Going to try and update this with players who make 53 man roster, practice squads and who gets cut. Also if someone wants to add CFL and arena league guys that would be great. Like to follow Hokies around, I'm sure I'm not the only one.

As a Vikings fan, im very please Exum made the 53 man roster
I'm also a Viking fan, so I cosign this.
very please.
much happy.
wow.
such daycare
It looks like Andrew Miller, Derrick Hopkins both got cut.
Andrew Miller went to my high school. I hope he can find a place somewhere in the NFL.
Ryan Williams was waived.
On the plus side, he's not playing for the Cowboys...
He'll get picked up by another team.
Yes! Hopefully he'll catch on in ANY OTHER CAMP
Maybe picked up by the giants?
Ryan Williams got signed to the Dallas practice squad.
That means 31 other teams passed on signing him to their 53. Hard. To. Believe.
Guess I should cut him from my fantasy team then...
One of the reasons I hate FF, heart gets in the way.
For the Broncos, Will Montgomery made the 53 man roster. Vinston Painter was placed on waivers. If no team claims him, the Broncos can sign him again.
Danny Coale has been waived by the Steelers
Both Fullers make the cut? :)
You ask like there was any doubt.
Eagles cut Carmichael and Davon Morgan
List is up to date as of 1130 am of 8/31/14.
Just checked. Broncos signed Vinston to the practice squad.
I'll update Tuesday after most of the pratice squads have been officially announced.
I'll also update the whole season, any guys that get traded or hurt.
I didn't know Flowers played for "Dan Diego" now. When did he leave the chiefs?
Released by Chiefs in early June, signed with San Diego end of June.
Hosley needs to get his act together.
Just doing a quick look through the CFL rosters, the only VT player I saw was Macho Harris of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. They are 10 weeks into their season. I really thought there would be more Hokies up in that league, so maybe I have missed some.
Updated will add CFL/ arena guys tomorrow.
Kyle Fuller is going to be a beast. He has the city of Chicago buzzing. I mean right now we don't have much to look forward to on defense so it's great to have a guy who can get us a few INTs.
I was coming back from lunch yesterday and heard Cowherd saying that he thought Kyle was the most promising guy coming out of the draft. Or something like that.
Ask and you shall receive. Fuller steps on and does Fuller things.
Darryl Tapp and Shayne Graham both re-signed with their respective teams today and put on the 53 man rosters.
Figured Graham might, I heard NO cut both of their kickers, leaving with no kickers on the roster. Not sure what the bureaucratic advantage might have been there.
Probably wanted to see what else was out there...and came up dry. Plus I think they were doing some fiddling with backup QBs and ultimately released one to make room for Graham.
I know this is from a couple weeks ago, but the thread was updated so I figure I could answer.
There was apparently a gap of a couple days between final cuts down to the final 53 man roster and the first day a team could declare a player to IR, and they had an injured player to put on IR. Therefore, they had to cut an additional player, and kickers are cheap and I highly doubt he got a signing bonus, so his contract was easy to cut and resign.
By waiting to resign Graham, since he is a veteran with certain rights per the collective bargaining agreement, the Saints do not have to guarantee his salary or contract for the entire season, essentially allowing them to cut him at any time with no repercussions to the salary cap, etc.
Once they show up on NFL.com today I will edit it. Thanks for heads up.
Updated Sept 2nd, looks like 18-21 Hokies will be on teams the 1st week. ( depends on what websites are up to date with IR players, and if you count players suspended.)
CFL and AFL players added.
Updated as of 9/16/14 the Hokies have 25 players "in" the NFL this week.
Poor Derrick Hopkins. I feel for him. He killed it for us
Signed to Lions pratice squad.
I think it's awesome that almost 30 HOKIES are playing football and getting paid, except for Hosley and his suspended self.
Roster updated, however could be major changes in next weeks update.
So...aside from Noel, Glennon and MV5, all our QBs since 1999 are playing professionally.
You are correct sir.
Marcus might be playing for the Mean Machine.
He'll be all like

It is not easy to find fully vetted accurate information on some players. You would really think that in the Internet age it would be easier to verify whether someone was on a team or not.
You think trying to find football information is hard? Try looking for information on former Hokie basketball players. There are about 150 leagues worldwide that they might be playing in.
Updated to show Hosley on 53 man roster for Giants also added some "injury settlements" to players who were cut/waived.
