I have an inside source with the team (#SOURCES) that Josh Stanford plans to return after the bye week and play against Pitt. I don't know how much playing time he'll get after a leave of absence, but it'll be good to get some of the leadership back on the team.
EDIT: Wanted to clarify that he wanted to practice during the bye week and Pitt week so that he can play against Pitt.

Awesome if true, hope he's had enough time to get everything in his life back on track.
Glad to hear he know has things under control enough to get back to the team. I think the WR corp has missed his leadership and production.
Meh...from what I've heard, not necessarily a good thing
What have you heard?
How could this be negative news?
What reports have you been reading? None of them specify anything other than the fact he took an indefinite leave of absence
C'mon dudes... Just another non-offensive, non-racial, non-sexual orientation, non-political opinion from the interwebz.
Down votes here are not warranted.
Not a down-voter, although I'm tempted. TKP frowns on disparaging players based on rumor.
In fact, Joe has specifically reprimanded and deleted previous posts for just that.
Especially with no further reason or background as to why the negative comment.
People take downvotes a little too seriously though.
Josh has had some issues that need to be corrected character wise, I know for a fact there was an incident during freshmen move in. But you can down vote me if you wish.
Who is perfect?
I'm sure as &@:?/-) not.
No need to bring it up here, we all know we have flaws, that doesn't mean it's ok to gossip where the entire world can know and embarrass you with them.
Im just stating facts as i know many probably witnessed the event in which i refer to. So you can say its gossip, but in actuality its the truth. And if he can't handle the truth as an adult, there are bigger issues.
The point is that if there was an issue and it was as public as you say it is, the coaches surely know about it and have likely addressed it. One incident does not indicate a character issue.
Gossip doesn't imply a lack of a true event, it's the telling of it that makes it gossip. Celebrating that one has performed something to celebrate is one thing.
Telling an event which is not a proud one but which is local and localized and an old event- turning it into one which is global and a rehash and new again is not nice.
1) I'd be extremely shocked if Josh Stanford had character issues, of all people on the team.
2) If he's back, that means he's straightened out whatever he had going on, which is always a positive.
3) He's about to catch more passes for Virginia Tech football
I know of the same incident from a very reliable source - one that would stand up under oath.
Josh brings a lot on the field through his skills, knowledge of the O and experience. I am chalking some of this up to personal issues and lack of maturity and hope that his time away will help him to get it together and reach his full potential both on and off the field.
I think you are missing the point.
Yes, Josh, yes! Absolutely love that kid. YOSHI THE POET IS FREAKING BACK!!!!
Also, The Poet and The Maestro have a few songs in the works but I don't know when they'll be released.
Who is the Maestro? Gotta check him out. Know about Tone and Tariq "Truth" Edwards, never heard of Maestro
this guy, surely
The trick is not to put your pants on until right before you go onstage. That way you keep the crease perfect for the performance.
and don't use your conductor's baton as a pool cue
The Maestro is Yoshi The Poet's producer, current Hokie, and my brother. He's made the beats for Prayer, That's On Me, Protein and Taking Off. He also made an appearance on WDBJ7 when they did a story on Josh's music (http://www.wdbj7.com/sports/josh-stanfords-music-on-and-off-the-field/23...)
You can follow him on Twitter @clermont703 and @maest2o.
Thanks man. Really love both his lyrics and his sound. Not lying when I say I've been bumping that nonstop for like 2 weeks now. I had heard Hollow Things forever ago just because Logan Thomas retweeted it or something, but found all of Yoshi's stuff on his SoundCloud recently. I am a strong believer and it sounds like Josh is, too. Tell your brother to keep em coming!
MOAR #SOARCES
the other news that would make this one better is if we also get the other Josh from Oscar smith . a team can never have too many Joshes.
Looking forward to Josh Fuller, long lost cousin of the The Fullers, to make his surprise appearance.
Actually, Mama and Mr. Fuller recently decided to change their mind and have one last child. Identical triplet boys are expected in mid-May.
class of 2032 gon be sick
Naw man you're behind on your news cycle. The three embryos all split into threes. Then one of those split again into three. Meaning eleven kids. Meaning...
AN ALL-FULLER DEFENSE.
God help poor Mama Fuller.
God help opposing offenses.
He only helps the roster and team
Great vid.
Even though Stanford ultimately didn't need it, Trey Edmunds almost had a monster block that would have taken out the two defenders that almost got Stanford right after the catch.
Then the mailman got one in at the end.
I love downfield blocks. It's like putting on your favorite old jacket you haven't worn in a while because it's been too warm, and then finding money in the pockets.
EDIT: Post was a rumor, and didn't mean any disrespect towards Josh.
Wish him the best of luck!
I gave you a leg for having a Vince Hall avatar.
This might be true, but his perceived poor attitude might have been the product of personal issues he was dealing with. If he felt he needed a leave of absence to deal with things/clear his head/exercise his demons/find his center/flush his pipes, more power to him. Sometimes a man just has to piss into the wind. If he's dotted his ps and qs, I say welcome back.
Ha, thought this was a Terrible Metaphor Guy post for a second
We shouldn't be promulgating rumors on this forum, even when we call them out as rumors.
Can you modify your post and not promote rumors about a fellow Hokie, please.
'Promulgating'

