FSU RB Karlos Williams Being Investigated For Alleged Domestic Battery

Rumors circulated on Friday that Karlos would be suspended for a violation of team rules, but the Athletic Dept of Florida St came down quickly on the reporters who were reporting it, basically telling them to cut it out or else. Then reports start coming out that the Tally PD has opened an investigation into an alleged domestic assault of Karlos' pregnant girlfriend, who has already given birth to one of his children. Once again, FSU denied.

Then this post from his gf's Facebook wall was found:

But, of course, that didn't stop Jimbo from being Jimbo.

"There's another false report, and that's amazing how things happen," Fisher said Friday. "Whoever has sources, whoever has rumors, needs to check who they are talking to because that is about as far from truth as there is."

UPDATE: Karlos is also being investigated for a June 23rd armed robbery stemming from a drug deal gone bad. As late as last week he is actively avoiding contact with the police, who are trying to interview him in connection with this other crime.

There is never a boring day at FSU. There is always something criminal going on.

The reason , many are now calling them the FSU Criminoles.

I first heard that one about 15 yrs ago...back in our Big East days. Sad to think there is some validity to it.

If it ain't orange, it better be maroon...and if it ain't maroon, it better be soon!

Yes, applied 15 yrs ago and still does .

At least back then it was stealing shoes or crap like that. I don't get what gets into these kids minds to do this. Especially with all the drama in the NFL about abuse towards women and such.

It's also sad that FSU is outright dening it. Not even a "Karlos has talked ot us about this and it's under investigation. As of now we have to take the word of our player and trust him. We will not take any actions until the investigation is complete or we have reason to not believe Karlos on this issue."

There that would satisfy it. We are innocent until proven guilty, so if he says he didn't do or whatever and there is an investigation then let the investigation play out. If you get evidence to the contrary and believe that Karlos is lying you have the ability to suspend or do whatever even if charges are not filed (due to the girl not pressing charges).

Unreal.

I'll take our current struggles any day over what they've got going on down in Tallahassee.

Yeah, no shame in Jumbo.

Maybe I'm not seeing all of Jimbo's comments, but I just don't understand how he can make those types of comments when the police are investigating one of his players. And to say that he is a "great ambassador", etc. If he wants to give his player the benefit of the doubt, that is fine. For instance, he could have said, "Karlos has been a great player and leader for this team, and I will be extremely disappointed in him if I learn this to be the truth." I mean, what is wrong with this guy. Regardless of whether Williams did this or not, Jimbo's comments, at least the ones I have seen, are just ridiculous.

In these situations, Jimbo should ask himself "What would CFB say?" CFB might be losing games, but he has always maintained the right perspective when it comes to the young men he coaches.

Jimbo makes those kind of comments because he does not care. He does not care if his players are unethical, immoral, or commit illegal acts. The only thing he cares about is if they win games for him. He cares about nothing but winning football games. If his players are criminals, it does not matter to him. Only winning matters. Developing character among his players is not a concern at all. He could not care less about their actions unless those actions produce a win for him. He is EXACTLY like Bobby Bowden in that way. Media people sucked up to Bowden because he told funny stories and those same media people also care so little about ethics that they preferred amusing quotes from ole Bobby. F$U as an institution also doesn't care about integrity, they shelve that for football wins.

If this goes in the direction it looks like it's going (charges for domestic violence against Williams), then FSU is in for a world of hurt. Hell, the NFL was in hot water for a while there with the Ray Rice thing, and now the reigning national champion and undefeated college football team is throwing themselves into the fire.

What is wrong with people? Has this stuff always happened behind closed doors? Not just in football, but all over the place? Is this the world I grew up in and just didn't know it?

Yeah if this one blows up (and it has all the looks of being a case that will blow up) this probably isn't going to end well for FSU. Adrian Peterson got put on indefinite suspension because of visual evidence about what he did. Ray Rice essentially gets kicked out of the NFL because visual evidence surfaced of what he did.

Now you have FSU officials outright denying anything is going on, and you have the head coach, the same head coach who has been as adamantly defensive of his alleged rapist of a star QB calling him an upstanding citizen and the like, and he's doing this same thing, praising the character of the kid all the while there is visual evidence of the battery he committed on the pregnant mother of his young child. And when this goes down, it won't be long until the media really puts the heat on Jimbo for everything that happened during the Winston case, and considering the way in which he has handled criticism lately, this isn't going to end well in Tally.

Sorry to say Horse, but even when you were but a colt in the stable this stuff was going on. I think it seems more prevalent because of 1) we live in a 24/7 news cycle now so it gets reported on a lot more and 2) the victims are coming out and being heard (the power of social media). I hope that this sheds light on the problem and people can get help. If you are willing to hit a woman (a pregnant one at that) where does it stop? A toddler? An infant?

Don't know what to make of this:

The attorney for the woman whom Florida State running back Karlos Williams is alleged to have assaulted said Tuesday that he has asked the Tallahassee Police Department to drop its investigation.

Nathan Prince said his client never contacted Tallahassee police about the alleged domestic assault incident. He said someone from FSU contacted the police after seeing the woman's allegations of abuse on social media.

Money changed hands. Either that, or just the same ole arm twisting by the F$U athletic department. Same story, current decade. It's gone on forever in lots of college towns over lots of decades.

I could have sworn from my extensive experience of watching COPS that Florida was one of those states that it didn't matter if the woman "pressed charges". If the police saw visible evidence the state could go after the guy. But I guess I remember incorrectly.

Also, doing Meth impairs your bicycle driving ability. I also learned that from watching COPS.

Hate to say it, be we are talking about the Tallahassee PD here. The police have to actively file the charges in order for that to take place.