Updated 10/10 with Derrick Hopkins Signing to Lions practice squad. 29 Hokies getting paid to play football, 25 in the NFL. Might be the best year in a long time.
Wow, they aren't kidding around
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/10/10/antone-exum-jr-fined-220...
I haven't been able to find anything on this other than the same description as in the link that Bush was trailing the play and that the block was to the chest and shoulder area. Has anyone else come across a video or a more in depth description that explains why the hit was even illegal, let alone fineable?
You can't block someone trailing the play if they don't have a reasonable chance to see it coming, i.e. from the back or side. It's the Hines Ward rule. Basically you have to block a guy from the front these days (10 o'clock to 2 o'clock). They'll also call it occasionally if it's close and the defender has no real chance to defend himself, especially if it's high, which I disagree with and I don't believe is technically part of the rule. Sounds as though the hit may have been fairly high, hence the fine.
That being said, hitting him in the chest makes it sound like it was the wrong call.
Kyle Fuller just had himself another forced fumble against Julio. He's unreal
10/17/14 update: Derrick Hopkins released AGAIN, this makes three teams he has been released from, not a good sign.
Ok fellow HOKIES, if anyone can point me to a list of Hokies who are coaching at the NFL/AFL/CFL levels it would be appreciated.
No trades involving any Hokies looks like this will be the rosters depending on injuries or practice squad movement. Sad to see some of these guys not latch on anywhere.
Updated, Nick Becton signed to Saints.
Updated: Roc Carmichael resigned with the Eagles as of 11/18
Updated: James Anderson released by Titans signed by Falcons
Bryan Randall isn't what I would really call playing this year. He is working at fords colony golf course. I ran into him while I was up there for a tournament. I believe he said something about playing next season. Maybe the league he plays for has a different season from college and nfl. I am not real familiar with the afl.
March to July, this is for 2014 rosters.
That makes a lot more sense I didn't know the afl season was from March to July. Also you do a great job of compiling this list and keeping it up to date.
Thanks, I dont really "have a" NFL team so to speak so I like to follow Hokies around in the pros, while Ive seen other lists out there with their stats for the week I like to have a complete picture of who is where. Plus with CFL and AFL being on TV more its YEAR ROUND FOOTBALL!
Eddie Royal with the Virginia Tech Sunday night shoutout.
Flowers with Sunday night football shoutout for Birginia Tech.
Roc Carmichael released AGAIN by the Eagles.
Andrew Miller added to Saints practice squad.
I can not find this transaction on anything but articles nothing in official transaction lists.
Next up! Hokies in the NBA!
Erik Green
Danny Coale signed to Steelers practice squad.
Several players including Roc Carmichael signed to future contracts, not going to post them all. Will post when 90 man rosters come out.
James Anderson picked up by Cowboys
Missed that with him being cut on Christmas eve, thanks.
Davon Morgan is a safety for the New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League. atleast hes playing
edit: just read Justin Hamilton was assistant coaching at UVa Wise...........
I guess Ryan Lindley needed some more INTs to pad his resume. More LT6 going forward (eight months)?
Record setting performance?
USA Today sports: Ryan Lindley was worst QB to ever start a playoff game
This doesn't really answer the proposed question, but apparently contains this tweet from LT's dad, Eddie Tarazona:
NFL.com Why didn't Cardinals go to Logan Thomas?
Really harsh responses about how bad LT6 must have been if he couldn't even beat Lindley in practice. Glad I don't have those fans.
Paging Sean Glennon...
James Gayle was signed by the Redskins to a reserve/future contact.
http://www.redskins.com/news-and-events/article-1/Redskins-Sign-Five-To-ReserveFuture-Contracts/bf6a0730-244c-44b3-ab54-fac39340b61e
Going to wait for all future contract signings until training camp rosters are set.
Looking for knowledgeable Hokies to help. Going to try and add a list of former Hokie players who now coach at FCS level and above. Add any you know about and I will edit the original post just as I do for players on 53 man rosters.