Andy Griffith will get a leg every time...
I figured he took some time off to release his most recent music. I wonder if there was some timing with the ECU game being rough and a potential music opportunity coming up. I didn't think it was coincidence that his song dropped (poor choice of words?) while he was on leave.
Was that supposed to be a joke? Seems a little disrespectful sir
A lot of jokes are rooted in disrespect, that's what makes them funny a lot of times.
If the #sources are accurate, I'm glad to have him back. I don't care at all about why he was away from the team. I don't care if it was attitude or if he missed being on the phone with grandma instead of going to practice, if he's coming back, that is a good thing for us. It means he's made things right with Beamer (Captain Second Chance) and probably Moorehead. That's good enough for me. College is rough at times, and many of us forget that. Being on the football team makes it even more difficult. Kyshoen Jarrett was suspended for the first quarter of the WMU game, and no one was throwing out speculation as to why, nor should they, because we know he is a fine young man, as evidenced by the story about his family. Corey Marshall left the team for a year to get whatever it was he needed together, and we are happy to have him back. Stuff happens. As long as Josh isn't in trouble with the law or anything, he has my 100% support and I would be thrilled to see him back on the field.
JR Collins also left the team for a decent amount of time last year, yes?
I believe he was suspended for a game.
I don't know any of the specifics but he is not in trouble with the law.
I don't know anything about his life or what he's going through, but I trust Beamer's and Moorehead's judgement, so if they are welcoming him back, I certainly am as well. I hope Josh has everything sorted out and he can make the impact he's capable of when he returns. Love watching that dude play football.
I'm a big Stanford fan, but are we sure he is better than Ford and Cam are right now?
Edit: I mean in terms of on the field production, not leadership, mentorship, moral, or just being with the team. I want him back because he is a good teammate and representative of the university, along with being a talented player.
His leadership on the team can't be understated. Even Moorehead admitted that not having him out there led to some miscommunication and likely some of the substitution infractions.
He doesn't have to be better than either one to get playing time... Byrn is tied for the team lead in receptions and he doesn't start
I agree with the other two guys: he doesn't need to be better than anyone else, it's just nice to see him back with the team. He's got more experience than Phillips and Ford, so even if he plays the mentor role the rest of the season, it is still good news to have him back. I just wish Brewer looked for him and Bucky more often. Especially Bucky, he's got NFL written all over him
If you ask me, Brewer looks to Bucky TOO often. That's what led to his 3rd interception against GT, trying to force the ball to Bucky. Teams are starting to catch on to Bucky's abilities, but Brewer needs to let him exploit the mismatch and not force it to him because he's big. That's what made Ebron effective at UNC which is exactly what we are trying to do with Bucky.
Bucky was without a doubt not open on the last interception in the GT game. I don't care if it's Jerry Rice, you don't throw that ball into double coverage with the game tied on 1st and 10 from your own 15 yd line. So yeah, I can't really argue with that one. But there have been a few goal line opportunities missed where you could have just lofted one up there for Bucky and he would've come down with it. But hey, the guy is only a redshirt freshman and he's already playing like a 5th-yr senior so he's got plenty of time to get his. I just think he is such a mismatch week in and week out, we can't afford not to exploit the defense when he's in single coverage with a 5'10 defensive back.
Bottom line: "Gods Gift" is God's gift to our football program so don't take him for granted
boom exactly the reason he threw that 3rd pick. The underneath db floated deeper why... because its a smart/great play keep everything in front of you. On the flip side if the db knows he has deep help he can jump the short route and pick 6 all day. But I do believe the GT defenders were/are well aware of Bucky so the main focus was stopping him when he was in routes.
Don't know if anyone else saw this but I though it was awesome. 2 Freshman on their off day running route/jamming each other just to get better.
This is awesome... wish some of the younger dbs would get out there too...
I think Ford and Phillips are roommates, too if I'm not mistaken.
Showed my girlfriend the picture and she said "Maybe Brewer should be out there too."
Just gonna come out and say it: not sure if your username is a play on words with something to do with Tyrod or you work for a cell phone company who pays you the big bucks to promote their product on every site...
Tyrod play on words. I wish I was getting paid for commenting haha.
You'll get Turkey legs and you'll like it!
Yeah. On our most successful drives against anOSU, brewer hit 5-6 different receivers. Totally kept the defense guessing.
We need some depth. Ford, Phillips and Byrn are logging a lot of minutes. There must be a reason why Knowles isn't on the field much, Parker hardly at all and Newsome only to run end arounds.
We need another WR that Moorehead can trust. That's Stanford.
Talked with a veteran player Saturday. I specifically asked about Stanford. He pretty much confirmed with what you have said.
At the end of the day it all boils down to...

wonder who they're talking about???!!!!!!!!!
Not to speculate or anything but possibly big man Frederick Johnson?
Nailed it.
Beat me by a matter of seconds. Well played, bagman. Clearly your insider info has given you an advantage.
Correct!
Andy Bitter has confirmed. In Bitter we trust.
Awesome!
You think Mike Gentry is excited for these two?
There is no doubt. This is the beginning of a very special time in Blacksburg. I always thought that once I graduated I would feel distant from the players, but I think it is a closer experience now. I remember how I was as a freshman and how I felt I developed over my four years at the greatest institute in the land. I can see the Freshman and Sophomores now being great role models to the new batch of Hokies coming in. Although the season may not be moving along perfectly, the direction of Virginia Tech Football is without a doubt on the right course.
