Scot Loeffler Post Practice Interview, Virginia Week

Watch the entire clip.

Mark Giannotto recorded Loeffler's Q&A with the media during today's media availability.

1) He's fired up.
2) I hope he gets a good night's rest after the Virginia game.
3) I've been very critical of him as of late, but you can tell he's breaking his ass to figure things out. It's just not happening.

I like the point about simplifying the offense...The OSU game was pretty complicated and we did fine but with the injuries and everything this offense is simplified as much as possible.

A new season...new hope

I don't know how to feel but he pointed out a lot of things that caused set backs on offense... one more year?

-Semper Primus

Sorry man, just don't see another year. Yes he is intense and this was a good presser from him but this is a bottom line game and a bottom line business, and our bottom line pretty stinkin' low.

Every team has injuries, every team has inexperience, every team has adversity. It is part of the deal, you live with it, learn from it, and plan for it.

The play calling (or lack of), unpreparedness, sloppiness, and general ineptitude make me say thanks but no thanks to another year. Best of luck to the guy though.

I think there may be too many things wrong there to just overcome and win.

You mention three critical issues. Sort of like saying a lumber jack is missing two arms and a leg but still can do his job. If they were toes or fingers, maybe, but arms and legs, no.

You think Malzahn, Meyer, or Kiffin would be able to pull it off better if facing the same issues? Don't think so.

He, and Beamer will get another year at least.

Ha, let's not lump Kiffin in with two coaches who have won multiple National Championships lol

Threw him in due to his OC work, past and current. Sucks as an HC though. Others are OC guys originally.

Yes every team does have injuries but how often does a team lose 4 running backs within a months time to injury's? Go back to any of the teams during the mid to late 2000s and take away the top 4 running backs and I guarantee there's no 10 win season streak.

The running back situation is unfathomable. But I don't think it is the key reason for the offense looking the way it does. I'd point more to the injuries and lack of talent on the offensive line. Even with the original starters, we weren't running for enough yards to change games.

On another note, nobody wants to admit that the qb that won the starting job was a left-over from a 4-7 Texas Tech team. Think long and hard about that before pinning all the problems on Loeffler. I do think that Loeffler has a major problem coaching down to the talent he has and realizing that a simple game plan can be a winning game plan. I'm on the fence about whether he should go or stay after this year. The fact that he has a contract milestone coming up in January would probably weigh greatly on my decision. As AD, I would also want to dig into the truth behind the feelings of Loeffler in the locker room and coaches meetings.

... the qb that won the starting job was a left-over from a 4-7 Texas Tech team. Think long and hard about that before pinning all the problems on Loeffler.

You seem to be saying it's Brewer's fault, not Loeffler's fault. But that's the whole point, isn't it? Brewer is Loeffler's fault.

"Our job as coaches is to influence young people's lives for the better in terms of fundamental skills, work ethic, and doing the right thing. Every now and again, a player actually has that effect on the coaching staff." Justin Fuente on Sam Rogers

I'm not sure the book is completely written on Brewer yet. But yeah, I'm saying he's pretty average at best. And no, Brewer is not Loeffler's fault. Loeffler didn't make him short, slow, with a weak arm. To be fair, he also didn't make him smart or gritty, which I think he is. Brewer may still improve a bit and surprise everybody if he can get a little bit of protection.

Now, Loeffler may not have a ton of positives to work with at the qb position, but he CAN try to hide some of the negatives. For instance, moving the pocket some may give Brewer 2.5 seconds to throw versus 1 second. Pushing the ball deep once in a while may keep the secondary from crowding the receivers. Those things are Loeffler's responsibility. Brewer's athleticism is not.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." - K

I think the point he's after is that Loeffler was instrumental in bringing in Brewer.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Chad Morris, Brewer's then highschool coach, recommended VT to Brewer and mentioned Brewer to Shane Beamer.

Personally, IMHO, I think Brewer has reinjured or reaggravated his back injury which is causing him pain when he throws. The only time his passes look good is when he has time to set his feet shoulder width apart and throw with his whole body. Of course with our porous O-line, he rarely has the time. Plus during those rare times when the O-line does give him the protection, the recievers must be open and running their routes. Yeah, this season, VT got bit by the injury bug big time and we are struggling. 14 injuries is tough to overcome. Yeah, other teams have injured players, but how many teams have that many injuries and factor in our youth and that we are only in year two of a four year rebuilding project.

