrong?
That's what I understand as well.
If you try to transfer to most other 4 year Universities though, they require 2 year of attendance to complete the degree, regardless of how many credits you already have.
Nailed It!
