Yes, they did a really nice segment on it. Far longer than I expected. They also gave SKipper a TON of attention. It was kind of odd, as the Bill Simmons ESPN show right before the game ended abruptly and it kicked right into the pregame, like a bad splicing job.
Anyway, they did a good bit of time on the entrance, especially on the walk through the tunnel for the players. They even showed Frank's office later, which appeared about the size of my house, ha! Seriously, it must be 600-800 sq ft. He's got a window view of the tunnel entrance. Back to the Enter Sandman, stuff - they muffled the noise, as they do now, but commented repeatedly about it. Palmer & Pollock were down in the end zone when the players came out. Lots of crowd shots of the bouncing, etc.
Anyway, I thought it was very complimentary. It went on for far longer than I expected, too.
EDIT - Sorry, but I don't have video.

Actually, as long as Weaver was in charge, it would end abruptly. That was through the end of last season. When Whit came in, he was youthful & engaged enough in contemporary sports culture to understand that the 65K fans bouncing in the stands enjoyed hearing a few seconds more of it.

Yeah, I figured it was Whit. I've only been to a couple of games a year since graduating in '12, so I didn't notice as much. I wasn't exactly sure when the change was made. Either way, me likie.

As do I. This might be heresy to some, but 'If I Were In Charge', the song would play through until all the players were onto the field, and for a little while past. There is more than enough time to cram the fight song in there afterwards. Give us more Sandman. Even the old people don't mind it. That's what Weaver, with his 1960's JoePa mentality, never understood. The school song will be played plenty during the game experience. There was never any need to cut 'Sandman' short to play it.

As someone who was part of the fight song after Sandman many times...I like the new style. Unless someone can come up with a metal version of Tech Triumph (which would be impossible for a college band to play anyway), the transition just doesn't work.

Anyone else notice the helicopter flying in circles the last two hrs before the game?
At one point it bowed to us. I just assumed it was ESPN. Anyone know?
Must have made 80 laps around my tailgate at the last house on Southgate.

We were across the street at the German Club. It was funny for a little, then it just got odd... I would have been dizzy as who knows what with that pattern.

Video?
Second
It was probably one of their better productions.
Paging BillDozer...if I remember correctly he records everything.

And that was the last time I smiled.
I like how they kept Sandman going for a little bit after running out...works a lot better than the fight song.
Yes! Several years ago it would end abruptly as soon as the team ran out. Letting it play a little longer and a simple fade out does wonders.

So we all agree?
Especially since on tv you could hear sandman and the when it cut to the band you couldn't hear anything. Glad they made a change. I like it.

It took off right after the game as I was walking back to the car. Guess it was a big time alumni who came in for the game.

I think it was Fedora trying to woo Dalton back to UNC.
