The AP and coaches poll came out today and the undefeated Hokies are not ranked in either. Tech only received 38 total points in the Coaches Poll and Oklahoma State, the team we just soundly beat even with the majority of the calls going their way, are still ranked 23rd in the AP and 22nd in the Coaches. I'm simply dumbstruck how we didn't crack the top 25

yes, we are doing amazingly well. but its still very early in the season and there are still some questions on our team that gotta be addressed. however if we get 1 or 2 more wins this week that will push us over the top 25 mountain. have patience :P. we'll get there

With not being ranked and even with Ok. State being ranked ahead of us. What bothers me is NC State is still in front of us.
They're a team in our own conference who has lost 2 games to our zero and they were beat by 20 by a team we beat by 10.
Either way, the rankings mean absolutely nothing right now. As long as we keep playing well then that will all take care of itself. Let's remember that most of us thought this team would have 3+ losses at this point in the season.
The fact that we're talking about barely missing be ranked is a minor miracle. Just be happy with this team for what it is and enjoy the ride. Keep expectations low and enjoy the surprises as they happen.
Agreed. If NC State is one of the supposed "Powers of the ACC" this season, I think we could end up finishing in the top 5 in conference play and maybe make some noise in the ACC Tournament.
When was the last team we were ranked?
7-0 looks damn good for us BUT it is under a new coach with a new identity IN December. I'm not surprised that even after wins against Iowa and a sliding OK State team that we are not. We all know when it really matters so let's hope we can play well against the lesser competition as well as grab marquee wins while we can. Keep beating more teams like this and come out of the ACC slate well enough and we may actually dance this year.

I'd rather not be ranked at this point in the season. Play out this underdog role as long as we can. Rank carries no meaning this early, and I think even if we win our next four and go into BYU ranked in the low 20s that's a good thing. Plus, we don't want any national attention getting into the players' heads. JJ will keep that to a minimum, but still.
