#doublestack

I love seeing the confidence of our 0-line slowly build.

So Teller pancakes the Duke defender over Hodges. Does that make Hodges a "short stack?" Delicious irony.

I'll see myself out.

And what exactly was Bucky trying to do there?

I think it was a cut block. Maybe trying to help him tie his shoes.

Must have been blueberry pancakes...

Well done

This clip is about as old school as it gets. I was taught to knock your guy down, then get on top of him so he can't possibly make a play. Taught the same thing to my son, but I'm not even sure if that is legal anymore. Still, who the hell cares? That is awesome.
Come film room time, no way you are getting called out because your guy made the tackle with that technique.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A gif is worth a million.

I wish I could throw anything that far.

Meanwhile Wang walked past the 2 guys that made the tackle and looked like he was going to block the defender that Wyatt just planted. C'mon man.

What the heck? How does Wang run right past two unblocked defenders?

'Its easy to grin, when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat,
but the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat'

A poor cut block by Hodges left one man able to make the tackle. Wang was looking downfield to hit the safety or the linebacker, not the CB that made the tackle. At the time that the CB turned in to JC to make a play, Wang had already run past him and was looking forward.

It was a poor cut block, but to me it doesn't look like his head was downfield to the safety at all. He was always looking to the left and even turned around at the end after he walked between 2 unblocked (or poorly blocked) defenders.

Wang's head is left, but the player that made the tackle is the CB on his right. Teller hits the LB and gets a piece of the other LB that assists on the tackle on JC. It appears that Wang is turning around as the LB is getting up to make sure he's out of the play. Should he have picked up one of the two tacklers? Sure, but he wasn't just running without a purpose and letting defenders through.

Really, I can't even enjoy this gif because of this. He splits them without touching them and then turns and makes a move towards the guy that just got flattened. Give JC a chance to make 1 defender miss and get a huge gain.

I saw that too. I'm trying very hard to focus on the positive developments on the line, but that play would have gotten more yards if there was better blocking.

I don't mean to sound like someone who's never satisfied; that pancake was fantastic. I guess I'm just new enough at this whole film thing that missed blocks stand out to me way more than all but the most amazing successful blocks. My reaction to this was definitely "DAYUM, what a hit!...Wait a minute, did Wang just go right past those guys?"

I think that shows just how much potential this offense and the individual players have. If we can clean up just a few technical mistakes, we're gonna start hitting some really big plays. We're close, but this level of football demands outstanding execution from each player in order for a unit to be successful.

I feel a little better about Wang's effort now, he clearly was just mesmerized with what Teller was going to that linebacker.

Wang is so frustrating on that play. If he has his eyes up, looking down the lane, he should kick out #14 easily, and JC would be GONE.

@CraigThompsonVT

What ever floats your boat my friend, let's just leave Wang mesmerization out of this

The maroon and orange lettering is a nice touch.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Teller is a beast and is going to be a huge part of the rebuilding of the offensive line

All Maroon everything

Does anyone have a clip/gif where Gibson was in his backpedal (i believe) and Wyatt, with no one to engage, just destroys Gibsons guy. It was glorious.. Gibson was okay on his own but Teller with the assist was my straw.. Guy is throwback Hokie. Like Jake Grove, Will Montgomery, Dwight Vick throwback. This will rub off I assure you.

I saw that, but then I believe Hansen's guy got the sack anyway.

Reality has a mighty pimp hand.

Looks like from the clip it needs to (wait for it)...

rub off on Wang.

Love what Teller is doing - he's going to be stellar. Can't wait to see how the line rebuilds around him.

Stellar Teller!

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Technically speaking, I believe this should have been flagged for a high low block. Maybe I'm wrong?

We wont win the race until a trophy is in the case!

Bucky had fallen down trying to block his man and I think it's incidental in this case. If a flag was thrown every time someone tripped over someone else, we'd have chop blocks called all the time. Within the letter of the law? Maybe, but it would be really questionable.

"Exit light..."

I guess the part that I had wrong is that both players weren't actively engaging in the block. Thanks for the clarification!

Bucky fell to the ground, he didn't go low on the particular guy Wyatt was blocking so no, no call should have been made.

Technically speaking, Teller threw the guy over Hodges, so Hodges didn't actually engage him low.

I see hate in that hit by Teller and makes me feel warm inside.

At the very least Wang should have been on top of the guy after Teller hit him. Instead he watched Teller continue to play and on top of the guy. I love the aggressiveness of Teller but hate the passiveness of Wang. really shows you what we have been up against this year.

You never want to have a passive Wang. You need to have a battle hardened Wang that's ready to go at a moment's notice.

Perhaps our Wang just needs some sort of pill to help him get going.
