Hoops target Chris Clarke announcing tomorrow

Not sure if this has been posted but Chris Clarke is announcing his decision tomorrow. This could be our 2nd 4* along with Justin Robinson who looks very good. Buzz continues to impress in the recruiting department.

Believe that Blackshear is a 4* as well.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Would be an excellent get.

That being said, we're starting to get a little guard-heavy (which isn't exactly a bad thing, especially with the talent these kids are coming in with. We have generally excelled over the years with good guard play, and the future appears to be no different). Kinda hoping for some big boys to start coming in to really round out this team going forward.

Doubt once Clarke develops physically that he plays guard.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Yeah, he definitely projects to playing the 3-spot.

Any word on his decision yet?

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

I just saw that the announcement is running late. Expect info after 4:00 P.M.

Unfortunately, Chris Clarke decided to go with Donnie Tyndall at UofTennessee.

God damnit I hate Tennessee

Other than UT fans I think mostly everyone does.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Well that sucks, best of luck to him.

Its okay guys, were just saving space for Thon Maker to complete our roster for our 2016 national title run.

It's unfortunate that we didn't get him, but I'll transfer my hopes over to whoever replaces him as the #1 target on Buzz's list. Thing is - 8 months ago, we couldn't have gotten a returned text from him. We were busy chasing after somebody that we might lose to Elon or UNC-Asheville.

Buzz has us in deeper waters now, even before the college basketball world sees him on the sidelines wearing an orange & maroon tie. It will only get better from here.

Wow. That would have been such a huge get, and to think that we were 82% favorites in the crystal ball. Definitely makes you wonder why people would pay money for the 247sports insider. The future still looks bright, and without Buzz, I doubt we would have even been in the discussion for this guy. Wish the kid the best of luck at UT, but its going to hurt watch him turn into the star many are projecting him to be thinking what could have been.

That's just like how we will watch Montrezl Harrell compete for the POY nationally this season. Donnie Tyndall is a good coach, and this will help him at UofTenn immensely. He & Buzz are both new hires, so both guys have really been getting after it.

I bet there's a JUCO guy somewhere that Buzz will snatch up

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

You mean like Shane Henry?

I am disappointed we didn't get Clarke because he was a target of Buzz but I believe we will still be strong in guards for next few years with the current freshmen. My hopes for our next few recruits are for some big men, I know Henry will help but we need more.

Would have been a huge get as he was projected to be a forward in college. Just have to look elsewhere now! I trust in Buzz

Who is the next target for us to get our hopes up for?

Buzz will reel in the next one...I have faith.

Adding Clarke was already a space to scholarship challenge for next year unless Buzz ran off a few kids. Clarke also would have been behind at least Hill, if not Bibbs next year. Blackshear brings more size to the table and has better potential to fill in as Henry graduates than Clarke necessarily would have. Still have to wonder what Tyndall sold him to make such a big swing. The basketball guys at 247 are usually alot better than their football counterparts.

Tyndall probably sold him on the promise of being 'the' guy who started the renaissance of UofTenn basketball. I don't get the impression Tyndall is smarmy like Bruce Pearl was & still is, but that could have been a legitimate sell by him in that regard.

If Clarke had signed that would have put us one scholarship over for next season, forcing someone out next year. At this stage its a real question who that would have been. Not that I even want to speculate on that, but it may not even be necessary to do that. Looking ahead to next year we will already be pretty balanced with three PG's, three SG's, two 3's, three 4's, and two 5's, with interchangeability among the groups. Not that I wouldn't have liked to had Clarke (his talent is undeniable IMO), but once we get through this year we already seem to be a lot better off in terms of numbers and balance. And the talent is good. When you take this year's team, add the transfers, and add the 2015 recruits we already have, that team should have a chance to make some noise.

Some good thoughts here. I like the concept if not having a bunch if turnover. Very discouraging for the program when the roster changes so much.

I'm not hearing much on any other recruits for 2015, would think this is probably it. 2016 needs to be a big year for front court.

It could be that Buzz has balanced his desire for a 2015 player to the longer term picture of cycling future years with huge peaks & valleys. There might not be much else out there to grab right now.

As said above the 2 recruits we have already will fill up available scholarship space
