Thanks for that "Bonus" at the end, Andy. We all certainly love feel-good stories and it is a wonderful reminder that, even in the midst of a tough season, VT and the football program are doing wonderful things for people. Kudos to Bill Roth, Frank Beamer, and everyone involved.

"Exit light..."

I think someone is cutting onions in here

"Win or lose we'll greet you with a glad returning!"

Your comment made me think of this

kidding aside though, that was a great story and another reason I'm so proud to be a Hokie.

Ditto!

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

.... but some guy on Twitter said so .... SOME GUY ON TWITTER SAID SO!!! /s

And he has pictures standing next to football players! He must be an insider if he takes pictures with players!

Reading the story about those kids gave me chills. I love this school, and I'm really proud to be a Hokie.

Amen... The popularity of college football is frequently exploited for nefarious reasons. It's always refreshing to be reminded that its powers are also frequently used for good.

Leonard. Duh.

So I wonder, is there any chance of Chase Williams returning next year due to medical hardship?

I think he would not be eligible because there is a limit on the number of games the player can participate in during the season for this to apply. I recall someone saying that if Maddy had played in another game, he would not be eligible.

You can't play in more than 30% of games in a season to qualify. That means no more than 4 games in a 12 game schedule (they round 3.6 up to 4), so he wouldn't be eligible unfortunately.

Also, he's a fifth-year senior. You can only get a sixth year if you miss two entire seasons due to injury and petition the NCAA for an additional season, ala David Wang..
