Next fall I'm taking my talents to Virginia Tech. I think they are a good fit for me and what I do. DBU is how I feel.— adonis williamson (@adonisw20) December 11, 2014
Moments ago Arsenal Technical High School (Indianapolis, Indiana) 2015 defensive back Adonis Williamson announced his commitment to Virginia Tech. Williamson is rated a three-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite. He selected the Hokies over offers from Missouri, Louisville and Northern Illinois.

"The tradition definitely played into it," Williamson said in a July interview with The Key Play's Alex Koma. "Along with the coaches, that's a big part of why I want to go there."
The 6-1, 180 pound Williamson is friends with defensive tackle Eric Whitehead, who is also committed to Virginia Tech.

More from Koma's July interview with Williamson / Whitehead:
But the biggest voice in Williamson's ear might just be that of current Tech commit Eric Whitehead.
"There were always a bunch of us as early as middle school saying we wanted to play together, go to college together," Williamson said. "Maybe even go to the next level together. And that's been a huge influence on me."
"We've probably known each other for the better part of four years," Whitehead said. "He tells me every day about all the schools he's talking to."
French's 15-word analysis:
So, are we feeling good about Adonis Williamson today? Watched some tape on him... very similar to Detrick Bonner but a more sound tackler.— TKP French (@french60wasp) December 11, 2014
Arsenal Technical coach Tony Henderson gave The Key Play's Alex Koma a synopsis of Williamson's versatility in a July interview. "He mainly plays corner for us, but he's lined up at receiver, safety, outside linebacker," Henderson said. "We blitz him, put him in a two deep or three deep. He's just one of the best cornerbacks in the state or even the whole Midwest."
Expect for Williamson to begin his career as a corner for the Hokies with the possibility to move to free safety.

Welcome to the DBU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good news!!!!!
Welcome to Virginia Tech!
Love that he used DBU !!!!
wait, good news? i'm not sure how to react to this.
Very solid as a tackler in the alleys. Good hips, may not be an elite cover corner, but a very good coverage free safety. He can hide in coverage and read/robber QBs. He is everything we like about Detrick Bonner, and he looks like a much better fundamental tackler. I love this pick up.
Well on our way to the coveted 11 DB formation in 2017
We could nickname the Lane Stadium crowd "The Twlefth DB"
No, that's what they call Scott Stadium
I'm giving you a leg, but you deserve the entire damn turkey for that one.
I bow to your Buddha nature.
You tee'd that sucker up way too nicely for me
Is he walking toward third?
HR derby. With a name like Yoenis, you do what you want anyway.
I prefer this one.
I would have done that one, but then I didn't want to look like I was upvoting myself
cause I'm humble like that, yo
As an A's fan I give this a very sad leg. We traded him days before the Cespedes t-shirt giveaway day.
Never fall in love with a player on a Billy Beane team.
As a Red Sox fan, I'm sads as well. Still miss my boy Jon Lester.
We'll take care of him in the Windy City. GO CUBS GO!
Is that a "take care of him" in the mafia sense or a "welcome to a 106-year championship drought" sense?
2015! This is our year, folks! Remember, the Cubs win the world series in 2015 in the movie "Back to the Future 2"
But I like being part of the twelfth TE.
I see your nickel, and raise you a nickel and a penny
Since we're soon to run out of Fullers, to calculate FAINT, it may be time to start calculating AAINT.
We're about to run out of Fullers from THIS generation. The recruiting class of 2032 looks promising.
Can never have too many Adonii
A recruit picked us? Huzzah!
Seriously though, welcome to Hokie Nation, Adonis!
He might only be 3* but he's healthy. Right now. You need good knees and ankles to play good football.
Just trying to stay positive after yesterday.
Huzzah!
I wonder if Gentry can pack enough pounds on him so he could play DE for us?
Thank you, Adonis. My prep for yesterday didn't even collect any dust.

