Six Pick: Week Eight

The words for week 8 are:

parity:
the state or condition of being equal

great:
remarkable; exceptionally outstanding

In sports having the former means not having the latter. Parity also leads to picking whether it's straight up or ATS to being a tirefire. It makes for great drama, but there's something to be said to looking at something and being awed. Close games between flawed good teams, while fun, don't awe me. I want a great team. Yes, you can #getoffmylawn any time you please.


Parity isn't going to make it easy for these people ... that's actually great.

Week 8 Games

Saturday, October 18th

Kansas State at Oklahoma -7.5
12:00 pm ESPN

  • I know it's a wacky season and these play a conference round robin, but this is a conference championship and playoff elimination game for one team
  • You know how hot VT fans would be if they played another ranked team as a nooner? This timeslot is dumber than being from Bessemer, Alabama

Pick: KSU getting the points, totally playing the slow to get going nooner coupled with the KSU style of play to make it a close game.

3:30 pm CBS

The College Football Odd Couple

  • Hot Take One: Bama's dynasty era is over, it ended last season, this year is just confirming it
  • Hot Take Two: aTm will never win or even play for a national championship as long as they run the Air Raid. The defense will never be good enough to get out the SEC West

Pick: aTm getting the points, putting pressure all over the Bama secondary, while being run over on D. I forsee a bunch of points.

4:00 pm FS1

  • F you Gary Patterson, not because TCU lost to Baylor, but you've gone away from good defense for offense. Now with QB Trevone Boykin out over a month, whatcha got now?
  • This is a good spot for the Pokes to sneak in for a win, TCU is coming off a roller coaster two week session of HUGE games ... let down and getting beat twice by Baylor sammich?

Pick: Okie State getting the points, TCU has to be drained ... right?

This game was a classic!

  • The Fulmer Cup sponsored by Jameis Winston has a nice ring to it, ya know
  • Another controls their own destiny elimination game. They'll know it, we'll know it ... this will feel big

Pick: FSU laying the points, shutting down the ND offense and passing all over the Irish.

  • FS1 kicking off at the same time as ND at FSU and not a hour earlier to at least try and grab some earlier viewers, "That's a Bold Strategy Cotton"
  • I want Chris Peterson and UDub to do well, but if they get drubbed, the Huskies are off the 6 Pick for the rest of the season

Pick: UDub getting the points, but that's a great line and could see them getting smashed too.

This will certainly curb student drinking

  • I admit, I enjoy these type of games ... a battle of wills, styles and pace. As always #teamMANBALL
  • Both of these teams have a brutal schedule ahead. I can see both having at least 4+ losses

Pick: Stanford winning by a touchdown, the Tree's #teamMANBALL and their secondary will confound the Sun Devils.

Texas A&M +10.5 I don't think the Tide will be that high this weekend. They just can't post points like they used to. I blame it 110% on Kiffin!

Notre Dame +11.5 First one to 45 wins!!!!
Oregon -21.5 That's a lot of points...but Marcus is ready.
Arizona State +3.5 is a straight up win. Forks up!

There's a good chance we'll get some crabs for Saturday. They are great this time of year, fat and sweet! If so, I figure I'll be able to find some of this to compliment, and probably on clearance...
