Thanks Andy.

"Were not going to comment on it," Loeffler said. "And its not to not tell you. Its a major disadvantage for us to put that out there. Its a major disadvantage, because if you go one direction, if we say that one direction, thats how theyre going to game plan you. If we go this direction, theyre going to totally go different.

1) Are teams really game planning against Tech's 3rd string (would be 4th string) QB?
2) Can you really game plan Sam Rogers anyway?

Let's Go...

Yeah, it seems kind of ridiculous that he's hiding this information. Our first string guys have had a hard enough time executing, so I don't think a third string QB who's never played is really going to take up much of an opponent's practice time.

However, I prefer this attitude to Loeffler not caring. I'd rather him prepare and act like every tiny piece of information counts. I think it sets a good example for the team and a reminder that the season isn't lost. They should prepare like every moment/play/game still counts.

unless our last 3rd string guy who is now 2nd string guy was really the best QB on our roster and now our new 3rd string QB has now taken that spot??

If we get to third string, I say we line up Bucky AND rogers back there every time. You'll never know who's getting the snap and you have to consider so many options on every play.

This sounds like the old single wing which apparently is still very alive across the mountain in Giles County.

The catch to that scenario is that Giles won that state championship on fundamentally sound OLine blocking and lightning speed. Virginia Tech doesn't have any of that.

I mean hell, at this rate, nobody would even know we had a 2nd string QB with how little we ever use the guy over the course of a year. 3rd string QB is the absolute least of our worries.

Outside of blowouts and injuries (and suspensions), I would venture that most FBS teams don't use their 2nd-string QB much. Why should we be different?

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

Well that's kind of what I'm saying.

For most teams the 2nd string QB rarely plays. Who gives a crap who the 3rd string QB is?

Ah, gotcha. I think I misread your intent before. (Wouldn't be the first time. lol)

Anyone else notice that Bud always plays with his nose in interviews? I don't want to jump on the conspiracy train or anything but I think it's pretty solid proof that he's a robot and his nose is how he controls himself.
