Offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler said it afterward: Techs not wired to win throwing it 45 times a game. Until that gets fixed, you might see more games like this.
Yet, left up to his own devices, he seems bent on throwing it 45 times per game...

Loeffler said last night that Pitt gave Virginia Tech a different look than what it was expecting and it took the Hokies time to adjust.
This leads me to a question that I've had for awhile and it stems from my not being a football guru like a lot of you are.
While watching the Hokies play, it seems obvious to me what the opponents defense tries to do... Blitz all night. I would assume the reasoning is we have no run game, and Brewer gets uncomfortable fast.
What can Loeffler Inc. do about this? I would think they can at least anticipate that, and come up with a counterplan. Bubble screens to Sam Rogers? Anyone? LIttle help?

haha we didn't adjust well from the look of it. We got a great 2 minute "Vanilla vick" scramble for your life throw the ball 6 times in a row and we scored!! none of that is an adjustment.. its athlete's making plays..
they got to play a 3 man front because they knew we wouldn't run the ball.. and if we did JC would run into a lineman and fall down/fumble it

Personally, I hate bubble screens more than any other play we run. I'd rather shove the ball up the gut with Coleman than run a bubble screen, if that tells you anything.
One of these days, Bucky is gonna throw a TD pass on that wildcat thing we run. Might not be this season, but I actually kinda like that play even when he runs. He's def not as quick as Logan, but they are similar in running styles

Well stated as usual, Andy!

Yea they were in a 3 man front and getting pressure. It was very confusing to all of us.
