When a defensive unit holds the opposing team scoreless for 4 quarters, there is absolutely nothing more they could have done to win the game. Bud Foster and his defensive unit played their hearts out. All they asked from the offense was to score a field goal. Sure VT is ravaged by injuries but that is no excuse for losing that game against Wake Forest. Of course Kendal Fuller could have returned an interception for a TD, but it is not up to the defense to put points on the board. If the Hokies do not go to a bowl game this year, it will be because of their erratic offensive production. At this point of the season, Scot Loeffler has to get the offense to play better to win the commonwealth cup and keep the bowl streak alive.
What more does DC Bud Foster have to do to win a bowl game?

Well I haven't seen Bud score any points himself, so there's that.
In all seriousness, do you think our offense or our defense will score more points in the last game(s?) of the season?
Well they can't score less
I actually said to my brother in the 3rd quarter "we are going to need a score from the d to get any points today". it's not a good feeling when you have more confidence in your d scoring than your offense.
I always have confidence in my D scoring.
yeah but that confidence has to be somewhat tempered when there's no guarantee that the O will show up
Well done.
Bottom line is we have to beat uva no matter what. Coaching changes can take place after the regular season or after the bowl game but we have to beat uva.
They are way better than we are right now.
Well maybe Bud could have tried being OC for the second half... Could he really have done any worse than Loeffler?
And in my opinion we have a solid receiving corps as well. I agree, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to lose to this Wake Forest team.
