I'll take some joy in their loss (because reasons) but this year I think I'll hold my mocking until after Black Friday is over, at which point I hope I can.

Um, hate to say it, but wouldn't they make the same observation about TKP after Thursday night? How many "fire Loeffler" threads have there been in the last couple weeks?

This forum looking like the Sabre on Thursday doesn't diminish anything for me. I'm still going to laugh at a situation like today whether we're 0-8 or 8-0, the way I'm sure they did when we had our facepalm moments over the years and they were in the cellar. Wouldn't say this makes Thursday night, or GT/Pitt/ECU hurt suck any less, but it would suck more if UVA was running through the Coastal while we somehow get flagged on an off Saturday.
And, for the record, we're obviously on a course towards losing on Black Friday if both teams continue on like they are right now. But I'll cross that bridge when it comes.
But I guess Hokies Respect, or whatever.

My 9 year-old son after the UNC touchdown at the 4-minute mark...."I want to text (insert name of our friend who is a diehard Hoo here) and tell him he is going to be really sad in a few minutes". Me...."Son, after Thursday night, let's just not say anything."

You all keep referencing Thursday night.... All I did was have a few drinks with friends, jumped up and down to Enter Sandman (which was televised for some strange reason), watched the team warm up a bit, and then went home to wait for the bye week to pass. Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable football weekend.
Did I miss something?

Thursday night....that is an inside joke for those of us who accidentally showed up in Blacksburg a few days ago due to something we saw on the internet. Apparently, some of that stuff is made up after all.
I'm not sure why we have had so many bye weeks this year, maybe someone can look into that. Probably means we will have to play twice per week during November.

Misery loves company, and I was definately miserable Thursday night. This UVA loss takes a tiny amount of sting from our embarrassment, or at least doesn't add to it.

I have to say that I love seeing the French loose like that, and how some of those fools think that they have so much talent!!! really! they had their largest crowd today, still 20,000 shy of a sellout. LOL

We currently have the same overall record as UVA: 4-4.
Our Thursday night debacle notwithstanding, I'm gonna revel in the end of their game for the rest of the day. At least we had games sealed against us by actual plays...

Some people need to chill.... Yea, we suck, we have plenty of problems ourselves, but we can't laugh at a Rival that failed miserably themselves? And I hope London gets fired cause then UVA will suck more than they do now because they will not get the recruits they have been getting with London as the HC.

So? if they dont do anything with them... and historically we've done a lot with 2/3 star recruits (these past 3 season excluded). Its not like we were getting most of those top recruits anyways...they usually were going to Penn State or SEC schools...so its not like that hurts us

No, UVa will get a certain percentage of elite recruits because of who they are. Like it or not, they have academic prestige because they are an elite 'public Ivy'. Yeah, it irritates me to admit that, but admitting it makes it easier to understand why it happens. I'll also reference a quote that one 757 HS coach said to the media that struck a nerve with me - 'Parents don't enjoy having to drive 3 hours further up the road to see their son play ball'. Like it or not, it makes sense as ONE of the factors in recruitment. Combining some of these smaller factors can turn a recruit in their factor, even when anyone sensible would know that they'll go 7-5 every season at best.
Bottom line, UVa is always going to get certain recruits. They are only dangerous if they get a head coach who understands how to make those recruits win. London is not that guy, so I'd prefer he stayed for a while. Sooner or later the law of averages will say they luck into another good head coach. I'd prefer they wait as long as possible before rolling those dice on a replacement for London.

Most weeks I would laugh at that, but after being emabarassed on national tv and primetime, I didnt think we had to right to laugh at them for this week. At least they were in that position at that point of the game for that penalty to actually make a difference in the game

we know him as coach "fondue" mike london. His players know him as coach FML. Though they usually drop the coach part and say this with their heads in their hands...

I wouldn't make fun of UVA at the moment. There's a very good chance we lose to them if we come out the way we played against Pitt and Miami.
my rebuttal: making fun of uva football is timeless and never goes out of style

Is it ever to early to start hating on the Hooos?

Substitute Wahoos and Hokies that sounds like this place Thursday night.
Edit: I should read before I post.

flash mob, that's what it was
9 years old and texting? Dang, times have changed! I think I was learning cursive at that point.
I did laugh really hard at the illegal sub penalty. Mainly because I can only laugh to keep from crying at this point.
As much as we love to joke about "Who Farted" Frank, it's better than "Collapse Like a Bunch of Broccoli" TimeCop.
Misery loves company, and I was definately miserable Thursday night. This UVA loss takes a tiny amount of sting from our embarrassment, or at least doesn't add to it.
I would say their crying is even better.
We are an upset fan base because we are used to better than what we are currently getting.
UVA fans should be used to this by now.
"Mike, you're down 1 with a minute to go. You desperately need to stop a field goal to try to pull out a win. What do you do?"

I love Mike London, almost more than Al Groh. Sometimes i go to work with my sweatshirt tucked into my khakis in remembrance of Al.
Easy now...Harbaugh still rocks the tucked in sweatshirt and khaki combo.
Al Groh=fashion mogul

I haven't watched a second of football this weekend because I have the sads.
I usually attempt that as well after a horrible loss; however, I usually never make it pass 2:30PM.
An illegal substitution! God their coaching staff is horrible! That would never happen to a Beamer coached team. Oh wait....
I have to say that I love seeing the French loose like that, and how some of those fools think that they have so much talent!!! really! they had their largest crowd today, still 20,000 shy of a sellout. LOL

Fucking genius, shoog
no matter how low I get, no matter how bad our Hokies play, I will always take great joy in LOLUVA's struggles...
About 3/4's of the way down in the image:
I don't know you, VTStylez9, but you're doing God's work, son.
Good thing I read the comments. I was just about to post and call out Mr VTstylez9 for his excellent trolling

Never Fire London!!! BEST COACH IN THE ACC!!!!
He is the only reason they are getting top recruits. That's why I want him gone.
