Pretty much, with exception of Tyrod, Logan and Bucky..we haven't really recruited that well on offense. I know I'm missing other names here (Darren Evans, Wilson, R. Williams) but overall it just hasn't been that good for a long time.

our recruiting went off a cliff starting around 2009, and we're seeing the culmination of a bunch of recruiting classes that were essentially devoid of offensive talent. Yeah, its great that we have freshmen contributing right now, but with anything of competence the last 5 years on the recruiting trail, and we're dealing with a healthy mix of senior, junior, and sophomore at the skill positions, especially at WR. The fact we have no choice but to seriously rely on two true freshmen and a sophomore at the wideout positions is very telling about just how much the previous regime failed in keeping the recruiting pipelines open.
And that's not even touching on the absolute mess that Newsome left us at OL. That alone is going to be a 2-3 additional year fix, minimum.

It's close, but I certainly think that the rest of this season is the tipping point. The coaches need to turn this around or, IMO, rock bottom will be much worse. I hope the players realize that they still have the opportunity to show the country that VT football is not going to hit rock bottom, and that we will return to national relevance.

In the mid to late 2000's we wasted 4 NFL WR's on the same team... Morgan, Royal, Clowney, and Harper. (Yes, Clowney probably didn't catch 20 career passes and Harper spent 3 years on the Ravens practice squad, but....) As hard as it is to make it in to the league we should have been throwing the ball all over the field... thats some serious wide reciever talent.

I mean wow. That's bad. I almost forgot about how bad we were primetime against Clemson in 2011. That game was so depressing. Lane stadium was just waiting to erupt and we did absolutely nothing on offense.

Seriously, AB.... why dontcha just come to our respective places of work/study and give us each a swift knee to the groin?
we need a reset button
So the historical perspective is we have ducked on offense for the last 10 years...I did not know that.

Is this rock bottom? I sure hope so; because then there is only one place to go from there.
