This is pretty cool - The Upshot has made an interactive College Football Fan Map by county that will break down the fans of certain teams by using data from Facebook.
Click on the interactive map, zoom in and you can hover anywhere to find county and even zip code data of the break down of the teams that people like.
Just a note: In we have 16.7% Hokie Fans Albemarle County, VA, and even higher (20%'s) in the city zip codes!

I do enjoy that even in the hooville area, we are above like 12% everywhere, whereas around blacksburg, the hoos are like 5-6%.
I don't think we're below 20% in any of the blue in VA
Supposedly basically the entire state of NC is one big Duke fanbase according to this thing and not one single county has more UNC fans than any other.
I don't buy it at all.
You're right - even on zip code level IN CHAPEL HILL, Duke is the top team. Strange.
1) Gotta have enough money to have a computer to regularly update a Facebook page.
2) Gotta not be embarrassed to be a fan to put it on your Facebook page.
Ok, thats great... and I could totally buy it if NC State or ECU dominated the state.... but Duke?

Darn proud of ya, Henrico. Because my neighborhood and street are pretty much 50/50 between us and that other school. WAHOOHA!
It said it was based off of Facebook data. I also noticed that there was a lot of "Ohio State" fans in the Tidewater area and other parts of VA. I wonder if their program was able to distinguish between comments for a school or comments discussing whooping the ass off a school?