Go Hokies!

Brewer isn't Leoffler's fault. I think Motley getting hurt and then his class schedule was the biggest blow to this team this year. It is obvious Brewer cannot see the middle of the field and we never throw to it. That allows the defense to play the sidelines more aggressively and take out those routes. How many times have we run out routes and how many times has Brewer been intercepted on the sidelines..

They said the A. Ford had improved a lot since spring ball when camp started so he may be in the running to be QB next year and I would really like that.

I wasn't expecting a 10 win season, but I also wasn't expecting what we have wound up with either. I understand that when guys go down, you are likely dropping down in talent level with their replacements but it seems almost like they are having to start from scratch, like all of these replacements don't know the playbook, haven't been to practice, and aren't prepared to execute. RB position aside, we continue to look woefully unprepared each week for all games. I see that as a coaching issue.

Part of me wishes he was like this every week.

That's the best press conference he has had at Tech. Hopefully it translates on the field.

If Edmunds plays, we might see some (relatively) good production from this offense, who knows.

The guy needs a fucking nap

Or if he can't get a nap, he needs some modafinil.

Wait, what?

WAR provigil!

My wife blames Lefty's baby for our offensive woes. I think she is on to something. I believe it was the week after the Ohio St. game that the baby was born. It can't be a coincidence.

I know someone who is not very happy with the fact they didn't plan better for the timing of that. I think it has effected him a bit. Lack of sleep and focus. Definitely the lack of sleep

I was JUST about to say this. Get that man some sleep!

There's probably more to this than anyone will give credit to. I know I was much more out of it after my second than I was after my first.

So many things and this is honestly one of them. This year has been so ridiculous with the RB injuries, Leal leaving, Brewer getting inside his own head, and just the overall direction we have taken since Ohio State. It's left us all shaking our heads and is probably about to put Loeffler in counseling.

Wow, I did not know that. Yeah, definitely makes a difference. Some of my coworkers recently had children. First three -five months, they were basically sleep walking and chugging coffee and still barely functional.

You can hear some passion in his voice which I haven't heard before. I think he is frustrated with himself right now and it shows.

He's talking like he knows his job is on the line. Lefty's a smart dude and a damn good position coach (sound familiar?)...hopefully it'll translate into more wins this season and next season.

I will say this - it is clear that this man has given us everything he's got. Much respect for that.

Lefty is a really intelligent guy. Most of our negative comments is that he's too smart; he over complicates things. One thing about being really smart, if you're reflective, you'll eventually figure out how to get really good at whatever you do. I do believe Lefty will be successful. I don't know if it will be on the VT sideline, but once he hones in and figures out how to succeed, he'll be rewarded for his hard work. Just wish he figured it out last summer.

🦃 🦃 🦃

Yes, this. I'm hoping he figures it out this summer.

Or, this week.

Yeah he seems a little pissed off. Hell yeah Scot bring the thunder.

Damn that man looks tired. I gotta give him credit, I think hes giving it all he's got. I still won't give him a pass for last week or this season and I don't think he'd want me to (not that I matter much). I'm pretty firm in my belief that he needs to go but hopefully he can show something this week and, hopefully, in a bowl game that changes that. Kinda like we were saying about JCC earlier this year, gives one hell of an effort but something's lacking. I really like the guy as a person and I want the best for him.

Whatever JCC was lacking earlier in the year he has turned it around the past two weeks. Hopefully he continues to do the same and maybe Loeffler can turn it around too.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Absolutely. Coleman has really come on strong the past two games. I hope the rest of the offense can do the same.

Loeffler is a good interviewee, but I think he's slightly delusional in saying that everything is "just a few clicks from being exceptional". I mean, we lost to Wake Forest and scored zero points in regulation. Every thing about the offense went wrong, from the coaching to consistent player execution, so I don't know how he could say that with a straight face. A lot of the issues that we're seeing stem from coaching, so maybe he's just saying that to try to save his job.

I agree.... Don't talk about being a few clicks from being exceptional, when your O took 2 OTs to score 3 points against freakin' Wake Forest. It sounds way too much like Beamer's "two plays away" routine.

What if "one click" equals "calling/recognizing the proper blitz protection?" That's something fundamental, and something we did badly at just about every juncture. If we pick up the majority of those blitzes, we probably put up a couple of TDs easily.

