VT defense didn't play great

At least that's what Fedora believes....

"I'd love to tell you that Virginia Tech is a great defense and did something spectacular, but it was whatever we could do wrong, whatever could go wrong for us offensively, went wrong the entire first half," Fedora said.

U mad bro?

We are the Hokies. We will prevail. We will prevail. We will prevail. We are Virginia Tech.

f**k you, fedora.

Always knew this guy was a jackass. This is the same guy that said Southern Miss should be in a BCS bowl after beating Houston (his last year as the Southern Miss coach), even though they already had one loss that season.

Got Sour GRAPES, Fedora? Good!

Fedora is a bag of douches

Best duos in Hokie history: Hall & Adibi, 3rd & Tyrod, Georgia & Liz

Epic signature. Leg just for that alone

Leg for pointing out that epic sig, would've missed it!

Scoreboard, Fedora.

SCOOOOOREEEEEBOOOOOOARRRRRD

What Bud Foster said to Fedora:

.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

This will probably be the last time we face a team coached by him, so it's all good.

"I liked you guys a lot better when everybody told you you were terrible." -Justin Fuente

Like when Dadi and Ekanem said, "Let's meet at the QB" and caused that fumble..... That was just bad luck right?! VT defense had nothing to do with it! Go eat a Ram Fedora!

Fedora is such a D baggg. You're just salty that we came into your house and beat ya'll up. If anything he screwed the game up having his 2nd QB throw a pick 6 to FULLER!!!!!!!

Go eat a bag of turd nuggets

I was really upset when I saw the headline. Then I read it and realized it was just a loser coach being tom petty

West Virginian by birth, Hokie by choice

This coming from the same coach that likes rotating in a QB the third series of every game.

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Dear Mr. Fedora

You infer that this defense was not that good against you, today. May I point out that the streak of white that ran by you on the way to the end zone after picking off your freshman quarterback is only a sophomore, and the beast of a man that forced a fumble and made a well balanced lunch out of your other quarterback is a redshirt freshman? I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that you were held to 125 yards below your average, despite having three drives start either at the 50 or on the positive side of the field. The nine drives we held you to less than 10 yards may also require your attention.

In short. Go on believing this defense isn't good. Bud likes a good roasted Fedora

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

That reminds me of the Roanoke Times cartoon of the Hokie on a steam roller rolling over the Hoo for a TD and the Hoo is holding a sign saying I am still unimpressed.

This is great. What's the background and context to this cartoon?

Feels like post-38-0 bro.

What isn't the background and context to this cartoon

Wondering the published date and why the artist drew it. Was there something specifically said by UVA coach or player? Was it right after a specific game? - Seems like it would be a good story.

Looks like (c) 1999 in the corner of the cartoon, which makes sense. I've seen it before, just don't remember where. Probably here.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

Yeah, it was during the 1999 season. The Hokies were ranked #8 going into the game and LOLUVA was #24. Some of the LOLUVA football players said prior to the game that they weren't impressed with the Hokies thus far, and one even said that VT was a "big fish in a small pond," referring to the Big East. The Hokies won the game 31-7, and this cartoon remains of my favorites.

We sure do win a lot of games 31 to 7...a couple of Miami games come to mind.

“These people are losing their minds. This is beautiful.”

You're forgetting the classic Corey Moore quote, "Look at that scoreboard, that's a woodshed." Also I believe the small pond quote came from Mike Groh did it not?

Whoever gives this one the 38th leg, let's just all agree to leave it that way.

I legged it, and then said "Bro" out loud

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Im glad I already legged it, otherwise I'd be going through some serious inner turmoil on whether to leg or not to leg

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

38-0! Still unimpressed?

Bulletin board material for 2015. Some coaches never learn.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

And they come to the Terror Dome next year.

Wow, what an opposite reaction from two very different coaches. If Beamer were in Fedora's place, he would have said something along the lines of "give that defense credit, they played their butts off and made us look silly." He even called them a "very good team" at halftime when we were already up 3 touchdowns. Glad we got the good guy in this situation. Totally classless, asinine comment from a struggling head coach. 9 of 11, Larry. 9 of 11.

The back seven are really struggling this year at tackling in the open field. Far too many arm tackles yesterday!

I thought they actually tackled pretty darn well, considering the level of talent on the other side of the ball. Those were some big, fast guys (with one little, fast guy) running around out there, and for the most part Tech did a very good job limiting big plays and lots of YAC.

^^This.

uncs recievers looked double the size of our DBs for the most part. no one played perfect but I thought they held the unc offense in check well. Riley's hit on Switzer was awesome too

tyrod did it mikey! tyrod did it!

I'm getting happier and happier with Riley as the season goes along. He still has some struggles (that last TD pass was just painful...), but he's coming along and playing some physical football. That hit and the sack he had were great. Here's to hoping he can keep working on perfecting and trusting his technique and finish the season strong.

Ive been calling for him to get more playing time for awhile now. I was kinda hoping heading into the season riley would be kendalls backup and in nickel coverage he would come in and slide Kendall into the slot(feel like we get beat in the middle of the field a bit too much on passing distance downs). That Ohio state pick 6 was awesome and I look forward to seeing him develop over his last year and a half (junior correct?)

That came out of left field. That's the one area I haven't heard anyone complain about from yesterday's game. You should feel honored

Hes a perfect fit for that school. Sour grapes and a visor wearing southern tool.

Fedora needs his ass fully dipped in some hot dork magic...the old Irish way! Bud is just the man to do it.

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

If Fedora simply ran Williams more, they'd have done a lot better yesterday. Fedora wants to spread things around rather than leverage what works.

Reality has a mighty pimp hand.

It seemed to me that forcing Williams to carry the entire load was exactly what Bud Foster wanted. It would be (and was) moderately effective between the 20s, but would limit big scoring plays - with Williams taking a lot of hits and getting worn down late in the game.

Fedora must have the same PR Coach as Brady Hoke. What a douche.

Go Hokies!

Perfect match for a "public Ivy" school. They are clearly far to superior to lose to a blue collar school. *raises pinky* We didn't beat them, they beat themselves.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Nailed it.

Fun fact... no one has ever beaten unc. Either they were so bad they lost the game to you less bad team or the refs gave it to you. Or if that logic fails your team is full of individuals of poor character.

Ha! Go through the game thread on rivals. They bring up the usual pro-vt ref argument about 50 times

If a defense that didnt play great held the highest scoring offense in the ACC to 17 points, then I cant wait for that defense to put it all together.