Todd Washington - Assistant Offensive Line Coach, Baltimore Ravens
Nick Sorensen - Assistant Special Teams Coach, Seatle Seahawks
Eugene Chung - Assistant Offensive Line Coach, Kansas City Chiefs
Marcus Gildersleeve - Wide Receivers Coach, Austin Peay
edited (to add more names)
Bruce Arians - Head Coach, Arizona Cardinals
Todd Grantham - DC, Louisville
Greg Shockley - RB, VMI

Chris Malone - OL, University of Tennessee at Chatanooga
Chris Cosh - DC, North Texas
John Latina - OL, Duke
Keith Gray - Assist. Strength & Conditioning, Philadelphia Eagles
Cols Colas - Assist. Strength & Conditioning, University of Miami
John Graves - Assist. Strength & Conditioning, Washington State
James Hopper - DB, Western Carolina
It's division II, but...
Justin Harper- WR, Lenoir-Rhyne
Justin Harper is now at Virginia State
Hmm, yeah, looks like you're right. He's still on L-R's football website and not yet on Virginia State's. Good catch.
How are you finding all these, outside of the alums coaching at Tech, HC or NFL position coaches I've been struggling to find them.
There was a Hokie Coaching Tree thread on The Tunnel (VTScoop 247) about a year or two ago. It was started by Dwight Vick and people put together a list similar to what you are asking for, but it also included HS coaches. Some of the coaches on that list have moved around since then though.
Not a former player, but Stanford's Strength and Conditioning coach Shannon Turley, was a student assistant in VT's program
Dyrell Roberts is the WR coach at ASA junior college in Brooklyn NY, per his Twitter account.
That's where Drew Harris ended up playing at. Did we just become a pipeline for them?
He left there and went to UMASS, but just left UMASS.
So we should expect Drew Harris to arrive on campus with the team any day now, right?
I know a guy who said he saw a guy that said he saw Drew Harris at the admissions office the other day. He should be here for the summer workouts.
Todd Nolan will be his roommate and start at wide receiver next season.
In addition to those that others have mentioned:
Chad Grimm - defensive quality control coach, San Diego Chargers
James Griffin is apparently WR coach at Fullerton College.
http://www.fchornets.com/sports/fball/coaches/8griffin_james
But how much is a Fuller ton?
Way down the coaching lines, but Orion Martin is the coach at Martinsville High School now. Rough first year, 1-10.
Orion Martin is now coaching at Ferrum...
http://www.ferrum.edu/about_ferrum/administration/offices_and_department...
For a "what are they doing now," Waverly Jackson is Head Coach at Bluestone High, who when he took over was struggling to win a game for close to 10 years. They didnt have the best season this year, but have won more games in past few seasons than they did in the decade before.
Jarrett Boykin to the Panthers...
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/27/panthers-add-former-pack...
Woooo!
Has to be awesome to be able to play for your hometown team.
Awesome! Great to have another Hokie on the Panthers again.
That's great and awesome. But will he be getting ANY playing time? It also sucks that he went from Rogers to Scam Newton.
He wasn't going to get any more time in Green Bay so this is a step up for him.
He'll have the opportunity to compete. The only WR set in stone on that roster is Kelvin Benjamin at the #1 spot.
Also Cam isn't that bad, don't buy the media hate. He can get the ball to Boykin.
It'll be like catching passes from LT3 again, I know. That being said I still don't put Newton quite on par with Rogers in terms of accuracy or game management. So, if he's in position for more playing time (for the #2 spot you're making it sound like), who else could/would seriously challenge him for it?
Cam is a far superior passer than Logan ever was, so no that doesn't really compare. They do share the trait of throwing high though.
He'll be competing with Jericho Cotchery and Philly Brown for the #2... Though I think Boykin would be a great fit in the slot where Cotchery took most of his snaps last year.
Edit: Should also mention that Boykin's best production in the NFL came in 2013, when Rodgers was out for half the season with a collarbone injury. Cam is better than the backups he was playing with so, he should be just fine with that.
Roster updated for arena, games start tomorrow, March 27th. Down to two players in arena. You can catch their games on ESPN, CBS SPORTS and ESPN3.
Bryan Randall on ESPN with arena football team Philadelphia Soul, number 9.
The Soul kicker was injured and Randall was put in as the kickoff guy. Did ok from what I can tell. #beamerball
I saw some of that last night when I went to go pick up some dinner. They were playing Orlando. How did the Soul do? What were Randall's stats?
Philly won with a last minute TD pass one handed catch. Randall is not the starting QB. So his kick off stats were pretty good. Even got one recovered by his team for a TD.
Would anyone be interested in a list of Hokies on OTA/89 man rosters for camp? I would be willing to put in the work to do that if anyone else besides me is interested in that information.
