I'll offer one very small example, but hopefully no one will take this as me trying to make any sweeping statements about the state of things, as I am still processing. Our blitz pickup was abysmal today. I saw probably 10-12 times (or so it seemed, but it was definitely a lot) when the RB or FB whiffed, missed, or otherwise failed on blocking a blitzing LB. Trey Edmunds was always solid in pass pro. With JC being undersized, Caleb totally failing in his blocking, and Rogers being a bit too eager to get down field at times, we have no one in the backfield to help the QB when the O-line breaks or (as French noted via Twitter) calls the completely wrong protection.
EDIT: I realize your question was about Duke, but I don't think that's necessarily an apples-to-apples comparison and I think we need to look at the season more globally to try to figure out what the hell is going on.

Dukes CBs sucked in comparison to Wake's CBs. Their secondary defended against passes very well.
