As seen here on CBS Sports, Auburn now has a gatling gun t-shirt launcher. How have we not come up with something like this? Instead, we rely on our Cheerleaders to toss shirts into the stands, often not making it past the 5th row, sometimes not even to the 1st row above the walls near the goal line. Someone at VT needs to make this for both Basketball and Football games.

the sheer size of this video makes it all the more impressive
My fault. Copied the embed code from Youtube and didn't even look at the size to see that it was set at 1280x720. +1 for you
I was at a Georgetown basketball game in DC last year and they have the same thing! I instantly thought "that thing if flipping awesome! VT is an engineering school. Why don't we have one yet!?"
We had one. It was overpowered and launched t-shirts into orbit. So they were asked to tone it down a bit, to which the engineering team responsible said, "What school do you think this is?"
I thought the extended version of the story was that upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere, the t-shirt knocked Cavman off of his horse again. I, too, wonder why we just didn't keep the first version, as it met and exceeded the objectives of said launcher.
The engineering team involved makes no claim for Cavman falling off his horse, because it's much better that he fall off for no reason. The MIMO team made sure to wipe all memories of the Hokie T-shirt involved from Cavman and the bystanders.
Sorry, no pictures of any MIMO (Men in Maroon and Orange) team available as to not verify their existence.
Right, it was launched into orbit, so we recruited Bucky to reach up and get it for us.
I see the T-shirt gun idea, and now all I can think of is this:
poor Maude Flanders... OT to the OT, they mentioned her on the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover episode last night
And Muriel Goldman. I just watched it on DVR.
What is that thing in the seat in front of her?
Homer bending over to pick up something, if my memory serves me well.
We not should settle for 19th century projectile technology.
They're working with Drones all over campus. We need a drone that drops/fires tee shirts on the masses in Lane Stadium. Of course this should have a real time gunsight video so the crowd could "aim" at deserving attendees.
I think the FAA might not go for this...
But that thing is bad-a$$! We should resurrect the old one someone said we made above and get it tweaked for in stadium use and cut it loose. That is very cool!
It should be easy enough to tone it down at the operator position by doing experiments and metering the CO2 pressure.
Exactly, shouldn't be too hard.
Damn straight!! one-up those toothless 2nd-fiddle in their own state most-common-team-named kitty cats!! A VT drone dropping T-shirts on the East stands while Outcast's B.O.B. (Bombs over Baghdad) plays from the monster video board! SEC what?
If it could reach the top of the stadium we would sell out every game. Also, don't shoot it until the end of the game.
Well you never want to shoot prematurely.
Our cheerleaders throw shirts into the crowd? Guess I'm too poor to have experienced that.
I usually only see it in the North Endzone and they really only hit the sections that are in East and West Stands between the goal line and endzone.
Not their shirts, dude. Football games are a family experience.
And...we are getting a t-shirt gun...powered by a horse on a treadmill.
Firstly, 08hokies10 is a lady rather than a dude. Secondly... huh?
They had one of those things at the ACC Tournament, and it was powerful.
VCU uses a lighter than air vehicle to drop items into the crowd. Why can't Tech have a horse on a treadmill powered t shirt launcher.
We should start using drone helicopters to fly them into the crowd while we're at it!!
Do we need to clear that with the FAA first?
We are getting launchers for basketball, not sure why they haven't tried it out at football games.