Don't read too much into the coach-speak. All it means is "everything starts with attention to detail."

"Exit light..."

if you read jeff beyers peice you know we should have put atleast 7 points on the board. easily. im sure that there are other plays that really could have changed the dynamic of that game. a couple less TOs that shouldnt have happened. football is such as a hit or miss thing. most teams are only a couple plays away from clicking. we could be sitting at 10-1 with the miami game the only loss and FSU could be sitting at 5-6 right now. they got the one play we are always talking about right now and we dont. i want to believe in lefty so bad. for alot of reasons. i dont know if i can. but we really are that close!!!

I applaud your optimism but I disagree. If we were to play FSU on Friday we would get blown out. They are a much better team than us this year.

i didnt say we would beat FSU but i dont think we would get "blown out" id be willing to bet we would be "a few plays away".

all jokes aside a BC team that beat us on the last drive lost to FSU by 3 last week.

I believe you. Most of my co-workers used to tell me that the Hokies always played to their competition. After finally coming to my senses, it's true. (except for the Miami game)

-Being aggressive, being tough...that's the Virginia Tech way.

This could be a very interesting discussion topic. Some on here don't believe you can be both a few plays away and horrible at the same time. FSU proves you can be a few plays away from horrible and still be considered great. It's all about perception. The difference between great and bad in college football is very small. However, it is not easy to make up that small difference. That's why it drives most folks crazy to hear the coachspeak about being a few plays away. It may not mean the fix is easy, but the statement is true nonetheless.

Guns a blazin' Scotty! In spite of the losses, much respect. I know UVA wants this win, but I also know, we want it more. It's going to be a bloodfest, can't wait to cheer our boys on. As much as I'd like to see a smash-mouth style of offense implemented at Tech, I don't think Loefflers time is up. For two years he has been working with spare parts, I honestly think he gets at least 1-2 more years here...and I'm hoping he proves many of the critics wrong.

I couldn't even watch football for the rest of that day. Just wasn't interested for some reason. Maybe it's because the majority of the "lesser" teams were still able to look functional and also maybe score points.

I feel for the guy but at this point I'm not believing in anything until the results start showing. Seems harsh maybe but this rebuild has gone on for too long with basically nothing to show for it yet.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

What bothered me is that there seems to be a disconnect with what he is saying and with wht we are seeing. For example, he mentions that we are not too complicated, as an offense, for the players and he gauges that by asking the players? Does that seem like an accurate way to measure such an intangible issue? Would seeing how they execute be more helpful in gauging whether or not it's too complicated?

the players know whether or not the offense is too complicated for them.

if it is indeed too complicated-- whether or not they're willing to admit that is something else entirely. it's gotta be tough for a driven, competitive athlete to admit the system needs to be dumbed down a bit, even if that sentiment is completely understandable due to youth/inexperience.

Every second counts

I don't think individual plays are that complicated. There may be some where the hot reads get a little tough. I think the bigger problem is the offense itself tries to go too many different ways instead of focusing on a few packages, and do them really well. Wake was an interesting game for me. I felt like every player on the field just took turns screwing up every play. Other than perhaps the blitz pickups, there wasn't many definite places to point the finger at, it was all over the place. It's hard to blame that on the OC unless the OC has such a complicated system that there isn't enough practice time available to nail down every little thing for every single play.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." - K

The rebuild has been going on for less than 2 calendar years. We're 2 seasons and 1 recruiting cycle into this thing.

+1. Because this can't be repeated enough. Look folks, I'm hating the product on the field and basically want to bash my head against the wall like the rest of you, but the man has only been here for two years. He may not be right for this school, he may not be a good OC, but we need to judge the product when its done. Now, IMHO, he needs at least another year. Doesn't mean we can't complain about the team or their performance. But please keep this fact on your mind.

If we fire Leoffler and bring in a new HC, does anyone think this person will turn the team around within two years? No of course not. The team will struggle and will need to learn a new system and the new terminology so the new HC supporters will invariably say the guy needs more than two years. Guess what, we are in that situation right now. Expect its a new OC and he is dealing with a whole lot of youth, a whole lot of injuries and an impatient fan base. Let me repeat it, he has only been here for two years. If we fire the man, what miracle worker will we hire to replace OC Leoffler that will fix the offense within two years?

Go Hokies!

