Even though Calvin Johnson was pre-Paul Johnson, it is amazing that 2 of the top 5 WR's in the NFL now are from GT
And both of them smoked us pretty handily. Of course, that was before they ran the ball with fervor.
The ACC is pretty dominant there overall, considering the other 3 top 5 receivers are from VT: Royal, Fuller, and Boykin
That's the thing, Thomas was also brought in by Gailey. GT used to get a lot of talent before Johnson, and could again once he's gone.
Paul Johnson is the one who farted and he needs to not blame the smell on someone else.

Really wish we could put him out of our misery and consistently pound them by 42. Regardless of their 4-0 status at this point, GT is a terminally mediocre program under CPJ that only serves to take extra preparation time away from Bud Foster and endanger the long term careers of d-linemen. They'll never beat UGA more than once a decade and I don't see them ever being a top-10 team, ever. They're a nuisance, much like their mascot.
Pass out the popcorn for Hokie fans. This jawing back-n-forth is gonna make this game good this weekend.
We all need to root for Duke. I hope Cutcliffe can take GT to the woodshed. I was at the GT game and yes, we beat ourselves, but GT always creates match up issues for us and it showed.
GT is undefeated, we have 2 losses. I hate to say that, but sometimes reality sucks.
I hate CPJ as much as anybody, but all he was really saying here was, "Yeah, sure, whatever...6-0 Bro."

I don't know how GT fans aren't constantly calling for PJ to be gone. (maybe they are I don't check) But regardless if they randomly win a few games in the division that offense is never going to get them into national prominance. They will never be a top 10 team with it. They will never win a national championship with it.
But they won the 1990 natty, so the pressure isn't there to win anymore, obviously.

I'm pretty sure I spent the entire GT game this year laughing and then rewinding every time Paul Johnson cursed at someone. I guess they got the last laugh that game though...
I watched the GT game with one of my sons this year (and was careful not to curse myself)....
but as I sat there watching PJ go off on player after player in a game GT won, I thought there is no way I would send my kid to play fro PJ.
Well played by Cutcliffe. I can understand why Johnson was pissed. It's hard enough to recruit players for that system; he doesn't need Cutcliffe reminding recruits while pretending to be sympathetic.
Johnson's still a tool though.
Cutcliffe has an extremely valid point here, and a level of class about 100 times that of cpj.