I also appreciate a 4 PM versus 10 AM news delivery.
Welcome aboard, Adonis. Looking forward to another star DB to step up!
Remember, if you meet this chick anywhere...
... and she asks if you are a god, you say YES!
Don't be like Ray.
I break this one out for special occasions.
Adonii. We got Adonii.
Anybody else got Adonii? Didn't think so.
Welcome to the hokies.
We always have an eye for 3 star recruits who play like 5 stars. I have no doubt that the Hokie Defense staff can turn this kid into a star
Also, +1 on the out of state grab! We may not be able to get our own in state 5 stars, but at least we can pick talent from elsewhere
2 of the top 11 in the state of Indiana according to ESPN.
And 2 of the 3 rated guys named Adonis!
Good to see the Darren Evans pipeline is still flowing.
Good get.
I have a question though about our defensive backfield. Who is our last safety that did not start out his DBU career as a corner? Only name I have in mind is Eddie Whitley, and I'm doubtful on that one.
Davon Morgan? Eddie Whitley started out as a corner and played corner as a true freshman in 08'.
Davon Morgan started as a FS and then was moved to rover I believe... Whitley played both corner and FS his freshman year...
Did Jarrett start at corner? I don't recall him doing so...could be wrong though.
He did.
If I'm not mistaken, CJ Reavis has played a few snaps at safety this year.
I'd like to think that's because of our defensive system.
Learn and earn your raw cover skills as a corner/nickel/dime back. Once you know offenses and reads, if you have the skill set you swap to safety.
Seems to be kinda common for us other than the top-flight DB's (Macho Harris, Fullers, Hosley, Hall, etc).
Love seeing kids who want to be Hokies, and be a part of DBU, welcome to the family!
Just let this little tidbit creep into my brain:

"But the biggest voice in Williamson's ear might just be that of current Tech commit Eric Whitehead."
Eric "Lunch Money" Whitehead. The guy that tosses dudes around like rag dolls.
That's right---> Solid
Rumors? ----> Bed.
Let the drunk posting commence.
Love this pickup. Yes, it's a highlight tape, but his highlights look more solid than most.
A DB who is a good tackler, can play safety, WR. Adonis was born to play for the Hokies. Coach Gray got himself a shiny new toy for his collection.
Nice pickup! Welcome to Hokie Nation!
Glad to have him on the defensive side of the ball!
Would prefer he spends a lot of time improving punt receiving skills and being coached to run forward before we consider having him return kicks. Just sayin.
#Takeitatthe25dammit
Awesome get. Go Hokies.
I'm excited about this class.
It's like fishing. I can find the trout and rig up what I think is the right fly and present it perfectly....and sometimes it just don't bite.
And I can spend time kickin' myself over how I suck as a fisherman or why I didn't want that trout anyway......
or I can land the next big one that comes along.
It's a lot more fun that way, and there's more than one fish....

Welcome Mr. Williamson!
Sweet avatar and a fly fisherman to boot. Leg for all of that. Where'd you get that 'bow?
Welcome to DBU!!!
Holland Fisher and CJ Reavis will only make this picture scarier next season!
Yaaaayyyy. Cool look forward to seeing him in Maroon and Orange!
That is good because we are going to miss Bonner in the future.
Thank the good lord I was nervous at work tonight not knowing who he picked.
The dude is a missile; flying in from the secondary, I love his aggression and the way he inflicts hits, doesn't absorb ball carriers.
Let's hope they were wrong about the first one?
6'1, 180
A couple years and around 200 pounds he's going to be a beast, looks like he'll be a great safety roaming the field. Not afraid to come up and lay the wood
I can already picture him in Georgia Tech's backfield.
This is fantastic! Welcome, Adonis, to the best training you can get to play in the secondary
Was it my imagination or did Adonis return three punts for TD against the SAME team? They must be having nightmares about that guy.
Monty Python gets a leg, always.
Naturally
His coach (who played with Ty Law at Michigan) says he's better than Law at this stage. Let's hope his progression continues. Law was a Hall Of Famer in my book. Awesome player.
man, I wish getting a recruit resulted in the amount of posts that losing a recruit did.
This is great news. I agree with IndianaPrep (thanks HokieNinja) that he looks absolutely beast. I think he is easily 4*. Great get for the Hokies! Welcome to Hokie Nation and DBU.
It's the difference in a 5-star recruit & a 3-star recruit and the position need that are the factors, not whether one is lost or gained.
What's the old rule of thumb? Something like if you make someone happy they'll tell one person, piss them off they'll tell ten.
It looks like this may be Adoning of a new age for our defensive backfield.
Brilliant pun. Leg.
In terms of downright awful puns... you may have won for the day... and its only 10am
wow, that one hurt
Nah bro, I'm

I think ....
C&H FTW...
Ok I'm crying I'm laughing so hard at all of these!
Adonis. Adonat. Adonitall.