The problem is people like to compare apples to oranges. For example, they see what Gus is doing at Auburn, not realizing that when he returned, they were all his recruited players set for his system. So even though he was away, they were coached up and ready to go. So some out there expect a new coach to just be a great coach, no matter the players and do well.

Maybe he was saying "klick" not "click". The first being short for kilometer in military-speak. In that case, it does look like we're at least a kilometer away, since that was about our average 3rd down distance against Wake.

Either way he's got me fired up. It is disappointing though to hear him talk about how much simpler the game plan has gotten since OSU. Mostly because our offense has turned into hot garbage

"the formula that's being created here .... it's a click away from being really good". If that is real, it sounds like Frank and Co believe they have a plan and strategy and buy-in from everyone. If that is the case, no one is going anywhere and we could very well look back on this year as the baptism by fire that helped create a cohesive, hard-nosed team that doesn't know how to quit. If not, if he is just rambling .... well there's always the dumpster fire!

I don't know what the coaches saw, but what they put out there on the field against Wake Forest was not a click away from being really good. You don't get shutout by a 2 win bottomfeeder and then turn around and tell everyone that 'oh man, but we're soooooo close to being where we want to be'. That performance was about as far from 'good' and 'competent' as I have ever seen out of a football team. Any football team.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

sure - if we're talking about any specific game or play, we're back onto the injuries, youth, in-games decisions, etc. I was more on the existence of a long-term strategy that everyone has bought into. Whether we are one click or twenty clicks away from being a good team again, I was simply intrigued by the allusion to something bigger that everyone is buying into.

Could be something along the lines of:
1. Whit meets with everyone in the AD after his hire and understands the biggest challenges
2. Whit created plans to fix the biggest issues and put in place a strategic plan to be a best-in-class AD
3. Whit and Frank agree to the football-specific strategy and plan
4. As part of the strategy and plan, Whit and Frank agree to bolster staffing particularly around recruiting and Whit extends Franks contract to remove some perceived barriers
5. Recruiting gets renewed emphasis and the new blood helps create the FAB15 recruiting mantra that is a key part of the plan to get the most competitive team possible by 2016 which is the Battle of Bristol and Frank's last season.
6. Practice starts and we begin losing players quicker than Mike London can call a timeout
7. We beat OSU and everyone celebrates massively and thinks .... WOW this plan is WAY ahead of schedule
8. The attrition continues, on-field performance and confidence goes down
9. Repeat above for about 7 weeks
10. Here we are, everyone is still on board, no one has divided the locker room, Wyatt Teller is still delivering pancake blocks, but we are losing in progressively worse fashion to progressively worse teams.
11. The strategy, plan, and people are still good but we really need to beat UVa to keep the bowl streak alive and show the FAB 15 that we can still execute on the plan by 2016.
12. When we beat UT 37-6 in 2016, I'm going to be all like

@HaydenDubya

The biggest question, and I certainly don't have enough information to answer it, is whether or not changing the offensive coach and system is the best thing for 2015 and 2016. Thinking beyond that is probably like spinning wheels because the head man will likely be replaced by that point. The only way the whole system doesn't blow up then is if Bud is promoted up, and there is no way to guarantee that now from what I understand of the Virginia hiring process. It is very likely that Loeffler is the best option for the next couple of years and if Whit decides that, I'm ok with it.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." - K

When I watch something like this, it strikes a cord and makes me regret calling for him to be fired. He's human, he has a family, this is his career and his passion.

However, while Lefty may very well be an intelligent, passionate coach who has given this team everything he has this season--his offense hasn't produced results.

I don't think that a win Friday night, even coupled with a bowl win, will be enough for Whit to renew his contract. Unless Whit decides that the number of injuries and other factors outside of SL's control were too much for him to over come as an OC, I think change needs to be made.

Problem is I don't know who would want to come to Blacksburg and be an OC knowing that Beamer isn't going to be around much longer. So Whit has to grapple with that decision as well. Keep Frank around and try and find an OC replacement? Give an OC a HCIW clause? Ask Frank to step down and clean house? Give SL another year?

I don't envy Whit right now. Buzz was a Home Run hire but Beamer's replacement has to be a Grand Slam.

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

Performance of the team on Friday will make this potentially a lot easier. A loss and the decision actually gets a lot easier. The harder choice would be if we squeaked by and won/lost a bowl game.

Happily, Whit has another year before he has to make the decision to renew Lefty's contract.

