Stanton goes down, Thomas comes in. Lets see how he does in his first ever real NFL action.

Hand off. Sack. Sack.
Not the greatest start but it's a hard position to succeed in.

We'll jump so hard we'll break the bleachers.

He's been put in a tough spot. Definitely pulling for him!!!

Mike Vick is also starting the 2nd half, just got the notification from Bleacher Report FYI. I have FiOS and of course I only get the field goal fest going on in the SF/KC game...

That's not a FiOS issue. It's an NFL issue for only letting one network have a doubleheader each week.

I don't get NFL Network, so if there's a game on there I wouldn't know

Sunday afternoon games are only on CBS or Fox.

I don't get that game. Please keep the updates coming.

Second Drive:
First play: Incomplete pass in the flat to the RB
Second Play: Hand off for 2 yds
Third Play: Incomplete Pass. Outside blitz came and Logan had to throw it early. Larry Fitz wasn't even looking for the ball.

Leg. Thanks. Damn.

Just threw an 81 yard touchdown!

I am a proud hokie to be able to say I saw Logan Thomas' first ever NFL touchdown pass.

Thomas threads the needle on a wheel route to Ellington for a 70+ yd TD!!

Wow...snuck a bullet into Andre Ellington! I was hoping his first would be to Fitzgerald, but still cool to see.

Logan helping out the fantasy team too! Glad I got Ellington in two leagues

I would have loved to see what logan could have done with our team this year

that is a sensational catch. thrown into double coverage, with a 3rd coverage man nearby, and somehow none of them actually touch Ellington.

When passes are thrown at Mach 1, it's hard to break them up

The Broncos need to work on signing more Hokies.

Live for 32. Ut Prosim. Let's Go, Hokies.

Yeah...I suppose this VT-Clemson hook-up was acceptable.

Love it!, but that should have been a 12 yd gain. Tackling dot com

So happy for Logan. Hope that was the first of many.

Not the bagman VT deserves, but the bagman VT needs right now.

Good gosh Ginn.

8 drops for Arizona receivers today. That was the first on a ball thrown by LT6.

8 drops for Arizona today. My goodness, what's gonna happen when Logan has receivers that can catch his passes?

Is he playing with Hokie WR's again? Drops drops drops....

I sure do miss the velocity Logan throws with...

I know it's against guidlines but, lol.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Are there any other schools that have three QB's currently in the NFL? It blows my mind. Especially considering...

NCSt? Rivers, Glenon, and can we count Wilson?

I cheated & asked the Internet Machine. Michigan State currently has 4. LT replaced one of them. Arizona's Drew Stanton, Cleveland's Brian Hoyer, Washington's Kirk Cousins and Philadelphia's Nick Foles --

Foles is from Arizona....

He started at Mich State and transferred.

It was all over the Eagles/Redskins game.

Leg for the correction.

So what? He was at Michigan State for a cup of coffee. No one would call Troy Aikman an Oklahoma QB or Jeff Hostetler a Penn State QB, so why would Foles be a Michigan State QB?

Here's a list... Answer:

Michigan State has 3
USC has 4

Best duos in Hokie history: Hall & Adibi, 3rd & Tyrod, Georgia & Liz

Logan's QB rating currently is 108.9

On point Joe!! Was just about to try and Youtube that since i sadly missed it live.

In the spirit of the "let's fellate Peyton Manning all week" festival, I present to you The Logan Thomas Countdown To 500:

Err, 499.

It's a start, though.

Even in a loss to Denver, Logan Thomas's critics must be eating crow after that TD pass!

Are we going to start this again?

That pass was awesome. It was also his only completion in the entire game. There were a lot of drops, but they weren't from nobodies, he's got talent around him with Fitz, Floyd, and Ellington.

It's literally the same thing he did the last two years here, the only thing that has changed is the uniform.

I wish him nothing but success in the NFL, it would be good for our school. But pretending like the literal single pass he completed today proves anything, let alone proves anyone wrong is silly.

that's where you're wrong Duffman. Logan is a shoe-in for the HOF at this point.

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

I agree with you in spirit, but some points:
One key drop was by Ginn on what would have been a nice 3rd and 3 conversion, but it went right through his hands (maybe thrown too hard, but it was on time and on target. That route should've been for Fitzgerald, Ginn is not a good wide receiver)

The Arizona offensive line looked completely overmatched by the time Logan got in the game. He could've maybe done a better job stepping up in the pocket rather than trying to escape, but that's a common mistake for a young qb.

More in line with what you were saying, he threw a patented Logan Thomas fastball on a screen route for a drop(?). He also didn't look in sync with the receivers on almost every play, which is either a poor grasp of the offense or being third string for most of the year.
If he has to start the next game, I expect he and Arians will have a better idea of which plays he's comfortable running. I'd normally preach caution here, but the Cards host the Redskins next week. Ray Charles could throw for 300 on that secondary

I agree. That ginn drop took away any possible momentum that would have built. Gotta help your young quarterback out and make that play. Looked like Arizona already accepted the loss after that point.

So can Logan TDs count towards our FAINTS?

I know the word "touchdown" doesn't appear in that anywhere, but still.

When youre a third string you dont practice with first string offense. That explains the drops by the first string receivers because they are not used to hot balls. To have an 81 TD pass against a tough Denver defense is a step in the right direction. If he gets a week of practice with first string O-line and better preparation, LT will be better for sure. The coaching staff will get him ready.

Allen Ox

That doesn't really explain the drops, he's been getting 2nd string reps for several weeks now. There's no excuse for drops; NFL receivers are paid to catch the ball. Period.

They weren't having problems with Drops before, were they?

That's my point. When he was here there were a lot of drops, people said "you can't drop that, pro WRs won't drop that." Now he has Pro WRs...good ones, and they're still dropping it. What's the common factor here?

Logan is blessed with a cannon for an arm. There are certain times you use a cannon and certain times you don't. Hopefully over time he will learn to discern between the two. If he doesn't he won't be long for the league.

I was hyped to see Logan's highlights. Then I looked at the stats and realized he was 1 of 8 for 81 yards. So I guess I was hyped to see Logan's highlight. But it was mostly Ellington's highlight. And the guy that was blocking.

So yeah go Logan!

Total QBR of 108.9. #futurehalloffamer

To be fair, there is a guy in the other team's organization that could explain how often receivers are allowed to drop hard thrown passes.
