Brief Mook Reynolds Update

I exchanged messages with Mook via Twitter this morning. I asked him about his upcoming official visit to Ole Miss on 11/29 and he told me "I'm still a Hokie, taking a visit and I'll see where things go from there."

I have to stop caring about recruiting. It's like politics. It just doesn't matter.

I just couldn't see him leaving here....as much as he's played the role of recruiter for VT over the past 9 months, he's almost invested in the team already.

I wish I could think the same, but Adam McLean was the same way for PSU and decommitted yesterday.

GIVE IT TO ME ROSCOE!

The only reason he decommitted was because he didn't have the grades to get into PSU.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Just read something along those lines as well. Definitely would explain things.

GIVE IT TO ME ROSCOE!

Well maybe that's why Mook is looking at Ole Miss??? If he is borderline academically (or worse) than Ole Miss is safe bet (think Marshall or WVU)

I don't think that's the reason. When I interviewed him in May he was on track to enroll early, which means his academics were in order.

Also, it takes two minutes speaking with him to realize he's not a dope and has a good head on his shoulders.

"Also, it takes two minutes speaking with him to realize he's not a dope and has a good head on his shoulders."

He has a huge decision to make, and he is exploring his options because, well, he can. I'd put that in the smart category. You don't get to call the shots all that often in life.

Obviously, we all want him to be a Hokie, but we need to leave him alone and just hope for the best. He has done a lot for us already - recruiting for us as much as any commit I can remember. If he goes elsewhere, I will sincerely wish him the best. He's a good one.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A gif is worth a million.

i don't usually get too bent out of shape about recruiting...

but mook flipping away from Tech would be devastating for appearances with how pro-hokie he's been.

Every second counts

Those co-eds will get after ya. Enjoy the process all you want, Mook. I wish my college decision making included a trip to Mississippi in November

Oh, Hell Yeah. If I had committed to anywhere, I still wouldn't turn down an all expenses paid trip to the Grove.

Leonard. Duh.

Why? It's still Mississippi.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Let's see.
It's 21 F here.

What's the temp at Ole Miss? Girls still sunbathing?

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Well here in LA (lower Alabama) its currently at 9:38 CST AM and it is 40 degrees F. If there are girls sunbathing in Mississippi well...

according to weather.com:

high of 53, low of 29. chance of co-eds sunbathing <5%.

and it is still mississippi.

Every second counts

If you think there's something wrong with Mississippi, you are not looking in the right place.

The blues legend returns periodically to jam at nearby Club Ebony, the 1940s-established club he played in early onand now owns.

Club Ebony

batter-fried pork chops and beer. Indianola is also catfish country.

Mud bugs, catfish, hush puppies and etouffe'
Southern Comfort food buddy.

Lazy Magnolia Brewing Co.

Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans.

Don't you shortchange Mississippi, you do that and you shortchange the whole Delta.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

yeah maybe i shouldn't shortchange it...

i was actually born there.

Every second counts

Well then you know it's a great place to visit.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

They did just officially abolish slavery like 2 years ago. So progress has been made and I think a quick visit wouldn't hurt my brain too much. YAY CATFISH

February 2013 actually, that is outrageous.

No, that was 1865.

The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. In Congress, it was passed by the Senate on April 8, 1864, and by the House on January 31, 1865. It was ratified by the required number of states on December 6, 1865.

And with that I will comment no more.

I know we are talking law but getting to the knife's edge of politics.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Fully aware of all that.

and it made no difference whatsoever......

It had been superceeded nearly 140 years ago.

Done. No more.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Sorry Eg, but I don't think this is a political discussion, just a comedic oversight that was made public knowledge last year. I get what you are trying to do, but this is just comedy from a bizarre situation, that's all.

Ok then, I agree wholeheartedly.

Continue the awesomeness, please.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Yep, sorry just thought it was funny. Didn't mean to stir the pot or anything

39 degrees right now. Anyone sunbathing is hard-core, to say the least.

You catching my drift here? He won't be in a parka at the game.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Gotcha.

A simple Google Images search for "Ole Miss Coeds" tells you all you need to know about that "Why"

Googled and found this little gem. Pretty classic response for a girl who has been a fan "her whole life"

West Virginian by birth, Hokie by choice

These reaction videos like this honestly make youtube for me. Between this broad, the Cowboy's fan wanting to bite his pet fish's head off and all the videos from Alabama-Auburn last year. I could watch them all day long.

I love me some meltdown videos as well. That being said, if you're the one being an asshole provoking the situation like the guy in this video was, you deserve to get knocked the f out.

Weatherman here to put a damper on the sunbathing weekend, severe gulf coast weather is probable this weekend particularly Saturday evening. That said I hope he travels safe!

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

To add a little bit of optimism to this post, we still have a shot at flipping Vic Alexander and Tim Settle is looking good. Just have to wonder about his grades that everyone seems to be talking about.

GIVE IT TO ME ROSCOE!

Regarding Mook, Bud Foster is designing the new role for the nickel position (if you watched closely on Saturday Chuck Clark played the boundary, field, slot, and deep safety positions) specifically with the skill set that Mook Reynolds brings to the table. He wants a kid who can cover, tackle, and move laterally and he wants that kid to be comfortable around the line of scrimmage. Mook is a perfect fit for the concept, especially when he fills out.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

There is no need to worry about Mook. He's going to be a hokie.

Jack Bauer fears no one. Except Xavier Adibi.

Somebody call me?.....lol