Ah, I'd been told his contract ends in early '15, my mistake.

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

Nope, but as of January Auburn is no longer paying half his salary.

That could be what I'm confusing it with.

Doesn't mean that Whit shouldn't consider making a change...

Bingo. And of course, Whit is going to consider it. However, if it was me, I couldn't justify cutting the guy loose a year early and trying to get someone better to come in and deal with the same crap. That's how you end up like Michigan: a whole lot of debt and very little to show for it.

Not to mention UM has much deeper pockets.

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

A new season...new hope

Sometimes, bounces go your way. Other times, you're VT in the Sugar Bowl.

I really don't know how anyone could look at this situation and not come to the conclusion that this was not too much to overcome or at least have an enormous doubt that any OC in the country could have been successful in this situation.

It all starts with the OL and it takes more time to rebuild through recruiting not to mention a bit of continuity in OL coaching to turn the corner here.

I absolutely think Loeffler should get another year. He will benefit from all the battle tested young talent coming back. I cannot imagine that we will not have a better injury situation next year although it is critical that Shai and Marshawn recover.

Strangely enough, one key question is what does Bud think? Does he respect SL as a coach and think he has the right stuff? DC know OC better than anyone else.

VT Genes

As for your last question, yes, he does. Bud knows exactly how much Lefty is pouring into this thing and said as much in his last interview. He knows Lefty isn't the one throwing picks or missing blocks, and that's not what he's coaching those kids to do. Plus, I think Bud knows that a couple of the losses have been on the D this year. BC and GT come to mind as games in which the offense definitely did enough to win if the D gets just one or 2 more stops in key spots. We've seen technique breakdowns on the defensive side as well - sometimes it's just really hard to get kids to do what you want them to all the time. As Torrian Gray has on the door of the DB film room, "If at first you don't succeed, try doing what your coach told you to do the first time."

I can appreciate the enthusiasm in his voice this week but one interview doesn't make me feel any better about things getting fixed in less than a week. These conversations are had almost every week and nothing changes. I just can't hop on the SL wagon after seeing what he's done over two seasons. If there was some type of gradual improvement I'd be excited but like the team, I'm just not quite there yet.

You want gradual improvement when we keep having major setbacks for key players? That works.

Yes. The score doesn't have to improve every week, but we should be able to see improvement in the offense's fundamentals every week. Or at least overall, from game 1 to game 11. I think you can tell the difference between an offense that's struggling to replace an injured star and an offense that's struggling to run out of the tunnel without tripping and falling.

"Our job as coaches is to influence young people's lives for the better in terms of fundamental skills, work ethic, and doing the right thing. Every now and again, a player actually has that effect on the coaching staff." Justin Fuente on Sam Rogers

I think we have, at least in spurts and at least in some individuals. Bucky's route running is a great example. I think Teller has tightened some things up as well technique-wise, but you'd have to ask French to be sure about that. Besides, it's not like we're missing one or two guys here. We're out 3 OL that were supposed to either start or push for playing time (ugh... could you imagine a line containing Teller and Benedict? That'd be a nasty run-blocking interior) and our top 3 backs. The only consistent piece has been Brewer, and he's been ending up on his back after every dropback. Not an ideal way for a QB to learn how to step up in the pocket and deliver the ball with confidence.

Always helps to see the human side of the man that most want gone. Obviously the passion is still there and he wants to succeed, hope he makes the best of what could be his last opportunity.

right there with you.

i've been beating the fire loeffler drum but after seeing this, i'm excited to see what he can cobble together against those got damn wahoos.

Every second counts

Remember BillDozer's hype video a couple seasons ago, the one that was set to a voiceover from Star Trek? Remember the bit where he got Bud to yell, "FIRE EVERYTHING!"? Well, that's what we're gonna see on Friday. Wahoos better hope they're ready for the kitchen sink.

Most of you know exactly how I feel about Loeffler and his job security. To be perfectly blunt, there haven't been many tangible reasons for it (because even as excellent as the OSU win was, and everything that's gone against the offense since then, no one wants to hear about what happened in September, and as well as the offense played against BC, no one wants to look back fondly on a loss). However, it's stuff like this that gives me confidence that he can be successful. It's the way he approaches the game and it's the way he approaches life. This right here is how he coaches every single day - no excuses, no cop-outs. Yeah, sometimes shit just don't work, but you deal with it, you move on, and you fight like hell every single snap to win. Is that not exactly what we've seen from this team this year? He's clearly got the players' buy-in (easily one of the most difficult aspects of coaching, IMO), and the offense is at the very least set up well enough for it to work well when executed. Are the execution failures on him as a coach to not prepare his players, or due to a lack of experience and now relying on players who were running with the 3rd team a couple months ago? Little column A, little column B, most likely, but I think you guys know which column I think is a little more filled out here. The bottom line: he needs to win. However, we've got to give him a chance to actually turn this thing around. One recruiting cycle and almost 2 full seasons isn't enough time to fix what was wrong with the offense before. We've seen it work, and I fully believe that with a little more time to coach up these young guys (and get some other guys out of the training room), we're gonna see it working a whole lot more.

You and me both, brother.

A new season...new hope

I know that Malleck has been hurt in the middle of the season, but has anyone else noticed that things were really opened up on offense when he was making 4, 5, even 6 catches in a game like Western Carolina (gimme game I know) and at Ohio State. With the way Bucky has developed things can open up for him even more if Malleck is featured in the pass game. He has done a nice job in the running game (as nice as you can do with our numbers) and is even held back to pass protect. He needs to be featured more, make teams take him away.

point of order: Malleck didn't play against Western Carolina as he was out all of last season. He did, however, play against Western Michigan this year.

That being said, I totally agree with you. Leg.

ah good call. Should have looked that up... Knew it was a directional carolina/michigan/something like that.

I firmly believe that Lefty is the guy for the job. Last year was a crap shoot with player injuries, starting from scratch, and a bad pool of talent...and while sometimes he may outsmart even himself (and his players), I feel like he will get this corrected. The guy knows the role, but he just needs consistency in his players' play-to-play performance and continuity in health/physical presence through the season. He's making an impact in recruiting and he seems to have the right intensity in practice (not just in this one video). The man also just had a baby this year and doesn't sleep much. Don't get me wrong. There have been bad play calls. But, I believe he's the guy for the job. He just needs 1 more year to show the improvement we believe is there.

I believe this because I don't see that the locker room is in disarray circa 2003. There's no kids talking trash online. No rumors of fights. Not even subtle indirect attacks toward coaches in player interviews. They're as mad as we are, but only in the losses and themselves...as a team.

I still have a lot of faith in next year to compete for the ACC championship if we can get one or both of shai or marshawn back to spell Edmunds. Hell...Deshawn "where's my 4th star" McClease could probably come in at #2 with JC if everyone is still hurt. An older and deeper oline?...there's a shot. Left will know what to do.

I don't know. Maybe it's the 3:00pm whiskey talking. Just give it 1 more year for all these guys....

...and F&^% UVA. May my son never know the sight of a wahoo victory at Thanksgiving and may my daughters birth only Techmen. Destroy those pretentious bow-tie wearing clowns and let's all celebrate another 365 days of the cup. This is our state.

I do agree that player injuries and talent weaknesses in play have hampered what the OC can do. Play calling needs work but more so than last it has that old familiar tone to it. If Loeffler does stay, he or Stinespring need to get their butt out of the booth and down on the field. It urks me that Stiney feels so important that he is needed up there where if he is doing nothing it's a waste and where if he is offering input it's obvious.

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. " Rocky B.

Pretty sure you are limited as to how many coaches can actually be on the field.

Stiney isn't in the booth unless Loeffler says he's in the booth. This is Lefty's show on offense; the only one who gets to meddle at all is Beamer. The rest can make suggestions or say, "yes, boss."

As for playcalling, in general, it's been pretty good. A lot of "failed" playcalls look a whole heck of a lot better if a throw is made better, a route is run better, or a lineman executes better.

Why does everyone get so upset about the location of Stinespring on gameday? Do you actually think the coaching staff is run in such a helter skelter fashion that Frank has no control or say what goes on, or that Stinespring and the rest of the coaches just run amok on gameday and do whatever they please? If Frank and Scott want Stinespring in the box, then that's where he'll be. I'm pretty sure if they told him to wait in the locker room for them after the half, he would do that too...

Accurate. Pretty sure Stiney's contributions in the press box are something along the lines of, "hey, look what they're doing over there."

Haha.

I would love to see Loeffler on the sidelines with a little Bud Foster-style fire. That would make my day
